This book was so much fun! I loved how character driven it was. We don’t read a lot of characters like Ben. I adored him, he was sensitive, sweet, and the most caring werewolf you can find.
What a fun ride this was! Absolutely unlike any book I’ve read before!
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book. Will definitely be purchasing on release day!

I am starting to realize, slowly but surely, that one of my favourite romance subgenres is “snarly lady, and the sweet man who loves her. ” And A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire, the third in Sarah Hawley’s Glimmer Falls series, has that in spades. By far the most laugh-out-loud funny in a series that was already loaded with comedy, the book follows Ben, a werewolf, a friend of Mariel Sparks and Calladia Cunnington, and the owner of the town’s plant emporium. At 38, Ben is eager for love, but anxiety makes things tricky when it comes to actually finding it. That is, until he buys a “possessed” crystal in a drunken impulse buy, and ends up in possession of a crystal containing a vampire succubus named Eleonore.

The parameters of the curse placed on Eleonore mean that she has to obey the orders of whoever owns the crystal, though Ben would never dream of violating her trust in that way. But centuries at the whims of an old witch means Eleonore has a hard time taking him at his word to respect her personhood.

Like Hawley’s earlier works, the book doesn’t shy away from darker themes, specifically those of emotional abuse, and the messed up things people will do to those who trust them, supposedly in the name of love. And as with the other books, these themes are handled thoughtfully.

The scenes between Ben and Eleonore alternate between tender and hilarious, as the not-technically-immortal Eleonore tries to adjust to the modern world with nothing but a handful of very specific pop culture references to guide her. In Ben, we see the sort of burnout-inducing people-pleasing anxiety that can feel all too real for so many of us, and as he fights to help Eleonore break the curse on her head, she does her best to help him in turn.

I’m not sure if Hawley is done playing in the world of Glimmer Falls just yet, and I selfishly hope she isn’t, but if this is the last we get, then the series is ending on the highest-possible note, and I cannot wait to see where she goes next.

A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire hits shelves on August 13. Special thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for the advance copy for review purposes.

I have to say this happens to be one of the oddest stories I’ve had the pleasure of reading. The author has done an amazing job developing the plot and the characters.

The story itself is unique and imaginative. Plus, it was fun!

The two main characters are complete opposites, and while Eleonore is almost off the charts wacky throughout the book, we finally get to see her real person start to come through.

She mellows, her anger dissipates, and she truly becomes a wonderful addition to the story. She’s weird and quirky but certainly knows how to handle her man. Just as a side note – her biting is a little edgy. STEAMY!

Ben is soft-spoken and genuine. A real sweetheart of a guy. He is definitely getting used and overseen by other people in the community.

He’s a perfect balance to her wildness and together they offset each other and work really well together. Their chemistry is hot and steamy which definitely makes the story more.

We see characters pop in from the other books but this does not detract from the story because they all a part of a wild diverse community. The tight-knit group adds a lot to the whole plot, and A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire is a funny, quirky story.

Hawley delivers a complex and delightful romance that is absolutely a stand-out read!

I loved this book so much! I didn't think anything could beat the first in the series, but this one is very close. I really related to Ben and his anxiety and how much of a people pleaser he was. Great book! Can't wait to reread it in audiobook format once it is published.

Ahhhhh these books are just SO GOOD, and we have another winner!

Ben is a giant anxious cinnamon roll, and Eleanor is a blood thirsty angry vampire-succubus. It's such an odd pairing, but wow it really works! Eleanor is hilarious and awkward as she adjusts to modern times. Ben is endearing and sweet as he tries to help her break her curse and bends over backwards for everyone around him. There's laugh-out-loud moments, tender moments, heart-baring moments, and some bloody-suckingly SPICY moments. I loved seeing the whole Scooby Gang too!

Highly recommend this series for a good time.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the preview. All opinions are my own.

If you looked in the dictionary under the best time ever, you would find the title of this book. I had the blast of my life reading this! A vampire and a werewolf who think what’s the harm in a little fun, I giggled and I blushed! Eleanor’s and Ben had this dynamic that had me feeling as though i was a tennis ball in a match and I was constantly waiting for their next move, what was going to happen next. Truly a steamy paranormal romance must read for anyone who likes fun in their reads!

Thank you to Netgalley and Berkley Publishing Group for access to an advance reader copy.

I didn't realize this book was the third in the series when I requested it, so I'm coming at this as a new reader to the series. I was worried I would be missing too much information from the previous two books in the series, but since it featured a new couple I was fine. It was a very fun read! I'm definitely going to go and read the first two books in the series now.

The romance was steamy and fun and the characters were likeable. The world was interesting and I loved the punny names for everything. I couldn't put it down!

ARC Review: A Werewolf's Guide to Seducing a Vampire by Sarah Hawley
Pub Date: August 13
Thank you to @berkleyromance for the eARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Gosh I love this series so so much!! I couldn't possibly pick a favorite book out of the three - they've all been 5 stars, knocked out of the fricken park!

When Ben drunkenly orders a half vampire/half succubus stuck in a crystal from Ebay, he assumes it's just a prank - but it was only 99 cents so no harm, right? Well...it sure wasn't a prank! Suddenly he's stuck with a vampire/succubus who has been held captive for hundreds of years and knows nothing about the 21st century and has to follow Ben's every command. While he works to free her, he also has so much else to juggle, including his burgeoning feelings for Eleonore.

