I LOVED THIS BOOK. This is like the cozy version of Immortals After Dark where all the immortals acknowledge their trauma and where finding a mate doesn't solve all of your problems - it just makes life that much better to go through when you're in it together.
So, what happens. Werewolf Ben gets drunk at his friends' wedding and orders a "succbus-vampire sexy rock" from eBay for $0.99. When the plastic rock actually arrives a few days later, it turns out it actually houses a 30-year-old Vampire/Succubus who's been around for 600 years (it's complicated) and who's magically compelled to follow the orders of whoever owns her rock.
Look, this sounds like bonkers fun, right? A lot of times I'll be lured in by the promise of "bonkers!" only to discover a lot of serious issues hiding beneath. And no, this book doesn't gloss over its characters' mental health. But I'm someone who just can't sit back and enjoy the bananapants plot if one of the characters is too mean. Anxious werewolf Ben, who's the sunshine, and trauma-ridden Succubus/Vampire Eleanore, who's the grump, are two characters who are truly doing their best to be decent people. Plus, I actually laughed out loud at several points, meaning that this was a true romcom.
I also loved the way consent was handled. Keep in mind that Eleanore has to follow the orders of whoever owns her rock, meaning that she has to follow any command Ben issues. Since she understandably has some trauma wrapped up in being ordered to do ANYTHING, their intimate encounters end up being all about her taking charge. This may be my fatigue with all of the "good girl" praise kink novels around these days, but it was really refreshing to read a "good wolf" scene here or there!
In other words: hilarious paranormal romcom that's also super sexy and a ton of fun to read. Don't miss this one.
This objective review is based on a complimentary copy of the novel.
Ben Rosewood is an anxious, introverted werewolf who knits and owns his own plant emporium. He drunkenly orders a plastic crystal on eBay only to find it is holding a vampire succubus captive. Eleanora Bettencourt-Devereux has been tied to the crystal for 600 years by the Witch of the Woods and must do whatever the owner of the crystal says, including murdering their enemies. While Ben is calm and gentle, Eleanora is wild and stabby. They start to fall for each other and go on a mission to reverse the witches curse.
This is the third book in The Glimmer Falls series but can be read on its own. I accidentally started with the second book but it’s not been a problem. This one is steamy and quirky and fun. The forced proximity and opposites attract characters are both things I enjoy in books. It’s funny to see a vampire succubus try to acclimate to modern times in a small town full of diverse paranormal characters. If you need something a little different and not too serious pick this one up. Though it does deal with some themes of mental health and trauma, it doesn’t overwhelm the story. I love this little group of quirky unique characters:)
A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire by Sarah Hawley is a paranormal romance novel. What a unique and slightly bizarre (in a good way) story. I like a book about the intermingling of supernatural creatures. The plot is very well thought out and well developed. The author made you feel like you were there within the story.
The characters were funny and someone you would want to know. They also were complete opposites but opposites attract sometimes. Sometimes you need the calm to balance all the extra energy. I adored them together.
This book was a great read. I am going to read the rest of her books now.
I think this is my favorite of the Glimmer Falls romances! I love how Sarah Hawley subverts expectations for the magical species she writes about. Ben is an anxious werewolf who hates shifting and who works himself to the bone. Eleanore is a vampire succubus with poor impulse control and anger issues. They couldn’t be more different, but they are still perfect for each other! I loved seeing them learn how to best support each other while being thrust together by chance or fate. This was a great conclusion to this wonderful small-town romance series.
I’ve read the first 2 books to this series and had already loved the idea and the writing style!! But the characters always seem more well rounded when you get finished reading another part of a series , personally I loved this book!! The love hate relationship, the enemies to lovers . I love that their personalities balance each other out and the idea of the book itself is very outta the ordinary and kept me interested the entire time!! Definitely a 10/10 for me and it came at the perfect time ,fall season this book is a must!
I loved the first two Glimmer Falls novels, and this is no exception! Ben and Eleonore were the perfect balance for each other, and the chemistry was hot!!
I loved that we got glimpses of the full cast and that both previous books came into play too! I really really recommend this series!!
I honestly didn't think I’d like it BUT WOW I WAS WRONG! It’s a mix of fantasy and contemporary romance, I love those genres. It was enjoyable 💓 This is my first Sarah Hawley book, so I will be reading A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon And A Demon's Guide to Wooing a Witch. I can’t wait! I loved Ben and couldn’t stop reading about Eleanora and her adjusting to a new time! It all tied up nicely, and it kinda set the motion of reading cozy romance books for me!
