This book focuses on several characters from the past and present. We learn their motivations, fears, and aspirations. I especially enjoyed Gabriel’s POV and the introduction of several new characters.

Alternating between different timelines, Nisha seamlessly composes a richly woven story that expands the world and deepens the connection to the main characters. The slow burn was as tantalizing as it was epic. I was waiting with bated breath for our tortured heroes to finally surrender to their angsty pining over the last two books! Their passion was electrifying, insatiable, and completely worth the wait 😮‍💨

Fate of the Sun King is an exhilarating installment brimming with action, steamy romance, and dangerous intrigue. The ending had me on the edge of my seat and desperate for the next book!

Huge thanks to the Nisha, Forever, and NetGalley for this advanced copy! This is my honest and voluntary review

Offers a compelling narrative with a dual timeline, intricate backstory, and complex relationships. The story delves deeper into the history of the gods and their artefacts, with surprising twists related to the goddess Zerra. The relationship between Lor and Nadir, as well as the insights into Gabriel's character, add depth to the plot. The book ends with a cliffhanger, building anticipation for the final installment.

Let me begin by saying I ate up the second book in this series so was so excited to get the arc of this book.

The Fate of the Sun King fell slightly flat for me.

I loved Lor and Nadir in the second book. There was so much push and pull, jealousy and angst and the build up was amazing! However, I feel like when they get together in this book, their personalities change and the push and pull is completely gone. I wasn't able to fully get into the romance.

The writing also felt different in this book and it was hard to jump back into this world. There seemed to be a lot of telling rather than showing and I think that was pulling me out of the story.

I did love the relationship between the siblings - Tristan, Willow and Lor have been through so much together and I just love seeing their protective and loving bond. I also did love Nadir and Lor in the first quarter of this book because there was angst and jealously similar to the last book. Also enjoyed the backstory of Gabriel.

I think I may continue with the next book because I feel like the next book will be action packed to wrap everything up and have the stories come together.

4.5 stars

I think this series keeps getting better with every book.

First of all, the author’s dedication to the reader was *chef’s kiss* and the glossary of characters was such a nice added touch.

If you’re like me and you weren’t completely sold after book 1, but loved book 2, then I think you’re in for a treat! The story went in directions I really didn’t see coming.

I enjoyed all of the characters (even the villains). But shout out to our angel boy Gabriel! I am so happy that his character became more interesting. I think I liked his side story more than Lor’s story.

There were so many new twists that revealed themselves, and early on. I felt like the pacing was perfect!

However, there was a lot of modern language and dialogue that didn’t feel like it fit the vibe of the story. While it didn’t bother me, I did notice it.

Like the first two, this book is well written, with a good balance of world building and plot development, lots of new twists, but it’s all easy to digest. And that ENDING!

Thank you Nisha for sending this arc! I can’t wait for book 4!

Oh my goodness.... this... this book. Just *chefs kiss*

This is the third in Nisha J Tuli's Artefacts of Ouranos series, and it might just be my favorite of them so far! But just, wow. I just barely set it down, and I'm absolutely speechless. I'm already biting my nails stressing about the wait for the next one 😅

This is a series that follows Lor as she is dragged from one end of her world to the other against her will, eventually finding herself and ability to choose. So far, it has been inspiring, frustrating, tense, spicy, and heartbreaking. Stop sleeping on this series. If you haven't read any of these books yet, this is a must-read!

Ok, I'm gonna sit here and pine while waiting for this next book for the next few months... 😭😭

"She is every star in the sky and every wish I've ever wanted"

Fate of the Sun King was the story we've been waiting for. I mean first off, Nadir and Lor finally stop battling the inevitable, but also we get both the character development and the Heart Queen's back story along with more of Ouranos' lore.

For remains the strong FMC you've grudgingly come to love, but she also learns that there's strength in relying on others. She allows herself to feel and rely on people again and that "weakness" only makes her stronger. While I struggled with liking her in the first two books, this story finally let me throw my full support at Lor.

