DNF @ 35% (right after Eleonora’s performance piece….)
I got this as an ARC and I haven’t read the rest of the series. they are “stand alone” romances… but I disagree. I had a hard time understanding the characters, the town, the vibes and I think part of this lead to the DNF.
Also it was slooooww. Not enough was happening and there were too many characters I didn’t care about. Give me the romance please!
The one spice scene I did read was FIRE, but that wasn’t enough to keep me going. I think if I pushed through I would maybe rate it a 2.5-3, it has potential, but life is short and I have a long tbr!!
I am a total sucker for this world, these characters, and this series. This was another 5 star read for me. Alternating POV, meet cute, enemies to lovers, all in a magical world? Yes please.
The chemistry is so well written and I loved finally getting a book from Ben's point of view.
Huge thank you @berkleypub and @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
.
Ben is doing ok. He has a successful business, he’s single but his family isn’t thrilled that he’s almost 40 and still a single werewolf. His family just wants him to be a happily partnered werewolf, is that too much to ask!?!
In comes a magic crystal and a very angry vampire which might be the answer to the happiness question. There is a fun one for spooky season!
Thank you, Netgalley, the author, and Berkley Publishing for the gifted e-book! ❤️ #gifted. My review is comprised of my honest thoughts.
Read this book if you like: Dual POV, paranormal romance, mental health, roomies
This is a great series. It's fun, cozy, and sweet. This one did not disappoint. The premise is so different than books I have read, in a good way. I definitely recommend it!
In A Werewolf's Guide to Seducing a Vampire, Sarah Hawley crafts a delightful paranormal romance that combines humor with heart. The story follows Eleanora, a cursed werewolf, who teams up with Ben, a charming vampire, to navigate their supernatural challenges while fostering a blossoming romance. Their journey is filled with witty banter, suspenseful moments, and plenty of swoon-worthy scenes, making it a treat for fans of supernatural small-town love stories. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, and Hawley's knack for creating relatable and engaging personalities ensures readers will be eagerly anticipating more tales from this enchanting world.
I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.
Ben Rosewood is happy with his life, but he knows that it could be better, and his wish for romance is made even more clear at his best friend's wedding, after which he drunkenly orders a plastic gemstone that happens to contain the imprisoned succubus Eleanora Bettencourt-Devereux, and boy is she angry. Imprisoned centuries ago by the Witch in the Woods, she vowed to get revenge as soon as she is freed, and she thinks that Ben is just weak enough to control, especially when she can sense his attraction to her. However, Eleanora soon sees that Ben is someone kind and caring, who runs himself ragged to help those he loves, and he's doing the same for her. It's time for her to give back, and save him from himself.
I've been looking forward to Ben's book for a while now, and his story was even better than I could expect it to be. Ben and Eleanora were such a great couple, but I loved how they started their relationship from a place of tenuous friendship, with Eleanora have walls greater than the Great Wall of China, that Ben slowly chipped at until he carved his name on her heart. The mystery element of this book wasn't as strong as in the previous books I would say, but nonetheless, the book was fantastic. I really liked seeing the Scooby Gang all together, and especially with the added input from Ben's sister, Gigi's, political campaign.
A fun cute paranormal romance perfect for the fall season. Ben, an anxious werewolf makes a drunken decision to bid on an ancient "crystal" on eBay that is said to contain a special companion. When a package arrives the last thing he expects is for it to contain Eleonore a vampire succubus hybrid who has been trapped in the crystal and is forced to obey the commands of whoever owns the crystal. Ben was endearing, sweet, attentive, and extremely caring which made him the perfect person for Eleonore who was funny, jaded, confused, and a little violent. I also appreciated how their dynamic changed throughout the book especially as Eleonore learned to trust Ben and started to care for him too. I liked the pacing and different plots and thought it was overall a really fun easy book. The spice was fun and it fit the whole vibe of the book well. The side characters added an extra flare that gave this book a touch of found family and I really enjoyed it.
I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.
I aboslutely loved this book.
Small town vibes, supernatural world, and just a perfect spooky season rom-com.
Ben is so sweet and relatable. It's the first time I've read a MMC with such intense social anxiety and it was so relatable. He's just so sweet, so content to take care of those around him, he's a people pleaser to his core and I just adored him. I loved that despite him being a werewolf, who are typically represented as tough and intense, he had such simplistic and calming hobbies.
Eleanora is so funny, unintentionally, which makes it even funnier. Watching her become a modern witch was such a journey, I loved seeing her learn about the modern world.
The spice and tension between her and Ben is incredible. Watching them walk flit around each other was just *chef's kiss* perfection.
These books in the Glimmer Falls series just keep getting better and better! If you're looking for a cozy, magical fall rom-com...please read this series.
Ben Rosewood's life is going well. He's the owner of a plant emporium, and sure, he's a bit overwhelmed knitting gifts for his family. And he feels like he's the only werewolf who hates shifting. His life quickly turns upside down when he purchases a crystal off of e-Bay. When the crystal arrives in the mail, what Ben doesn't expect is an attractive vampire to appear.
