You should already know that I immediately read this book as soon as I was able to read it early on. And I have to say that I truly enjoyed reading it. It was such a cute yet steamy romance read.
Ben, as the main character, is such a cute surprise. Typically, we have females as the leading main characters, but Ben finds himself in a bit of a predicament. He has been trying to find someone in his life romantically, but ultimately falls behind. And it doesn't help that he gets drunk at his close friend's wedding and bids something on eBay.
I find it funny that he bid on something while he was drunk. Everyone knows that you can't shop while you are drinking. It's always going to end up biting you, which literally kind of happened when he brought a cursed vampire succubus and arrived at his home. I laughed so hard when he realized his mistakes and what's going to happen over the next few weeks.
Was a huge fan of this book! This is the perfect read for the fall and Halloween season! I had read the witch’s guide to fake dating a demon and this was no exception! Perfect mix of fantasy and romance! Ben and Eleonore’s chemistry was amazing and loved their character development. Anything this author comes out with I am always obsessed with

Werewolf Ben Rosewood's life is constantly busy but also lonely. As the owner of a popular Florist Emporium he is about to expand to include a community center/cafe/theater space, a caring and supportive friend and brother, and a chronic overthinker, Ben just hasn't found the time or energy to date in a while. After arriving home drunk from a friend's wedding he bids on what he thinks is a faux-haunted plastic gemstone online. To his surprise when it arrives a few days later he is now the "owner" of the gemstone and the 600-year-old, sexy-as-sin, Succubus-Vampire hybrid assassin. Suddenly he feels even more out of his depth than usual. On the flip side Eleanora has been suspended in a weird sleep-stasis-type condition for around 600yrs. Having been tricked into servitude and later forced to kidnap and kill at someone else's behest she has a hard time trusting anyone and cannot understand why Ben is being kind to her or even wants to free her from his "service". What feels like a story of opposites attract/ forced proximity ends up being (well that, but also) a love story that brings two misunderstood souls together in a way that allows them to support and care for the other. Their dynamic could have been a very abuse of power situation instead its much more even with each being very aware of the other's boundaries and needs - ultimately making them equal partners in romance.
I'm a big fan of Sarah Hawley and Glimmer Falls in general... I like how she subverts common bookish expectations and displays (what I assume is her own) progressive views through a fun twisting of phrases and ideas and lots of banter. And this book was no different. Generally, I would have given it 5 stars except that I had a hard time with her describing a Jewish-adjacent/coded male character as being intact without offering any discussion or comment on the subject. (Disclaimer) I am not Jewish but it felt odd to me for the first MMC to be described as uncircumcised to be someone whose book refers to Judaism and where even the name feels Jewish. (I'm not sure I'm expressing this well but: Benjamin is a Hebrew/Old Testament name and while English in origin, Rosewood as a compound nature last name feels similar to names like Feldman, Goldstein, Bloomberg etc). He also is known to attend Jewish holidays and Sabbath meals and his larger family/wolfpack is referred to by a hyphenated last name "Rosewood-Levine". If both Oz and Asteroth from the previous books had also been described as being intact I don't think I would have noticed or cared but this combination eeked me. As said there is no real reason why he couldn't be intact, I just wish it were either addressed better or left out as it wasn't a necessary detail. (I did ask some Jewish friends about it, though they haven't read the book yet, and they too felt that it was odd and potentially problematic).

Things in this book: Anxiety Rep, an evening of uneven power imbalance, political intrigue, forgiveness and 2nd chances, knitting, cozy fantasy, small town romance, cinnamon roll werewolf MC, badass tough chick FMC.
I really enjoyed this book and the world that was built, the couple and their dynamics. It was such a fun read and i loved the jokes that were throughout the book. Pop culture references are always fun to read about in a fantasy world and i enjoyed it. Thanks again to Netgally and the publishers for letting me have early access to read this book. I had no idea when i requested to read this book that it was apart of a series, and it’s definitely left me wanting more, i’ll definitely be picking up the other two, and recommending it to the shoppers in my store.
