Weird in the best way! Werewolves and vampires are constantly overused in all forms of media. Most commonly horror and romance. So it is sometimes hard for author's writing of vampires and werewolves to stand out. But Hawley does this in the best way. I found myself intrigued from page one. This was a fun read and to me was reminiscent of the first few books in the True Blood series. I really enjoyed it and want more!
The only thing I was conflicted on was tone. While the book was fun I felt the tone of novel was all over the place, especially in the backend of the novel.
4.5 ⭐️
This book was SO cute! 🥹🩷 Ben and Eleonore were so perfect for each other and I adored how well they balanced each other out! We have a sweet, anxious and socially awkward MMC and a hilarious, brave and badass MMC and I completely ate it up! 😍 I loved how Ben always made sure that Eleonore was comfortable while she was exploring her new surroundings along with being around new people.
And the spice?! 😍 it was interesting but I enjoyed it!!😋
This is the third book in the Glimmer Falls series and I had to issue understanding the story without reading the other two. It can definitely be read as a standalone book! Although I would recommend reading the other two first to get the feel of all the characters that make a cameo 🤗
Thank you Berkley and NetGalley for the ARC! 🩷
This was a cute, cozy story with found family. I enjoyed the fact that the male main character was a nerdy werewolf with anxiety. Ultimately, it felt way too long for what it was and the sister had way too involved of a plot line for this to not even be her book. I lost interest sadly.
I read the premise for this book and knew it was for me. I love werewolves and vampires after all.
I found the plot to be entertaining, creative and unique. It kept me guessing and having a blast while reading.
The characters are opposites (not only in species) which made their relationship a lot of fun to read. I liked their dynamic. I liked that Ben was the sunshiney character and Eleanora was the grumpy one. The black cat & golden retriever pairing will always hit. They balance each other perfectly.
I was not expecting hot steamy this was! I mean the biting scene! I dropped my kindle! The chemistry was fire. I also thought the sex scenes were well placed and not overdone. The scenes fit the characters and the story. Their chemistry definitely aided in heating up the pages.
This was my first read by this author so I would say you can read this as a standalone.
Would 100% recommend this one!
Thanks for the early copy Berkley and Netgalley.
I've been with this series since book one, A Witches Guide to Wooing a Werewolf. I needed a sweet romance with some supernatural elements set in modern day and a bit of spice and that's exactly what I got. Book 2 was much of the same but it just felt lacking. I couldn't put my finger on it until I picked up book 3 and realized the main characters, Ben and Eleonore have the perfect opposites attract chemistry that I was looking for. It just hits right.
Ben is open with his emotions and feelings while Eleonore can handle her situations without help thank you very much. However they both allow others to take care of them and all of this is so refreshing to see in fantasy characters. Also the characters are in their 30s and as someone burnt out on teenage and 20 yo fantasy leads, this was a pleasant change.
The tension between the two characters makes makes the build up and the spice so much better than books 1 & 2. I was in a pretty bad reading slump going into this book and I finished it in a day, while I was forcing myself to get through book 2.
I loved how Ben's anxiety was handled, not with kid gloves but with honesty and love. It was refreshing to see that represented.
I think my favorite part overall of this book is how Ben openly emotional without worrying about masculine stereotypes. I think this quote from the FMC sums him up so well : “You’re a complicated man,” Eleonore said. When he grimaced, she clarified. “In a good way. You’re thoughtful and diligent, and you don’t force yourself to fit the stereotype of the overly aggressive macho man.”
5 stars from me. I loved these two so much.
If you’re looking for cozy, paranormal, modern, and spicy this book is perfect for you. The characters are WELL developed and I grew to love them all, including several familiar faces from books 1&2.
In terms of spice… who knew vampire bites could be so hot?? Okay maybe we all knew, but this book double proved that point!! Jessica Rabbit as a vampire succubus meets werewolf himbo teddy bear.
I’m wishing this town had a nice little bed and breakfast so I could go visit… and maybe find my own paranormal boy toy🤞🏻
Quirky, cute, & paranormal. Ben (a werewolf!) accidentally purchases a possessed crystal (oops!) that houses a cursed vampire succubus! Eleanora is thoroughly traumatized by her past experiences with the witch who cursed her, and soft, gentle, plantdaddy Ben is the most perfect man for her healing and cursebreaking!
• This is the third book in a series, but I crossed my fingers and jumped in without having read the other two. It worked just fine as a standalone.
• Ben is the gardening, reading, knitting, emotional, sweater vest wearing, anxious, all around good boy werewolf we didn't know we needed in this subgenre 🙌
• Eleanora is lethal, sweet-but-a-psycho, seductive, and also the perfect, protective vamp for Ben!
• Eleanora can sense Ben's arousal because she's part succubus (I truly had to look this creature up!!) And he's so adorably mortified and concerned that he's sexually harassing her all the time even though she's obviously very, very glad and supportive of these developments! 🤭
• All the creatures that Sarah Hawley created in this Glimmer Falls universe are super charming! I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this series!
