I requested this book because I wanted to learn about, and be reminded, of societies past and present that benefitted from a women in power, either for the better or the worse. A female leader can be many things that a male leader is: crazy, narcissistic, despotic, bald, the list goes on.. and it is important that readers know this because we often forget that women in power can be a good thing, and not a sign that the world has gone mad, once again.

This was a fascinating collection of stories. My only issue was that some of the women had such a small amount of information available that I wonder if it even made sense to have them in the book.

This was a great anthology of women in power, how they come to power, the struggles of women in power and the repercussions of the idea of a powerful woman in our society.