This book hooked me in from the first chapter. I loved the character development and how the story progressed.
A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire is the third book in the Glimmer Falls’ series, but can be read as a standalone– unfortunately, if you read it as a standalone, you’ll receive spoilers for the previous two books right out of the gate. I understand some context for recurring characters, but some paragraphs were quite literally summarizations of the character’s arc within their respective stories.
Maybe reading this as a standalone ruined my enjoyment of it, since I was often confused or overwhelmed with the sheer number of returning characters and concepts. Additionally, going into this book I expected more supernatural elements from the titular characters, but found little beyond surface level once a month shifting and vampiric speed. It just wasn’t living up to its title, in my opinion– especially considering how the vampire (who’s part succubus for some reason?) was the one to seduce the werewolf!
The charm in this book was undeniable– the characters were fun, the town was magical, the dialogue was quirky–but I felt like that charm often overshadowed the plot. Oftentimes characters would get sidetracked on silly topics, which I enjoyed until it kept happening.
Finally, while I do think Ben and Eleanore are a sweet couple, I thought their relationship moved way too fast to be believable, and I’ve already suspended a lot of disbelief reading this book. I think Ben needs a slower love, since he’s a beautifully written introvert/ people-pleaser character that Eleanore began to get to open up to her, and the chemistry between them was a classic “opposites attract”. Eleanore felt a little flat in comparison, though, and I feel like her character didn’t develop as much as Ben’s did.
Overall, I think this romcom just lacked balance between the rom and the com. I did enjoy it, but I probably won’t be reading the other two books since I basically now know what happens– though I may check the first one out for Ben. Just such a great character, I love an introverted werewolf himbo.
Oh gosh, I liked this one a LOT more than I thought I would, it felt so good to dip back into Glimmer Falls. This series contains a fantasy world where (for the most part) ALL supernatural creatures and humans live together in harmony. At least in Glimmer Falls they do.
Cue Ben, a warewolf who loves to knit … wear sweater vests and has anxiety. A little role reversal from most werewolves you’ve met before and then he gets drunk and buys a cursed vampire who’s entrapped in a crystal to obey the owners commands on ebay because it’s 99 cents and surely it can’t be real. Ah, but it is.
This story was a fun whirlwind ride through the relationship evolution and changing Glimmer Falls. This book has grown on me so much I wish I could go there and experience the town and the characters myself. I look forward to more from this series, a solid 4.5 star read and a series any romantasy reader should check out.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkeley Publishing Group for the advanced copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

A romance of the caliber of Helen Hoang. Fun, the stakes were high enough to keep the plot going, and incredibly mental health aware. Also, amazingly sexy.
These books continue to be cozy, witchy, and charming! This one wasn't my favorite of the series but they are still the perfect way to feel fall vibes even in the summer. I love a cute small town and the mystical just enhances the appeal! More werewolves, please.
I loved this book! It was everything I wanted it to be.
I have enjoyed reading the Glimmer Falls books so far, but the main issue I have had with them has been the world-building, which has been so-so. I think this book managed to flesh that out a bit, which I liked a lot.
I adored the characters, which has been a great strength in this series. I love Ben, he's your average romance protagonist in some ways, but he's also unique and I love the traits that set him apart. Eleanora was equally compelling, partially because I liked meeting new species in this world, and partially because she's a female quasi-immortal and we don't see a lot of those! The conflict in this one was also top-knotch, with both characters dealing with internal and external conflicts. I love how their friendship grows and their issues felt naturally occuring and not artificially created.
Ben might be my favorite character, and I love seeing him be cared for! Eleanora is also just a fun, weird character with a lot going on.
I think this book is very strong, probably the best in the series, though I did enjoy both of the others!
A WEREWOLF’S GUIDE TO SEDUCING A VAMPIRE had me giggling while I read—it was hilarious and absolutely delightful! I was thrilled to receive this arc because I enjoyed the other Glimmer Falls books so much. They’re some of my favorite romance novels. This next installment in the series was just as good as the first two and had me captivated from start to finish!!
