I really wanted to like this book because I enjoyed the previous books in the series but it fell a little flat for me :( the dialogue wasnโ€™t hitting, the hard shift to being mates wasnโ€™t it for me, and the ending really just nailed the hammer in the coffin.

Well, this was better than even I could have expected.
The tension between Lor and Nadir finally came to a head as they both admitted how they felt about each other, and it was perfect.
More secrets are revealed, and it changes so much.
I'm trying to find words, but I'm speechless.
There is mates, enemies to lovers, fate and so much more than that.
Loved it and cannot wait to see how it all wraps up in book 4.

I thought I could continue the series but I am not strong enough lmaooo. Not sure if it's the writing or the characters or maybe this just isn't my cup of tea but my goodness sometimes the dialogue and inner monologues get to be so insufferable...
Going to have to DNF cause I just can't hold out any more

๐Ÿ’™ Enemies to Lovers
๐Ÿ’™ Multi POV
๐Ÿ’™ Spice ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ (thank heavens ๐Ÿ˜‚)
๐Ÿ’™ Fated Mates
๐Ÿ’™ Hilarious Banter
๐Ÿ’™ Found Family
๐Ÿ’™ Killer Cliffhanger... I am still unwell ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Fate of the Sun King is my favorite book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series and it's not all because of the spice (although that is a hefty part of it ๐Ÿ˜‚), it's also because I lost count of how many times I laughed at the banter between the characters. The snarky banter between Lor and Nadir made them swoon worthy, but the icing on the cake is the banter between all the characters especially Tristan, Lor and Nadir (after you read, the quote above will make you laugh all over again).

Another reason this book is my favorite in the series is because I truly did not know where the story was going. In fact that cliffhanger has me questioning everything I thought I knew about this series. It's completely unfair that I have to wait until November for my anxiety to be relieved. So yes, I highly recommend this series to any and all because I need more people to wallow in my misery with me ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thank you NetGalley and Nisha J Tuli for the ARC!

Thank you to Nisha for the heads up, and NetGalley for the ARC to read and review.

SPOILER FREE REVIEW:

I have been looking forward to this book since I devoured 1&2 last fall, & yet again, Nisha DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I absolutely loved the character descriptions in the beginning, just to add some zest.

I really enjoyed the back-and-forth timeline to learn more about the original rulers of Ouranos, while seeing how past decisions impacted the present time. It was great having some small cameo appearances from past book faves as well.

Lor and Nadir are just, great together. Loved getting to have Tristan and Willow play more key roles in the story as well and giving them their own journeys to go through.

With all of that being said, THAT ENDING. I predicted one twist toward the end but was NOT READY for the final twist of the story. Now I'm at a loss and needing the final book to make everything ok.

THIS SERIES IS MY EVERYTHING! And Iโ€™m also really upset about this cliffhangerโ€ฆ the care that has gone into the world building for this series is incredible. And the tropes?! And the banter?! And the slow burn?! I canโ€™t get enough of these characters and this world.

The third book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series and it's a good one. It's probably my favorite in the series because the slow burn finally paid off lol. There is so much more lore, worldbuilding, found family, and spice in this book and I was invested despite the slow pace of the beginning if the book. This was a dual POV and we get the main characters' and Gabriel's in this one I wonder if Gaberial is getting his own book or something ๐Ÿ‘€. There are higher stakes in this book especially with the flashbacks and world history that we get. I liked how the romance progressed between Lor and Nadir, there was tension and angst though I just wanted them to finally get together. The ending though, prepare for a cliffhanger because there is a huge one at the end. If you like romantasy's then you need to start this series! Thank you Forever Publishing for this arc for an honest review.

Sending my therapy bill straight through ๐Ÿซก Lor & her big baddie energy?? Iโ€™m here for it. I love that each book in this series adds just another layer and another power dynamic. Great book if you love
-enemies to lovers
-found fam
-cool magic
-betrayal
-twisty plots
-cliff hangers

The romance was amazing, and I couldโ€™ve used 100 more pages of our resident colour daddy. Cannot wait til this gem is out in the world. Grateful for the arc!

I LOVE this series! Each book continues to captureย me in a different way.

The first book had the prison setting and the deadly competition. You really got to know Lor and fall in love with her character.