Nadir...what's not to love when it comes to a strong, broody, morally gray, he fell first, MMC?!? While there's still secrets there and darkness that hasn't been explored, there's no question that you will continue to pant over Nadir throughout this story.

Gabriel is the character that really stood out to me in this story. Learning his backstory, his struggle, and what he's willing to fight for created a gripping portion to this book.

Overall, Fate of the Sun King was everything we've been waiting for. The story, the character development, the spice, and the cliff hanger was chef's kiss.

Thank you to Netgalley for this Arc!!

☀️ Fate of the Sun King ☀️

“I’ve always wanted to be the sort of woman who makes monsters kneel. Who brings down empires. Who holds the world in her hand. And for the first time in my life, it feels like it’s within my reach.”

Ohhhhh my HEART QUEEN! What a JOURNEY this third book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series. I can’t believe I have to wait until November for the next and final book in the series???

This one has all your favorite suspects plus a few new folks, and most excitingly some new points of view! We find out more about the origin of Ouranos and Lor’s family. We watch Lor grown into herself. Plus, Lor and a certain Aurora Prince start to work together instead of against each other if you know what I mean 😉

The spice, the banter, the adventure, the twists. I LOVED it. I absolutely flew through this one and cannot WAIT for the next book. In case that isn’t clear enough, the cliffhanger at the end is brutal. I have so many questions, and am so excited to see what happens next.

You do need to read this series in order:
☀️ Trials of the Sun Queen
☀️ Rule of the Aurora King
☀️ Fate of the Sun King

Thank you to Netgalley and Forever for this ARC! My opinions are my own. Fate of the Sun King is on shelves June 4th, 2024!

Ahhhh! The way that I love this series is unreal! This book was such a masterpiece and I loved every second of it. I loved the action and intrigue, and the romance. I am just in love with these characters and didn't think that Nisha could top the second book, but this was it. This topped it and I loved it. If you enjoyed books one and two of this series then you will LOVE this one!

Dare I say it, but this is the best in the series so far. Fate of the Sun King is the third book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series, preceded by Trial of the Sun Queen and Rule of the Aurora King. I completely devoured both of those books, so to say this is my favorite so far holds weight.

I cannot write a proper review without spoiling some of the incidents of the first two books, so do not read further if you’re not familiar with the series to this point.

This book answers so many questions that were brought up in the first two. The history of the ages of Ouranos and the deities involved were so fun to read about, even if I was constantly itching to get back to Lor and Nadir. Many suspicions I had were confirmed, but some twists I didn’t see coming at all. The pacing was wonderful, and the world continues to grow in depth.

I think my favorite part of this book was Willow and Tristan starting to break out of their shells and act as true characters rather than just placeholder siblings. I love who they both are developing into, and it was so fun to watch them start on their own paths.

This book, while answering so many of my burning questions from the end of Rule of the Aurora King, left me drowning in new questions and a burning need to know what is next. The ending is just unfair, so read it when you’re ready for an intense cliffhanger. I love it.

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever for the opportunity to read and review this book in advance, even if it means I have to wait extra long for the next book.

WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING THIS TO US?! Warning: huge cliffhanger! This was sooo good. I feel like every book just gets better and better. I cannot wait for the next one! Ugh I love alllll of the characters in this book which is crazy to say but even our antagonist have so many layers to them. Every one is multi dimensional with great character development. Nisha has created a great world here and has great storytelling. I am anxious for the next one because I don't know what Nisha is going to throw at us next!

And yes the spice was chefs kiss.

Thank you so much for the ARC!

The ending of this book really pulled it through for me. Nisha knows how to leave a good cliffhanger.

I did feel like Lor and Nadir ✨in love✨ we’re different characters from them hating each other and I missed the tension of it if I’m being honest. I know they had to admit their feelings and everything eventually but can’t they hate each other just a tiny bit too?

I did enjoy all the backstory that we got with this book though. I almost wished there was more of it!

