A Werewolf's Guide to Seducing a Vampire by Sara Hawley was an absolute delight to read. This cute and breezy romantic read can easily be read as a standalone while also serving to continue the experience of the world and community this author has already created. The pacing was great, the chemistry between characters was believable, and the supernatural elements were handled very well. I definitely recommend this title for existing fans of the author's works and believe it would serve as a good entry point for those wanting to give this brand of romance a try.
A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire showcases Hawley’s trademark zany humor and sparkling storytelling, where a quest for epic revenge can instead launch a gentle romance between a bloodthirsty assassin and an anxious werewolf. A romp filled with magical duels and life-threatening levels of sexual tension.
Silly, happy, good addition to the series. This series by Sarah Hawley is a happy diversion. It’s a cute paranormal romcom.
A sweet and hilarious paranormal rom-com, referencing and building off of the “werewolf vs vampires as mortal enemies” tropes.
Thank you so much to Berkeley Romance, NetGalley, and Sarah Hawley for an early copy of this book!
"Ben Rosewood never meant to be bound to a vampire succubus, especially one as sexy-yet-terrifying as Eleanora Bettencourt-Devereux, but he has to admit there are some fang-tastic perks…."
This book is perfect for anyone who reads Romantasy and needs some fun and not-so-serious reading! The writing was easy to read and the characters, Ben Rosewood and Eleanora Betterncourt-Devereux were fully developed and funny with their quips. I highly recommend this book for those who love contemporary romance and want to start in the fantasy-romance world. It takes elements from both genres and mixes them in a way that is a blast to read.
I was thankful to receive an ARC of this book! All three books have been fantastic enough to bring me back to fantasy genre. It did take me a while to get into it but once I did I didn't want to put it down. I so identified with Ben the werewolf! He gives everything he has to everyone around him to the point of exhaustion. Along comes a fiery tempered vampire/succubus that turns his world upside down in a much needed way. And Eleonore, I loved her fierce, scrappy and blunt attitude. Such a fun book to read!
3.75/5 stars ⭐️
If you stepped into a world which combined Halloweentown with The Vampire Diaries and added some spice, you’d end up with this book.
While the MMC wasn’t my type, I liked the departure from typical romance novels with hypermasculine, domineering, neurotypical men.
Ben is a very single 38 year old werewolf who is the opposite of all things wolf, he owns a plant shop, knits, hates hunting, and lives with crippling anxiety + panic attacks. Cue Eleonore, a half vampire, half succubus assassin who he accidentally ordered off eBay??
Let the chaos ensue. This book somehow combines all of the above with the theatre, a mayoral race, and a very diverse group of friends. The chemistry between the main characters was good, and several of their scenes put a smile on my face.
However, while I really liked the main couples’ interactions, I felt like the world building/friend group was super corny. This is where my “Halloweentown remark” comes into play. The drama and conflicts felt so trivial and childish. I felt like I was reading a YA/teen novel but then there was shocking spicy scenes with vampire 🍆 biting?! The romance scenes also felt a little forced and clinical at times. For me it’s never about the physical descriptions in the scenes, but instead the feelings, emotions, and interactions between characters. I wish we had a little more of that.
If you like romance that’s based on friendship, with goofy moments, is inclusive and real (in the sense that it addresses and mental health like anxiety and panic attacks) then this book is for you!
This is my first time reading anything from this author/series but there are another 2 books which focus on two other couples from this world. They show up in this book as well.
Overall wanted to love this, but at times it felt a little all over the place…but, with that being said it was an enjoyable, lighthearted read. I am curious about the other books in this series to read them when I need a palette cleanser or something “low stakes” to read when I want to wind down or relax.
This book was absolutely adorable and hilarious! I adored Ben and Eleanore, and their relationship dynamics and chemistry were great. I think this is my favourite book out of the series! I really liked Eleanore, and I thought she was a really interesting character. Watching her adapt to a new time period was quite entertaining, and she was overall just a fabuously weird character! I also really liked Ben and enjoyed how the author depicted his anxiety. The author's portrayal of anxiety attacks and anxiety was very realistic and was done very well. Ben was very off to the side in the previous books, so I was excited for him to be the main character. I loved getting to see all of the characters from the previous books (especially Astaroth; I love him he's an icon), and I absolutely love this friend group! Overall, I would completely recommend this book, and I really hope Sarah Hawley writes more books in this series! :)
I realized this was the third book in the series, AFTER reading it…either way i will be reading the rest! I absolutely adored glimmer Falls.
I highly recommend if you need a cozy read with spice! The chemistry between Ben and Eleanore is unmatched and perfection! The journey of acceptance in the relationship is also perfection!
Sarah Hawley consistently writes the cutest books and A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire is no different! I thoroughly enjoyed this, and I can’t wait for what’s next!
As far as I’m concerned, Sarah Hawley can do no wrong. Her latest is every bit as good as its predecessors. Read this!