Thank you so much Berkley and Netgalley for access to this book!
Book 3 in the glimmer falls series is just as magical as the first two! Ben is the perfect man! Socially awkward and selfless to a fault! When he takes a chance on a eBay order to buy a talisman that he doesn’t believe is real since you can’t get anything for a dollar anymore! But when Eleanor is summoned he realizes he is in for more shenanigans than he thought! Navigating the new world with Eleanor had me literally laughing out loud! And this story may have been the least quest heavy out of the three but Ben and Eleanor just getting to know each other was a quest in its self! I can’t wait to see who is next in the glimmer falls series! As always this story has the fluffy romance I wanted mixed with the fantasy-light (so my brain doesn’t explode from world building) and then we had some good and dirty smut! I loved meeting our local vampire-succubus and our favorite plant store owner werewolf ben!
A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire is a witty and lighthearted love story filled with an excellent cast of magical characters. As the third installment in Sarah Hawley’s Glimmer Falls series, the characters and world-building are well established, but the novel is also easy to read as a standalone.
The male protagonist, Ben, is a werewolf who owns the local plant emporium. Shy, awkward, and highly anxious, he struggles to put himself out there. Through a series of unlikely events, he summons Eleanore, a vampire succubus assassin, who must then honor his every command. Rather than abuse his new power, soft-hearted Ben works with Eleanore to find the witch who cursed her and bring an end to her servitude.
Hawley does an excellent job depicting how strange the modern era would be to a six-hundred-year-old vampire succubus. Eleanore’s reference points from 15th-century France lead to hilarious comments and miscommunications. From offending the “serving wench” at the local gastropub to "witchipedia”-ing topics ranging from the Great Molasses Flood of 1919 to how to turn on the lights, her anachronisms are charming. However, Eleanore is hardly the only immortal (or almost) who has lost grip on reality. Lilith, the original demon, sashays around town dressed as a pirate, while other characters also add to the delightful absurdity.
A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire is a funny, low-angst novel, perfect for the beach or a plane ride. Glimmer Falls is essentially a magical Stars Hollow (the fictional town in Gilmore Girls), giving a sense of familiarity to the dynamics. At times, the light-hearted references can border on cheesy, like Pixtagram and GhoulTube, but most land well, creating a whimsical version of the perfect American town. A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire is silly and endearing, never taking itself too seriously. It is a great novel to mix in amongst heavier reads to add some much needed levity in life.
How cute, I LOVE BEN. He was so kind but a bit awkward and so anxious. He paired SO well with Eleonore, who was a little rough, but honestly, I loved her the most. She was really brave and badass. Given everything she went through and how she handled it, I was impressed. There was a lot of really well-done mental health representation and discussion. I loved that Ben talked about his therapy experience, and it was positive (It's nice to see a positive therapy experience in books!) Ben helped Eleonore, and she helped him heal through their issues.
Even with all the serious issues (Ben and his anxiety, people pleasing, caretaking, etc, and Eleonore and her trust issues, anger issues, and PTSD), the book was REALLY funny. I frequently laughed out loud while reading, and it was such a nice way to lighten it. The whole book was so enjoyable; I loved all the characters, the friends, and the family. I want to live in Glimmer Falls!
Super sweet, funny, and kinda spicy read!
A shy, socially anxious werewolf and an ancient vampire succubus assassin who is bound to a gem? What a set up! This book was so fun - it had Sarah Hawley's signature wit and laugh out loud writing. The tension as a result of the forced proximity? Excellent. Ben's internal monologue? Funny and relatable. Eleanora's journey to gaining independence and finding her place in the world? Heartwarming and engaging. Glimmer Falls is also such a delightful backdrop for this story to be set on - it's basically fantasy Stars Hollow. I can't wait for Sarah's next book!
This series is SO cute and fun, and I am hooked. Supernatural romance with spice, banter, humor, and all-around cuteness. Vampire succubus, witches, our favorite werewolf - what a fun ride!
Thank you to NetGalley for the copy of this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Oh Ben, the sweetest anxious werewolf ever. I’m obsessed with you!! And Eleonore, you crazy succubus vampire!
Ben gets drunk one night after a wedding and orders a crystal that holds a succubus assassin inside. The anxious has no idea what he was getting into when Elenore comes out of the stone.
This book was unhinged and hilarious. But also sweet and swoony! (And of course delicious spicy scenes) Absolutely love being in Glimmer Falls!

Glimmer Falls, how I adored you. Imagine Stars Hollow but make it paranormal, with werewolves and vampires and witches and demons. So good!
I also adored Ben. The ultimate cinnamon roll. Impossible not to want the best for him, or to hug him, or to just put him inside a huge indestructible bubble so nothing can get to him.
Well, not nothing. We need Eleanora there. The perfect s*tabby FMC to our golden retriever MMC.
If you’re looking for an unique palate cleanser, look no further 😜
Thank you so much Sarah Hawley and @netgalley for this ARC.