Welcome back to Glimmer Falls 😈
This third volume by @mssarahhawley was one of my most anticipated romance reads of the year. I loved A Witches Guide to Fake Dating a Demon and A Demon’s Guide to Wooing a Witch, so it was very exciting to return to this world and these characters.
This time it is Ben the Werewolf’s turn to find his Soulmate. He may be my favorite of three MMC’s in the series. Awkward but genuinely caring, Ben struggles with feeling lonely after seeing his friends find love. But in true Ben fashion he doesn’t feel right about dating apps, instead finding himself on an EBay site after drinking more than he should. He is amused by an ad for a trinket for $0.99 that is said to contain a vampiric succubus cursed to do whatever the owner commands. When his purchase arrives, he quickly realizes this was not a silly joke! OOPS?!? 😬 Enter Eleonore!
Things love about Ben are his sweater vests, his desire not to kill bunnies when he turns in the full moon, and his horror at the idea that El is compelled to do whatever he tells her to. His refusal to do so is such a great way to discuss themes of consent and where the line is between request and command.
Meanwhile Eleonore clearly has some trauma to work out, being imprisoned for hundreds of years only to do what the witch that owned her blue crystal orders. That would give anyone trust issues. Her one guilty pleasure is her fandom of the Star Trek universe. And, for me at least, this book is worth reading for the Star Trek jokes alone🩷🩷🩷 thanks @mssarahhawley
While there were some parts that could be paced better, this was a very fun time. If you loved the mix of banter, spice, humor and social commentary found in the previous books, you will likely enjoy this one as well.
Thanks to @berkleyromance and @netgalley for the eARC
This was a first for me by this author and in this series and I will absolutely be reading the others! Thank you to Berkley for the free book.
This gives Kimberly Lemming That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon vibes just set in current times. It was so funny and the worldbuilding was seamless. We have modern day conveniences but also magic and the benefits but also pitfalls of those things coexisting.
I hadn't ever ventured into Succubus monster romance territory and I loved it in this one. The FMC is half succubus half vampire and the MMC is a reluctant werewolf. When he releases her from being trapped on and off for centuries (she's only lived 30 years otherwise was just essentially frozen) it was just freaking adorable them figuring out how to adapt to each other, eventually falling in love obviously. She is such a black cat and he is very much a golden retriever.
I also liked the mental health rep in this, the MMC has anxiety and does have some on page panic attacks. By the end this isn't solved by true love, it just simply is. He still experiences anxiety just now with a supportive partner at his side.
There's just so much modern day adventure in this as they try to reverse her curse and a random side plot of the MMC's sister running for mayor (idk it worked for me though), I just had a great time reading it!
Werewolf Ben Rosewood is happy with his business and how he handles his anxiety as well as monthly transformations. There's no time for romance, even if he's forty and his family wants him to settle down. After drunkenly winning a supposedly possessed crystal on eBay one night, he meets angry vampire Eleonore Bettencourt-Devereux. She is a rare vampire succubus born in medieval times, cursed by a witch to be stuck in a crystal and obey its owner. Eleonore wants to break the spell, destroy the witch, and maybe Ben. But Eleonore and Ben soon realize they can help each other with both vengeful and less hostile needs. And why not have a little fun along the way?
Ben is anxious and tries so hard to make everyone around him comfortable. He does dozens of projects, renovates his business to expand, and then helps his sister with a bid to become mayor. It keeps his anxiety at bay but runs him ragged. The half vampire half succubus is an unexpected addition to his life, and he's appalled when he discovers she must fulfill every demand he makes. He wants to help her break the spell, and in the meantime, they're both attracted to each other. The two have various activities together in town and in tracking down the witch. The pair complement each other well, and look out for their best interests. Together they make a great couple in this paranormal romance.
This was a cute, cozy story with found family. I enjoyed the fact that the male main character was a nerdy werewolf with anxiety. Ultimately, it felt way too long for what it was and the sister had way too prominent of a plot line for this to not even be her book. I lost interest sadly but have liked the others in this connected series!
It’s too long!!! It’s adorable but it’s too long. Nothing happens for long periods of time and they give too much background details and not enough story.
Thank you berkleyromance for the free book & PRHAudio for the complimentary audiobook!

🫶🏽What I enjoyed
I loved returning to Glimmer Falls &adding more characters to my favorites list! It was time for another adventure to break the curse put on Eleonore, while supporting Ben’s sister with her campaign for mayor against Cynthia, who we all *hate* from previous books. Eleonore spent decades trapped in a crystal, so watching her learn about the modern world and make some outdated mistakes was highly entertaining, &seeing her soften up with Ben’s loving nature was sweet. I just love the whole friends group in this series, and Lilith was a fantastic addition with all of her chaotic glory!