"A Werewolf's Guide to Seducing a Vampire" is the third book in the "Gliimmer Falls" romance series; I greatly enjoyed the first two, but was excited to see what Hawley had in store for new magical species other than witch/demon. Ben is our anxious, sensitive hero in this one, and Eleanor his succubus/vampire love interest he accidentally purchased off of Ebay (she was trapped in a crystal). While this book has the same warm, cozy feel of the two previous entries, it's a little all over the place. Part of it is due to Eleanor herself, who is half-vampire, half-succubus, and a little too good at everything - her magical abilities and tortured past kind of take the place of a real personality for a while there, making it hard to really bond with her as a character. She's got a LOT of trauma, which makes it difficult to root for her to hop straight into a romantic relationship, even with such an upstanding guy as Ben. I think this couple might have been better served to get together over more than one book - while Hawley is sensitive to Eleanor's PTSD and Ben's anxiety disorder, it's just a lot for one book to really get through - plus a subplot where Ben's sister is running for mayor, PLUS a lot of steamy spice (love me some spice, but it isn't character development).
So yeah, this one was my least favorite of the Glimmer Falls series. I didn't hate it! I thought it was largely cute. But it was a little too stuffed, a little too ambitious, a little too rushed.
4.5! What a laugh-out-loud delight! I didn’t know this was part of a series, but after the time I had reading this, I’ll definitely be reading the others!
This was sooo much fun. I love the wackiness of the world and all the silly magical names (ClipClop influencer might’ve been my fave). Eleanor and Ben were adorable! They worked so well together and I loved how they showed up for each other in times of stress. This was steamier than I would’ve expected! Very excited to go back and read the first book.
The biggest thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for this arc. I’m so very thankful I was given the chance to read this book early. It was sickly cute in all the best ways!
Ben is the world’s most timid werewolf. He’s an anxiety ridden bleeding heart, sweet as pie, an introvert, and would rather spend his days surrounded by plants than running around the town trying to get his sister elected as mayor. But that’s not in the cards for him. Instead he’s logistics manager for the campaign, and the new (accidental) owner of a terrifyingly hot vampire succubus minion.
Eleonore is not from this time, a little murderous, and proving to be more than Ben bargained for on Ebay. But oddly, she’s so endearing. The vampire has been cursed for the rest of her years to obey the owner of her crystal prison. But when her crystal falls into Ben’s hands, she’s not expecting the quiet wolf to sympathize with her. She hasn’t experienced kindness in years, and doesn’t know what to do with herself. Much to her surprise, Ben is determined to help her gain her freedom.
I loved every minute of this book. I’m new to this author but can easily see why everyone fell in love with her. This adorable paranormal book was such a quick read. The characters were so fun. Despite jumping into the series, it was super easy to understand. It’s filled with cameos from the first books. It gave me enough context to understand who was who, and made me interested in finding out more.
Eleonore was such a great character and by far my favorite out of the bunch. She’s so out of place in this time, but eager to learn. I loved watching her navigate modern day. What really got me was her list of things to look up. I was genuinely cracking up at the things she wanted to know. She had her small stabby missteps, but was doing a great job of keeping up considering. And when she would mess up, it was so very funny. Her hilarious immortalisms had me laughing out loud. Poor Ben was trying so hard to explain her strangeness.
It’s a little bit rom com and a little bit mystery. (Someone keeps sabotaging events!) And I was thoroughly enjoying the combo. The mystery peaked my interest and the romance is what made me stay invested! I was kicking my feet at the way it all played out. There were so many times that I found myself just smiling like a smitten little goober. This one definitely gave me the warm and fuzzies. Ben is a giant marshmallow of a man, but he had me blushing. His little handmade argyle sweaters would have done me in. I’m a sucker for a big burly nerd.
I cannot wait to see what comes next from this author. Sarah Hawley knocked this book out of the park and I’ll definitely be snatching up her next endeavor.
This was so cute and sweet and funny!
With a little bit of a murder-y vampire and an introvert werewolf! Who would’ve thought that they’d made a good couple?!!
This was such a fun read! I loved seeing them come out of their shell and how they fell in love, I love how everyone in Glimmer Falls makes appearances in the books!
I definitely love Ben!
Sarah Hawley does it again. In fact, this might be my favorite installment from the Glitter Falls gang. Ben and Elenore compliment each other perfectly, the romance is sweet and sexy, and Hawley somehow manages to make the mental health rep (Ben's anxiety and Elenore's trauma) realistic, poignant, and just as often hilarious.
This was an amazing book! I haven't read any of the others in this series - but it didn't feel like I was missing anything, and that's a huge achievement. This can be read with others or by itself as a standalone! I thought the characters were fleshed out, the romance was very sweet, and I enjoyed seeing each of them grow and connect. I laughed aloud several times and enjoyed every step of the ride.
When Ben buys a cheap crystal off eBay, he never expected to get a vampire/succubus who is bound to his every order. Horrified by Eleanor's situation, Ben does his best to figure out how to free her amid the chaos of his own life - running his Plant Emporium, helping his sister run for office and trying to knit all the Christmas gifts for his family.
This is the third book in the series - can be enjoyed as a stand alone - that returns to familiar people and places. I didn't enjoy this book as much as the previous two installments - Eleanor is a little too manic for me - but it's a solid piece of the series, especially if you are interested in the subplots that carry through the series.

This was definitely cute. What I was expecting for this kind of book. A quick fun read to read between books.
I love love love Glimmer Falls! Sarah Hawley is back at it with this latest installment. Werewolf and plant emporium owner Ben works hard at managing his anxiety and keeping his life calm and organized. One drunken eBay purchase later and his world is turned upside down by Eleanora, a vampire succubus cursed to a crystal for the past 600 years. Ben must step outside his comfort zone to help break the curse and falls in love with the daring and gorgeous vampire along the way. I loved the flirting, chemistry and steam this book had! The magical elements are so fun and it truly was a delightful rom com.
