A really enjoyable quick audiobook for this very fun, sexy novella introducing the Halifax Hellions. The narrator does a lovely job capturing Margo's personality and portraying Henry Mortimer as the buttoned-up, quite serious solicitor who has been pining for Margo. In a short amount of time the author and narrator do a wonderful job providing an introduction to the Halifax Hellions, convincing me of Henry's pining, Margo's realization of her love for Henry, and teasers for the other novellas and it never feels rushed. Looking forward to the next in the series!

This was such a delightful littpe audiobook! Alexandra Vasti has has done it again! Or did it first, because i know this was published original before ne'er duke well.
Margo Halifax is in a pickle- her twin sister has run off to scottland to elope with a man margo finds wanting. While an elopement would normally be truly scandlous, for a halifax hellion, its par for the course. Margo worries more for matildas heart than her rep, and enlists her brothers best friend Henry to help track her wayward twin. Henry has had a crush on margo for years together and the forced proximity has the firs burning bright.
I think alexandra vasti is one of my favorite romance authors- she writes these subversive historical fictions in ways thay are both believable and fun and give characters agency and sweetness and bravery. I think she can do anything and i was utterly charmed by this book. The narrator was so fantastic. I cant imagine how hard it is to narrate romance but damn she did an excellent job.
Thanks netgalley and dreamscape for the ARC!

What a surprisingly charming, fun read that bordered on erotica!
Henry has been in love with Margot, his best friends sister, for seven years. Margot is unaware of this when she asks him to accompany her in a mad dash (in horse and carriage) to find her sister who has eloped. Henry jumps at the chance. Then he jumps her. Several times. Starchy Henry becomes Stiff Henry.
Margot has had her fair share of flirtations and flings but didn't expect quiet, unassuming Henry to declare his love...and his pent up lust.
I love that this could easily have turned into a case of miscommunication blah, blah but no, they were honest with each other and it made the story enjoyable. (Ridiculous miscommunication tropes are my least favourite. Especially when one truthful sentence is all that is needed.)
A thoroughly recommended read. I can't wait to delve into the next two in the series

This was an absolutely fantastic listen.
I had heard of this book in bookstagram but hadn't had the chance to read them so I am really happy they are being done in audio.
This book is a short novella, so I won't say much in order to not spoil the fun but if you are looking for a light, low angst but entertaining historical mf romance then pick this one up!
I am definitively intrigued about the 2nd book!

One of my new favorite things to do is to listen to the audio of a book I've already read. I'm not much of a re-reader due to time but I've discovered I don't mind rereading via audio. I catch so much that I may have missed the first time and am also brought back into the world the author created. And I absolutely love being immersed in the world that Alexandra Vasti created. I adore the Halifax Hellions and this entire series. Margo Halifax is a great introduction into Vasti's writing. Her books have wonderful plots and guaranteed spice. She knows how to craft a story and develop the characters in a way that feel natural and relatable. I loved how the characters were obsessed with each other, the pining, the tension, the breaking point. It's all so fun. But there's also moments of swoon and tenderness between the two. One of my favorite moments, that almost feels incomplete, is between Margo and her sister. It felt very coming of age even though Margo is in her 20s. Perhaps, it's more of a turning point. I enjoyed listening to this book so much and now cannot wait to hear the next two books so I can be transported back and remember how I felt reading them the first time.

It was a nice little audiobook, a few hours of listening that I do not regret! It was more erotic than I was expecting, this novella having a historical setting. If you want to enjoy it though, you will have to set aside the probability of something this scandalous happening for real at the time.
I really liked Margo, her genuine enthusiasm and joyful demeanour. Her travelling with cheese made me smile so much. She is such a naïve character in some ways, that I found her really likeable. And Henry... Starchy, loving Henry, his love for her was so sweet, I would have wanted more of it, making it a slower burn, which would have needed for another format than a novella.
It was enjoyable and I wish we would have more of Margo in other books.
Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for providing me access to this lovely audiobook!