Ok. Here we have a shy, introverted, anxious werewolf who is a complete cinnamon roll and deserves to be cherished and adored for the rest of his days. Who would have expected that to be with a badass vampire succubus who has been TRAPPED for over SIX HUNDRED YEARS and is feeling VERY ANGRY AND STABBY THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Lol. I literally couldn't put this book down, it was such an engaging and fun installment in the Glimmer Falls world!!
A big thank you to Netgalley and author, Sarah Hawley, for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own!

🦇🦇🦇/5 - spice
If you are looking for a fun book that will make you laugh out loud, maybe tear up a bit, and cheer for an anxious, plant-growing, sweater vest wearing, knitting werewolf...Look no further.
Welcome back to the supernatural community Glimmer Falls and reintroduce yourself to Ben Rosewood - a werewolf who isn't 100% into being a werewolf...if he had his way he'd have all his knitting done way before Christmas, and he'd have a sweater vest in every single color, he wouldn't have to shift at the full moon and he'd maybe be in a relationship.
Instead, he has to shift every full moon and eat rabbits (and be *very* upset about it) and then try to be everything for everybody, (including his sister, Gigi, who decided she should run for mayor).
One night, Ben does some drunk shopping, and buys a plastic stone advertised to have a beautiful succubus vampire in it for 99 cents...Enter Eleonore.
A beautiful hybrid vampire/succubus who has been trapped in that stone for 600 years. She knows Star Trek, murder, and not much else. The Wicked Witch who had trapped her didn't exactly allow her to roam freely.
The two of them are immediately drawn to each other. Ben is a bit nervous about this, and Eleonore is excited because she can sense the beast within Ben. As the story progresses this relationship grows and becomes something so beautiful you can't help but smile. There are moments where you literally will laugh out loud.
As someone who has read quite a few heavy, serious, fantasies this year...this was exactly what I needed. Something fun, light-hearted, funny, and a genuinely good read. Not to mention the werewolf/succubus/vampire? It was everything I had no idea I needed. I love Eleonore and I love Ben. I cannot wait to continue in Glimmer Falls, I am so upset I don't live there currently.
Ben, a socially anxious and morally concerned werewolf drunkenly bids on a cursed vampire succubus, Eleanora, and ends up falling for her in this delightfully STEAMY paranormal romance set in the Glimmer Falls universe.
I loved all the characters in this book so much!!! The mayoral race between Ben's sister and a corrupt witch was pure fun and the chemistry between Ben and Eleanora was chef's kiss. Eleanora was a badass vampire out for vengeance and she was a ton of fun!!
Amazing on audio narrated by Helen Laser, who nailed Eleanora's French accent! I can't recommend this series enough, especially for fans of authors like India Holton. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy and @prhaudio for a complimentary ALC in exchange for my honest review.
I love the Glimmer Falls world so much! Ben and Eleanora are everything! They are both such endearing characters. Ben is so sweet and you feel for him and his struggles with anxiety. And Eleanora is such a delight! She has her fair share of ptsd from being trapped for 6 centuries and forced to be an assassin but her exuberance in learning about the modern world and getting to be her own person for once is infectious. She's a whirling, chaotic ball of energy with a tendency to act first and think later. They absolutely bring out the best in each other and help each other grow.
And of course I love getting to see the rest of the Scooby gang again too. Lilith is quickly becoming a favorite with her unique brand of caring insanity. I can't wait to see what's next in the Glimmer Falls world.
Ben Rosewood is a werewolf and a successful business owner. But a drunken decision after his friends wedding, leaves Ben with the winning bid on a possessed crystal from eBay. Eleanora Bettencourt-Devereux is a vampire succubus who has spent 600 years as an assassin for a wicked witch before being sold off. She's determined to win her freedom.
Why I started this book: Requested the ARC because I love a good paranormal romance and I was looking for a new series.
Why I finished it: Light, and little more on the cozy side than I expected. Hawley delivers a tale of friendship, hope and learning to live with the person that you are. I struggled with this forced-proximity as I didn't understand why Eleanora wasn't trying to get back to her family... or at least find out what happened to them.
I received an eARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book is about a neurotic werewolf who, after a drunken night, accidently winds up in the possession of an enchanted plastic crystal that contains a succubus/vampire hybrid. Ben, our werewolf MMC is an anxiety ridden werewolf who must now deal with the unexpected chaos of Eleonore , our FMC succubus/vampire, as she learns about the modern world and plans her vengeance against the witch who trapped her in the crystal.
I enjoyed this book though not quite as much as the others. The reason for that is that I got a bit annoyed about the political storyline involving Cynthia Cunningham and Ben's sister Gigi. It felt unnecessary and I just tried to get through those bits to get back to Ben and Eleonore. I loved Eleonore as a new character and I was able to relate to her on some levels dealing with her trust issues. I have always loved Ben and am so glad that his character has gotten his own love story. I also was surprised and delighted with Lilith and Kai's storyline. I will never be mad about more Lilith in these books. She is hilarious and I love her personality. I love the scenes with her and Eleonore also, as two redheaded immortal-ish beings with a penchant for violence.