Eleanora has been trapped inside of the crystal for 600 years, cursed by a witch. Now Ben has his hands full with a new roommate who doesn't understand modern society, and the two of them are set on finding the witch to break the curse.
Ben was the PERFECT shy, sweet, sweater-vest wearing MMC. He was giving pathological people pleaser. I love him so much, and he and Eleanora complemented each other so well. I loved their tension and chemistry. It honestly was refreshing to see a MMC in a paranormal/fantasy romance that wasn't all "alpha" and morally gray. Ben was such a cinnamon roll, and he was so respectful and caring of Eleanora.
I also LOVE the trope where an immortal character has to adjust to modern society. This was done so well with Eleanora. I loved how willing she was to learn, and how black cat she seemed. And her quirky theatre gig was iconic.
The humor and found family in this book was unmatched. I love the extensive friend group and how supportive they were of each other. I was laughing out loud so many times when reading. Couldn't recommend more!
Thank you so much to Berkley Romance for sending me a copy of A Werewolf's Guide to Seducing a Vampire. As always, my reviews are one hundred percent voluntary and all opinions are my own :)
Is it a surprise that I enjoyed this one? No... But what IS a surprise is that this one just might be my favorite of the series, because I thought there was absolutely NO way anything could top my love for Astaroth and Calladia
(I mean come on, the antagonist of book one with the heroine’s best friend?? elite)
But this one was a delight in every. concievable. way.
I identified so closely with Ben (my favorite little introvert) and Eleonore was a terrifying badass vampire while at the same time being the cutest being ever?!? Like, I just want to put them both in my pocket and protect them forever... I also DEVOURED this one in close to one sitting, which hasn’t happened in a while
So yeah, it was such a wonderful read from start to finish, and cemented this series as an all-time favorite!
What a bittersweet joy to have arrived at the final installment of the Glimmer Falls series! This magical little world has been so comfortable and fun to spend three books in, and I hate to leave it behind. This last entry into the series may have been my favorite yet though! Ben was a rather unexpected choice of Mariel’s friends to become the lead, but I ended up being really fond of him. He and Eleanora are a very cute pair. Overall, an enjoyable conclusion to a fun series! I can’t wait to check out what this author puts out next
I love Sarah Hawley and the universe that these characters live in! A half vampire half succubus?? Yes, please. A sweet, if not grumpy, werewolf that knits? More yes, please. Hawley writes with such ease and you quickly get enveloped by her characters.
3.5 stars. This was such an enjoyable read! It was light, entertaining, and definitely filled with humour! I read it in one sitting and enjoyed it from start to finish. I would have liked the werewolf to be a little more... wolfish? But other than that this is a book I can only recommend!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

such a fun read! this is book three in the series, but i do think you can read as a stand alone. the other characters are featured, but it didn’t really pose an issue (imo at least!)
i really enjoyed this lil spooky number featuring a shy, nerdy werewolf and a powerful, slightly vengeful vampire/succubus. welcome to glimmer falls though! these two are just a few of many that live here. we also see demons, witches, and more in a place home to those with magic or special abilities 🐺🧛🏻♀️❤️
i would recommend this one to anyone looking to kick off their spooky season romcom tbr! also definitely read the other two if you have time because they are delightful as well!
my only complaint with this book was we maybe featured a little too much of the mmc’s sister. i could’ve cut that out, lost a few pages, and then it would’ve been absolute perfectjon ☺️🫶🏻
This was super cute! I loved learning more about Ben and seeing snippets of the other Glimmer Falls couples throughout. As always, there is an abundance of hijinks in the magical town of Glimmer Falls. When Ben's sister, Gigi, decides to run for mayor and rope Ben onto her team while Ben has also purchased a crystal that just so happens to contain an almost-immortal vampire succubus assassin.
Eleonore and Ben were hilarious, and I love how they were both so protective of each other in different ways. Eleonore learning about the modern world was hilarious.
All in all, a super fun and fluffy magical read.
This was so cute! It’s probably my favorite from the three because I LOVED or main characters. Eleanore was so weird and aggressive, and Ben was so sweet and anxious. It was fun, fast-paced, and I loved reading about all the other characters we’ve met in the previous books too.
This was by far my favorite book in the Glimmer Fall series. While parts of it seemed a little rushed and forced, as with the first two books, Ben was by far my favorite love interest. He had a depth to him that I feel the other characters were missing. The plot line did not feel as rushed as the other books did as well.
The only thing really knocking my rating down is the Cynthia Cunningham plot and the miscommunication at the end of the book. Miscommunication tropes are the worst, and if that hadn't happened, this book would have ranked higher.
Overall I felt the character development was there with Eleanore, as well as Ben. We even saw character development with some side characters as well, with this book feeling more character driven than plot driven
This was such a unique, well-developed, spicy fantasy story that I need more of. I love fantasy romance as much as the next person, and they felt so grounded at times I forgot I was ready bout a vampire and werewolf. I will be reading more of this series!
I had no idea what to expect going into this book, but I was pleasantly surprised at the originality of the characters and the storyline! I liked the anti- toxic masculinity in the MMC and that the FMC was a little rougher around the edges. I’m definitely glad I read this one in the fall and would definitely recommend!