The premise itself was so funny. Ben, our werewolf main character, gets drunk and mopey about his single status and during this time, ends up buying a “magic crystal” for 99 cents off of eBay. To his surprise, when the plastic crystal arrives, there’s a vampire succubus woman named Eleanore trapped in it 😂 they go on an adventure to try and free her from the curse that binds her to the crystal and fall in love in the process.
I loved so many things about this book. One of those was the way Ben’s anxiety is depicted. It felt incredibly real and it was a big part of the character’s life. However, it didn’t keep him from being lovable and Eleanore goes out of her way to accommodate his mental health, even standing up for him when he has trouble doing it himself.
Eleanore also deals with a lot of difficult things, especially as she deals with getting revenge on her former captor. She also has to learn a lot about the modern world, which she does via Star Trek, her only point of reference 😂 I also loved how much she adored Ben and learned to trust him over time.
Of course there were cameos of our other favorite couples—Mariel & Oz and Calladia & Astaroth make appearances and help our characters on their quest! There’s experimental theater performances, heart-to-hearts as characters develop, and a great amount of spice.
As per usual, this Glimmer Falls book was a 5 star read for me and I’ll definitely be rereading it at some point! Huge thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for providing me an arc copy. 💜
First book of the series that I’ve read and I’m hooked! Definitely need to get my hands on the other two. This books had the cinnamon roll boyfriend, which I love and the seductively, vicious fmc.
Ben the cute and lovable werewolf and Elenore the hot succubus vampire. I loved the intense chemistry they had. And so many parts had me laughing. They both set out on a journey to break Eleanore’s curse. All while juggling other life tasks. This was such a cute and cozy read. My little Halloween loving heart feels so full. And the SPICE was spicy! Thank you NetGalley for the arc
Sarah Hawley's books are always entertaining and a good time. I enjoyed the first two books in the series and I was excited to read another book that was set in Glimmer Falls. Ben is a very lovable character and Eleanore was so entertaining; I liked the references to Star Trek and how that was her point of reference for the modern world. My only complaint about this book, and it's super minor, was that the story was at times too similar to the second book. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to Hawley's future work.
I was slightly disappointed with this one. I did not connect to Ben and Eleonore the way I did with the other characters. I found myself not enjoying the subplots in this book as much. I thought Eleonore’s witch hunt was amusing but not nearly as amusing as Oz or Astaroth‘s stories. I liked Ben but I did not enjoy the Gigi for mayor storyline and found myself wanting to skip those parts. It was nice to see all of my favorite characters showing up. I figured Lilith would’ve dropped Kai by now and was pleased to see they’re still together. lol.
Overall this was a slower read for me because I just couldn’t fully get into it. But I did enjoy how the overall story came together. For me personally it was my least favorite in the series but still a good read.

LOVE! I had to catch up and read book two before I could get to this arc and no regrets because book two is also amazing, but Ben and Eleonore were so much fun! I think we need more socially awkward sweater vest-wearing werewolves in literature. With their bombshell vampire counterparts of course.
Ben - a large werewolf as is the trope, is balanced out by his beautiful soul and constant battle with anxiety. When he drunkly purchases Eleonore's crystal and finds out what he is ACTUALLY in possession of, he is so apologetic. Having the sweet moments where he helps her and is gentle as she adjusts to being in the 21st century, but also being thought of as a person was truly the loveliest. I loved how Eleonore also learns his quirks and how to help him when his anxiety gets too high, they were truly a balance for each other.
Eleonore- what a character. She is also struggling with mental health as she has been essentially an enslaved assassin for 6 centuries, but also has spent most of that in a fog where she doesn't get to grow and learn. Her acting performances were quite something, I cant imagine seeing one in real life, but I loved how she grows and the meanings of her performances were so freeing. Also her being so hopped up on caffeine that she was crawling on the ceiling was hilarious.