The last 10% was easily the best part of the whole book for me.

Initial thoughts after finishing this:
I beg your FINEST pardon. I said the first book started with a bang but holy fuck this one ends with one of the biggest plot twist and cliffhanger I’ve ever read. You’re telling me that I now have to wait however long for the final book??

This book combines the best elements of the first and second book and it was so addictive. We have all of the action from the first book, plus all of the character development from the 2nd book, plus more beautiful world building, and FINALLY some oh so lovely spice!

As always, Nisha always finds a way to subtly add in current world issues and discusses them so well.
I also always really appreciate the way that Nisha is able to work in other sensitive topics (in this case SA) and finds a way to handle them delicately and with grace.

Nisha truly outdid herself with this book and has easily made her way into my top 3 favorite authors. If you’ve been on the fence about reading this book then absolutely do it. I promise you won’t regret it.

it was a great continuation of the series. it didn't feel like much happened plot-wise but it did a good job developing the characters.

I read this a while ago and I'm still reeling! I needed to take a breather before I actually wrote the review. I was literally screaming, crying, and I couldn't believe that cliffhanger. I had to read it a couple of times to make sure Iwasn'thallucinating. The author really did us dirty there (in a very good way, or was it good?).

This series just keeps getting better and better! There wasn't a single dull moment. The new secretsrevealed made the story so much deeper and I was totally shocked.

Nadir, oh Nadir. How is he becoming hotter with each book???? I can’t get enough of him!!!

November is way too far away. I wish I could just zoom into the future like The Flash and read the next book right now.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

This is the third book in the series, and it was a whirlwind in the best way. So much happens in this story, and I don’t want to spoil anything. I’ll say to expect to go through every emotion with this one. The cliffhanger is a brutal one that will have you wondering what you just read. So when you finish feel free to message me!

Lor was everything in this book. She is a strong fmc that doesn’t let her past decide anything for her. I’ve been waiting in this series for more of Nadir and Lor and we get that in this book. All I’m going to say is yes to Nadir LOL. This book opened up another side of him that I loved.

The found family trope is a favorite of mine in this series. I’ve come to love so many of the characters. The multiple points of view really help you get to know each of them more in this one. Even when it was chaotic.

Fate of the Sun King has:
✨ Dual POV
✨ Fated mates
✨ Found family
✨ Betrayal
✨ Touch her and 💀
✨ Brutal cliffhanger
✨ Dual timeline

If you’re looking for an epic Romantasy, then I highly recommend this series!

Thank you to NetGallley and Nisha for giving me this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance, third installment in the Artefacts of Ouranos series.

What this book has in store for you:
-multi POVs
-flashbacks/past timelines
-fated mates
-found family
-spice

Fate of the Sun King brings new depth and world building into the picture. I am really enjoying the inclusion of past timelines and the "lore" brought to the foreground. The downfall for me was pace of this installment. I was so excited for new povs and getting to see other sides of the characters we've grown to love, but it ended up creating a lot of repetition in the novel. We'd go back in time and get answers but then still have to hear our current characters figure it out and explain it again. Along with that, I felt like the scheming and planning were so much of this story and it lacked intrigue and action. However, it is still an addictive series and I can't wait for the next one. Not sure if it's the finale or not, but if it is, I'm sure it will come together marvelously!

P.S. Be prepared for a huge cliffhanger at the end that will have you counting down the days until the next installment!

In this third installment of The Artefacts of Ouranos Series, The Fate of the Sun King, Lor is on the run and trying to unlock her magic, forming an emotional connection with Nadir and figuring out her complicated feelings about him, and all the while trying to uncover the truth about the artefacts and how it relates to her destiny.

I enjoyed this fast-paced book, as I devoured it in three sittings. Finally, we see Lor and Nadir embracing and expressing their suppressed feelings, with a steamy payoff after their slow-burn tension. Moreover, we gain new perspectives through the mysterious Gabriel's point of view, as well as other characters from past who shed light on Ouranos's history. Note this book ends on a major cliffhanger.