🔥Spice Note
Due to the nature of succubus and vampire lore, I feel like there were stronger sexual undertones in this book compared to previous books, but it still very much has a plot
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I accidentally jumped into this series with this one, the third book, and it works just fine as a standalone (but I definitely enjoyed this one enough to go back to the rest of the series!). This is funny, charming, steamy, and the magic and lore are easily comprehensible.
Thanks to Berkley Romance for inviting me to participate in the Blog Tour!
This is a fun paranormal romance that will make you smile.
Ben is a werewolf who’s happy with his life, his plant emporium is doing well and he’s busy with his family. One night on a drunken whim, he bids on a possessed jewel on EBay. When it arrives, he’s flabbergasted to find a gorgeous vampire succubus named Eleanora inside. She’s been there a long time and must obey the crystal’s owner.
Eleanora quite literally changes Ben’s life. He has no intention of keeping her as a slave and wants to break the spell that’s trapping her. In the meantime, Eleanora needs to learn how to live in the modern world. Her only exposure to TV has been Star Trek TNG, which leases to some funny assumptions! Ben also has to figure out how to manage their growing attraction and relationship. Can these two very different personalities have a happy ever after?
I really enjoyed this book, 4.5 stars.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley, I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I absolutely loved being back in Glimmer Falls. I felt like I was at a big ole friends reunion. I love these characters so much. The tension between Ben and Eleonore is palpable. Get ready for steam!! Is it hot in here or just me? Phew.

A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire by Sarah Hawley
🐺
Each book in this series gets better and better! Ben is a neurotic werewolf with social anxiety who knits his own sweater vests, and Eleonore is a 600-year-old vampire succubus with rage issues and no understanding of the modern world. They were perfect for each other and their relationship was so adorable. This book made me laugh out loud multiple times. When Eleonore performs onstage for the first time, I was cackling. This is the perfect cozy fantasy to read going into soooky season. It’s whimsical, has a cute small town, is romantic, and has magic. I highly recommend it!

Thank you to Berkley, NetGalley, and Sarah Hawley for the ARC. I received an advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Gosh, y’all, I just really enjoy being back in Glimmer Falls. There’s nothing quite like Sarah Hawley’s whimsical town with its fantastical and paranormal residents.
This time around plant-loving, sweater-vest-wearing, gentle werewolf Ben Rosewood finds love in the most unlikeliest of ways.
After drunkenly ordering a plastic crystal on eBay the night of Oz and Mariel’s wedding, Ben finds himself in possession of that crystal's resident, a vampire-succubus hybrid, who is spellbound to do his bidding.
Having been tied to a witch for the past several centuries and forced to serve as her assassin, Eleanore Bettencourt-Devereux is not inclined to trust anyone. Now she has a new master, who swears he does not want to order her around.
A fondness grows between them as Ben and his unexpected houseguest spend more and more time together, caring for each other in large and small ways.
He’s the “soft one”; she’s the “stabby one”; and I love how they work together.
I’m adding this one to my list of comfort reads.
This can be read as a standalone, but honestly, this series is so delightfully quirky that I recommend reading them in order to enjoy the full story arc and backstories behind each of the characters.
5⭐️
I received an advance copy of the book from Berkley and NetGalley. All review opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for providing the ARC.
So I loved the first two books in this series, and I am glad this one did not disappoint.
This book is so delightfully unhinged and I cannot imagine two characters more opposite than Ben and Elenore. He's quiet, she's wild, but these characters are so well-balanced that their chemistry and relationship just makes sense. This book is funny and complex, much in the same vein that the first two are, but it doesn't feel like the author is just rehashing old plot points. It feels new and fresh, even though older characters make an appearance.
This book is a lot of fun and perfect for fans of the first two.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the free digital ARC in exchange for an honest review
I want to start by saying, I haven't read the other 2 books in the ‘Glimmer Falls’ series. The series is loosely connected, with the other characters being in the same circle. I didn't feel lost at all! Yes, knowing the love stories would have been cool but I still had a fun time with our MCs.
I laughed when Eleonore showed up in a plastic gem. She’s a fiery, strong, and surprisingly funny FMC. She showed her love and appreciation for Ben in small acts.
Ben was everything! He's an anxious werewolf, and is an overall softy. Bens anxiety and intrusive thought are some of the most relatable feelings i've read about this year.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Is some of the dialog cringy? Yes, but it made me laugh. Go get this book!!!