Exactly what I want in a historical romance. There's a road trip, it's sexy, great characters, a few laughs! I appreciated the way this packed in a full story within a novella but I would also love a longer work from this author!

This is the first book in the Halifax Hellions series and does a great job, introducing the characters in the setting for the series.
Margo is your typical wild child with a heart of gold. She begins this escapade with the goal of rescuing her twin sister, who apparently has a eloped with an unsavoury character. She enlist the help of her brother’s best friend on this road trip adventure, while unknown to her, he has been in love with her since he met her.
Antics, hijinks and romance ensue!
This is my second reading of this novella, and I was very impressed with how well the narration fit the characters and the story. Mhairi Morrison perfectly captures the spirit of the Hellions and the vibe of the story. Sometimes when you read a story and then go listen to the audio there is a disconnect between what you envisioned the narration being, and in this scenario it matched wonderfully.
I can’t wait to experience the rest of the Halifax siblings antics all over again with the new audiobook releases!
Thank you too Dreamscape Media for my audiobook review copy. Opinions are my own.

Note: This review is for the audiobook of IN WHICH MARGO HALIFAX EARNS HER SHOCKING REPUTATION by Alexandra Vasti, read by Mhairi Morrison, which releases on February 27. I had not read the paperback.
As half of the Halifax Hellions, Margo Halifax isn’t afraid to defy conventions. When her twin sister runs off to elope with an older man, Margo enlists the help of her brother’s best friend, solicitor Henry Mortimer. Henry accompanies her on her journey because he can’t let her go alone. He’s had a crush on Margo for years. Once on the road, he has a hard time holding back his lusty desires. When she starts to notice him, their attraction grows. But this is no time to fall in love. Margo needs to find her sister and save her from making a horrible mistake. And Henry is aware that he can’t marry Margo because she’s above his class. But what’s a couple to do when the attraction is undeniable?
This audiobook was fantastic. The narrator, Mhairi Morrison, knocks it out of the park, catching every nuance and building tension. She also brings the heat perfectly. I cannot imagine a better narrator for this book and I’m not sure I’ve enjoyed an audiobook this much before. What a fun listen!
You could feel Henry’s restraint. He was clearly in love with Margo, but realized that his position was such that he could not be with her forever. Margo had regrets and beautifully came to realize her affection for Henry. Morrison handled both POVs with fantastic tone and enthusiasm.
The sexual tension between Margo and Henry was off the charts hot. Both characters were so likable, and it was clear they belonged together. There’s pining, swooning, and spice combined with deep affection and love. I liked that it was a regency that didn’t take itself too seriously. Vasti tells a great story without diving too in deep into clothing terms and locations.
It takes under four hours to read and I didn’t want to turn it off. If I could’ve read it in one setting I would’ve.
Thank you to Alexandra Vasti, Mhairi Morrison, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook!!
Adored this book and I’m officially a huge fan of Vasti’s work
The pacing was a bit fast in places and I want a book (or books) that express who Henry and Margo are more. I plan to read/listen to the other Halifax Hellion installments- but i adored what i did get to know about the characters !
Loved the writing style and overall vibe of friends to lovers

What a fun, sexy little book!
This one has been out in paperback for a little while, but the audio releases 2/27. I didn’t realize that the total playtime of this one is under 4 hours but I was able to read it in one sitting and it did not disappoint!
Margo and her twin Matilda have made a name for themselves as the Halifax Helions. Despite their reputations, both girls strive for a normal relationship. Margo embarks on a quest to find her sister after she sets off to elope with an older man that Margo is convinced she knows nothing about. Margo enlists her brother's best friend, Henry, to accompany her on this trip and debauchery quickly ensues.
It seems as if Henry has been harboring feelings for Margo for quite some time now and as their horses leave them at a small town inn, the two are pulled together. Both of them are magnetized to the other, unable to resist the charms of one another.
Henry and Margo both had me under their spell from start to finish and I will definitely be picking up the next one!