What to Expect:
- Multi-POV
- Enemies to Lovers 🗡️
- Fated Mates ❤️
- Slow burn payoff 🌶️
- Jealousy and angst
- Fast paced
- Cliffhanger ending
- LGBTQ+ rep (side character) 🌈

Fate of the Sun King is book 3 in the Artefacts of Ouranos series. Those with stellar memory may recall that Trial of the Sun Queen (book 1) wasn’t my favorite, but then by Rule of the Aurora King (book 2) I was eating it up! As I sat down to read book 3 I was very eager to be back in this world and find out what next is in store for Lor, Nadir, and crew, especially after where things left off when we last saw them.

What I loved so deeply about book 2 was Lor and Nadir’s banter. The true capital E enemies to lovers of it all. The tension! The will they won’t they! THE SLOW BURN!! I knew heading into book 3 that we were finally going to get to see these two be together and man oh man was the wait going to be worth it!! Except unfortunately, when that moment finally came, I found myself puzzled and wishing we could slow things back down and pump the brakes.

During book 2 when we learned about Serce and Wolf’s love story and the fact that they were mates, it was an ah-ha! moment as the reader. SURELY Lor and Nadir must also be mates too! And *spoiler alert* yes they are. The only problem is that for all of the build up, when Lor finally learns about mates and realizes Nadir is her’s… she almost immediately accepts this? We go from 0 to 100 SOOOO FAST. She puts two and two together, they have their conversation about it, FINALLY sleep together (PRAISE BE), and then it’s like a flip is switched. Lor and Nadir go from resisting one another for two and a half books to almost instantly after one conversation being so in love, outwardly showing it, and telling nearly everyone that they are mates (????). I want them to be happy, I do! But this felt too sudden for my personal preference, incongruent with the previous slow build, and as a result it took me out of the story a bit.

Apart from our main couple, in Fate of the Sun King, there is a lot of other ground covered. We learn a great deal about the shady doings of Atlas, the backstory of Gabriel (poor Gabe!!), and are introduced to a plethora of new characters. Similarly to book 2, there is a dual timeline and multiple POVs. This time, during the flashbacks we glean information about the origin of the Artefacts and each kingdom’s ruler’s ascent to high fae. I think Tuli has done an impressive job building this world over the course of this series, and book 3 is no exception on this front.

However, though I do find the world building and history in these books remarkable, it does not lend to these books being particularly short. Fate of the Sun King specifically sits at 556 pages and man it FELT like it. The reason I mention this is not because I hate long books (not true!) but because a long book works for me when it doesn’t feel tedious to get through. Book 2 in this series is shorter, but still sizable, and it went QUICK. I was turning the pages to find out what happened next. In contrast, my experience with book 3 was that it felt like more of a trudge to get to the end.

In summary, Fate of the Sun King was a bit of a mixed bag for me. While I was happy to be back in Ouranos and with these characters, I found myself missing the tension and animosity between our leads, and the page-turning feeling I felt from book 2. The beauty of reading is that it is subjective, and I do not think that everyone will share my opinion. Readers that enjoyed the first two installments in this series will likely enjoy book 3 just as much! With only one book in the series remaining, I will likely pick it up to see how this story ends. However, I will be doing so with some trepidation as I have just learned that the final installment is the longest in length. Perhaps an audiobook may be the format I decide to go with instead :)

Thank you for continuing to have me as an ARC reader! Books 1-3 in the…books? As arcs!

One line review:
Prison rat becomes electric queen as ….someone turns to ash.

Real review:
Nisha, the heck? After winning me over in the first 2 books and having me pinning for more. Well you gave me more and then literally snatched it right back. But I swear if you take my girl as the next Zerra I will riot. But maybe not really. Internally I will.

I loved this book! Don’t let the spiteful post read angst towards author deter you! Nisha did amazing continuing the story and having even MORE world building while managing the huge character growths!

I cannot wait until book 4!!!!!!