There's just something about a werewolf with anxiety who knits and owns a plant shop that really got me - I love when tropes and other things are sort of turned on their head and you get something unexpected! I adored Ben and his unlikely pairing with Eleonore. Eleonore's antics while trying to figure out 21st century life were so gosh darn funny - I laughed out loud multiple times and highlighted so much while reading!

I would read any single book from this series until the end of time!

Was not expecting some of this content. I don’t think this is the book or author for me.

While I did enjoy this book, it seemed a bit too long, I think it dragged a tad and felt like it was moving slow. Because of this my attention was sometimes elsewhere.

Thank you for this ARC!

Thank you, NetGalley and Berkley publishing!

This book was so fun! Having read the previous two I was very excited to get the chance to read this one, and it is by far my favorite.

A sweet werewolf, too busy to think much about his love life getting wrapped up in a crazy ordeal by drunkenly buying a possessed crystal off eBay that holds a succubus vampire, who would have seen that coming? Not Ben, and not Eleanora, the succubus vampire with a new owner. They embark on a quest to get to the bottom of this possession and see if they can't set Eleanora free after 600 years of being held captive.

It was hilarious and sweet and a perfectly heartwarming read. PERFECT for fall. While it is part of a series and does help a little to read the others first, I feel it could be read as a stand-alone book.

This book was super cute and I enjoyed it a lot!
I thought that the depictions of Ben’s anxiety were very realistic and they were done both intentionally and in a way that made me understand him deeply.
Eleanora was definitely a complex character that few on me more as the book went on.
I thought that the romance was so fun and I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop throughout the book.
The plot was easy to follow, and the subplots were enjoyable to read which is always nice!
It was written in 3rd person which was fine, but I think it lead to a little bit of a disconnect between me and the characters, but that’s okay!

First, thanks to the author and NetGalley for this ARC!

Oh boy, where to start! This is the first book I've read from Sarah Hawley and I had such a good time! This book was funny, emotional, cozy, steamy and just so fun. Ben is such a relatable character to me as someone who also struggles with some of the same things, and Eleonore was just such a wonderful, dramatic character to pair with him!

Another nice thing with this book is that even though it's the third in a series, this appears to be a series with interconnected standalones. There are references to events and characters from the previous books, but I didn't feel lost at all! And of course, now I definitely want to go back and read the other two.

Hugs for all these amazing characters!

Thanks to @berkleyromance for the eARC of @mssarahhawley third book in the Glimmer Falls trilogy, A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire, pubbing August 13, 2024

Ben, a plant emporium-owner, knitter of scarves and sweaters, is a werewolf with a sensitive soul and anxiety who drunkly buys a plastic rock on eBay that contains a half vampire/half succubus named Eleonore who has been trapped for centuries by a witch and forced to kill said witch’s enemies.

Ben and Eleonore make for an unlikely pairing, but they just _work_ and it is so delightful to read their love story from Eleonore’s sudden arrival to helping Ben’s sister run for mayor and of course, figuring out how to free Eleonore from the stone and being bound to following any commands Ben gives her.

I found myself laughing a lot at the antics and Eleonore figuring out 21 century life and also empathizing with Ben as he experiences anxiety and the deep-seated desire to help everyone else before helping himself.

It was also great to catch up with familiar faces: Calladia and Astorath, Marial and Oz, Themmie, Kai, and, my absolute fave, Lilith, the unhinged mother of demons who is the creator of chaos.

I would love to read more books set in this universe, but if this is the final book, I was thrilled with how it ended.

I think fans of the first two books will also delight in this one, so add it to your TBR!

This is the first novel I've read by Sarah Hawley and I enjoyed it. A Werewolf's Guide to Seducing a Vampire was rompy, steamy, and made me laugh out loud a few times. Her writing style is easy for any romance reader to get into, especially those looking for a fun summer read. It reminded me of books by Rosie Danan, but make it paranormal and supernatural.

RATING: 4/5 STARS

I was pleasantly surprised by this sweet, feel-good paranormal romcom! Ben is a werewolf who owns his own plant store. He suffers from social anxiety, but comes out of his shell when he accidentally purchases vampire-succubus Eleonore from eBay. Her bloodthirstiness and unfamiliarity with the modern world is at first at odds with Ben's gentle, risk-averse, and grounded nature but they come to realize they compliment each other perfectly. I had tons of fun reading this!

I read this ARC for my honest feedback. Thanks to Netgalley for this opportunity!

This book has potential, but it seemed to drag on in so many places. I feel like the story would have been more enjoyable if the length was cut down by about 100 pages. There's was just so much filler at times that wasn't needed, and took away from the enjoyment of the book.

This is one of my favorite series to recommend in recent years. This is book 3 and I'm still having such a good time. There's fun and magic and absolute lovely romance. Can't wait to fully review this on my blog!

I picked it up because I realized I had read other books in the same series. this one might be my favorite though, between the golden retriever/black cat energy to just how perfectly these opposites attract.

I didn’t read the first books and got thrown into this world and it was rad. Author #sarahhawley has a great grasp on her characters and is funny as hell with her characters’ dialogue. I felt like it was a grown up version of Onward’s mythological utopia. Story stars a lonely crocheting werewolf introvert and an overly honest immortal vampire succubus. Romance was sweet despite her being a succubus - some spicy scenes but not too over the top. Honestly didn’t know where the plot but going but was pleasantly along for the ride. Worth a read but happy to report it can definitely be read as a stand alone. But clearly will read the earlier books because the characters are cool.

Thanks to #berkeleypublishing and #netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