This is a reissue of the author’s novella and I still enjoyed the heck out of it! The audiobook does this novella justice. It brings the charm, humor and steam. Plus it’s a quick listen.

My love for (obsession with?) @alexandravasti’s Halifax Hellions is no secret! I’ve read and reread (and reread) all three novels and love each couple more with every interaction! So when @dreamscape_media approved my request for the audio for IN WHICH MARGO HALIFAX EARNS HER SHOCKING REPUTATION, I actually screamed!
Y’all, it’s even better than I imagined! Mhairi Morrison was incredible! She captured both Margo and Henry, every pause and sigh and groan, to absolute perfection!
The audio releases in a week!! If you haven’t pre-ordered it, I suggest running to wherever you buy your audiobooks 🤩🤩🤩

A short and spicy romp! It hits on several classic romance tropes, but the novella length keeps it fun and fresh. A nice single sitting historical romance. What I was missing most was more info about the supporting characters, so I'm delighted there are more that will paint out their pictures.

3 ⭐️ Humorous and sexy! In Which Margo Halifax Earns Her Shocking Reputation is a short novella filled with friends-to-lovers, road trip, and one bed only vibes. This is a fun, simple little read that one can easily start and finish in a single sitting.
When Margo Halifax finds out that her twin sister, Matilda, has run off to Scotland to elope, she convinces her brother’s best friend to accompany her to stop the marriage. Little does she know that the quiet solicitor has been infatuated with her for several years now.
Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and Alexandra Vasti for the free audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"Perhaps there had been a time when she did not find him handsome, but she did not remember it."
What you'll get:
Brother's best friend
Bisexual rep
Setting: England
After Margo's twin sister, Matilda, runs off to elope with an older unsuitable man, she desperately tries to beat them to the groom's home and try to break off the wedding before it happens. They're totally fine with scandalous behavior but not a whole marriage.
Henry's adored Margo from afar and never told her because he didn't feel like he had enough to offer her. When she comes to him for help, his bags are packed nearly immediately. He was lovely. Never thought she was too much/scandalous/unworthy and just enjoyed watching her do society events by her own rules. The move from lovers to love was really quick but the length of the book aided in that.
Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

The way I blushed through this historical romance novella… MY WORD!
I’m not well versed in the HR world but shoot I want to be! This was the perfect starting point. I’m always impressed with authors that can write a fully fledged story… from characters… a sense of place and plot all wrapped up in a short novella! This felt very complete and has me sooo excited it’s a first in the Halifax Hellions series!

In Which Margo Halifax Earns Her Shocking Reputation is a delightful novella, full of humor, a great social commentary, and the perfect amount of spice.
Margo and Henry's chemistry is on point and the narration is top tier. It was a fun romp through the English countryside. Looking forward to listening to book 2.
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this ALC.

The Halifax twins have relished in scandalizing the ton. But when Margo's sister runs off to Gretna Green to get marries, Margo has to find her. Since no one in her family is in town, she enlists the help of her brother's best friend, Henry. Henry declines at first, but cannot let her go alone. He has been in love with Margo for years, so he has to protect her. He just hopes he can survive the journey.
For a novella, this was great. It started off really good- it took no time to learn the characters and their relationships. And I enjoyed them. Then the ending was incredibly rushed because... novella. I really enjoyed Margo and wish this had been a full length book.
Mhairi Morrison does a good job narrating the audiobook. I listened at 1.5.
I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

4/5
Short and sweet journey. I'm a sucker for a road trip, an only-one-bed, tensions-run-high adventure. I also cried. I feel like this novel was too short to elicit that reaction from me, but I connected with Margo by the end and when she was sad, I was sad.
Henry is the love interest we all deserve, Or at least, the one that Margo if Henry isn't your speed.
I can't wait to pick up the next audiobook in the series!