The underlying plot revolves around freeing Eleonore and her learning to trust Ben, as since he is in possession of her crystal he can also command her to do anything, and while I think many authors would not be able to do this power discrepancy justice, Sarah Hawley handles it with perfection. Considering there is mature scenes and the characters fall in love during this imbalance, it never felt sleazy or worrisome. Ben being so kind and so unwilling to abuse that power is highlighted throughout their exchanges, even from the very beginning. I adore this series and can't wait for Sarah's next book.
The romance drew me in, but I struggled with the background storylines. The were beyond predictable and didn’t add any interest for me personally.
While I love the world of Glimmer Falls, I think so much more could be explored (especially 3 books in).
Good for fans of the series already.
I really enjoyed this read! I have not read the first two books, but I’ve added them to my TBR. However, I didn’t need to read them to understand what was going on in this book, which is always nice.
I adore the way Hawley developed the MCs relationship. They fell in love naturally through shared experiences, no insta-love here. Big fan of that! The subplot was interesting and wrapped up satisfactorily. The romance was very good. Consensual sex, vocal about boundaries, well-written.
I am definitely going to recommend this is romance readers. Even if readers don’t usually like a fantasy aspect to their romance, I’d suggest they try this one. I loved that it was modern day, kind of AU, and I think that will appeal to non-fantasy romance readers. Overall, this was a 4/5 for me! Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this title. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I loved the first two books in this series. I was so excited when Berkley Publishing approved my Netgalley request for book 3! Sarah Hawley takes fantasy elements and marries them to steamy contemporary romcoms and makes them accessible to readers like me who don’t read fantasy. Who would have thought I had a thing for werewolf/vampire-succubus spice! Whew! [fans self] That was hot! I loved both main characters so much. The MMC is the perfect cinnamon roll who gives and gives to everyone and forgets to care for himself. And the FMC is the badass that makes sure he’s cared for. In multiple ways. <wink>
The plot was more simple than the previous two books, but I felt like there was a lot more character development because of that. And I loved the continuation of the arcs of character from books one and two. Glimmer Falls is an amazing place, and I wish I could live there for real. This was a great addition to the series, and I really hope there are more books to come!
Thank you to Berkley and Netgalley for the chance to review this book.
Thank you so much to Berkeley Romance, NetGalley, and Sarah Hawley for an early copy of this book!
Rating- 4.5
Uhm, sorry, but every werewolf book before this has done it wrong.
Yeah, you heard that, Jacob. This is what you could have been.
I am a sucker for this universe Sarah has created- the mixture of urban/paranormal/romantic comedy is a mixture that just fills a void I didn't know existed before I picked these up. And sheesh, does this book feel like a perfect little cherry on top.
"What he would give to be able to love someone with all his neurotic heart . . . but who could possibly love him back?"
There are many things I adored about this book, but Ben, my sweet, sensitive, hunk of a plant-daddy- he was the shining star. His moments of introspection hit so deeply to me- his anxiety, his intrusive thoughts, the self-doubt... it was all relatable to me in a way that had me in tears, my heart aching with being seen.
But, what is a golden retriever without their black cat? Enter Eleonore- our resident succubus/vampire baddie with a penchant for threats of bodily harm and a gold Star Trek reference. She, too, had so many moments that struck me- feeling trapped, controlled, unable to live in her own definition of the word. Watching her character grow and unfurl was so beautiful and I think the author did a really excellent job at giving her a realistic journey into her healing.
And OH. MY. GODS. The spice.
Absolutely, yes.
You know that saying "gentleman in the streets, freak in the sheets?". Yeah, Ben must have heard it, too 🥵
“I don’t receive without giving, Eleonore. If we do this, I’m going to be thorough.”
Overall, this was an amazing read and, as always, I can't wait to see more from this author!
What a little cutie patootie of a book! I really loved A Witches Guide to Fake Dating a Demon, so I assumed I’d like this one as well. It was nice to go back to Glimmer Falls and see it through Ben’s eyes. It was also really nice having a character with anxiety being realistically portrayed. Eleanora was nicely written as well; I enjoyed her thought process and could understand her knee jerk reactions to certain things and situations. It was also very nice to see Cynthia get her s**t rocked and get what was coming to her😌