Book two is MY FAVORITE in the series! I love the relationship between Lor and Nadir. The touch her and die vibes in this book was perfection.
ย
Book 3 was incredible! I loved the world building in this book and the dual timeline. Nadir and Lor's relationship grows in this book and you get more spicy scenes which are so good! It was enjoyable from start to finish.ย That ending!! Book 4 cannot come soon enough!ย

What you can expect from book 3:
-Growing relationship between Nadir and Lor
-More Spice
-A history of their world
-Dual POV
-More Gabriel!
-Dual Timeline
-Found Family

I highly recommend this series to ANY romantasy readers. It's one of my all time favorites.

This series just keeps getting better and better. I'm ready to fight over that ending though...like honestly wtf Nisha. Do you expect me to calmly and patiently wait until November to read book 4?

I am so thrilled to get to review the third book of this series! The story follows Lor and Nadir as they plot to unlock Lorโ€™s powers.

What I liked: I enjoyed Gabrielโ€™s arc in this story. I found him so interesting in the first book and missed him during the second. I also appreciated that we got some more answers surrounding Zerra and her priestesses.

What I didnโ€™t like: This book was pretty slow-paced. The whole book builds toward the final few chapters. My copy also had a lot of errors with quotations marks which made it sometimes hard to follow.

Overall, I liked the book and I definitely plan to continue the series!

I really enjoyed this book. I was super excited to be able to read this ARC of the third book. I feel like it was a little slow for the first third of the book just building up, but that is understandable. I loved seeing how Lor, Willow, and Tristan are becoming more confident with who they are (I can't wait for more with Tristan). Of course, always here for Lor and Nadir's story, but way to rip out a girl's heart with the ending... Now I have to wait for book four. Over all it was well written, it had a nice build-up and left me wanting more. Nisha has become one of my favorite authors.

Title: Fate of the Sun King by Nisha J Tuli
Genre: Adult Romantasy
Pub Date: June 4, 2024

โญ 5/5
๐ŸŒถ๏ธ 3/5

You guys, the LORE. I'm absolutely obsessed with the world building in all of these books!! We literally get to learn so much of Apehlion's history with Lor and it's so good! This series is incredible!!

Lor is very much the "I've been hurt so I refuse to let anyone love me" FMC but Nadir is so sweet (most of the time ๐Ÿ™„) and loves her immensely, helping her with her magic and being patient even though it hurts him. The tension of the slow burn is amazing.

The cliffhanger ripped my heart out, I need it to be November already because I not only need answers but also closure?! How could you end a book like this ๐Ÿ˜ญ STRAIGHT TO JAIL

Thank you so much @netgalley and Forever publishing for the digital review copy!

This is by far my favorite book in the series. There are spicyย scenes with several POVs, and the stakes are high, but there are also some cozy family moments. I can't get enough of Lor's badassery. What I like best about this novel is the amount of character growth that occurs while remaining realistic. Nisha did an excellent job depicting mental health, as well as the path to healing and self-development. Also, if you are a fan of books with a little bit of history of their magical world, this is a must-read, and I promise it does not drag and will keep you wanting more.

Ok, but when is the next book?!

Wowowowowowow. Maybe I shouldnโ€™t do a review right after I read it BUT I am because wowowowowow.

Nisha has a way with words that are relatable but also then a strike of gold that has you sitting over a sentence for a long while.

And this story. My godโ€” this story!!!!!

Anywayโ€ฆ yeaโ€ฆ Iโ€™m going to be experiencing a book hangover for a while.

Ah, there is nothing like a good cliffhanger but WTF??? Can I scrub my brain of that ending? But thank you Nisha J. Tuli and Net Galley for proving me with an ARC. Anytime you want to send over a copy of Tale of the Heart Queen, I will drop everything and read it ๏Š

Just like book 1 and 2, I was quickly pulled into this world and real life forgotten. Book 3 really sought to pull book 1 and 2 together while using Lor and Nadir to drive the story forward. Lor and Nadir did not disappoint. While I missed a lot of the angst that book 2 provided, this book provided a lot more character and relationship development. Lor surprised me a couple of times, she accepted her fate easier than I had anticipated. I expected more fight but perhaps we are seeing her mature.

While this book answered many of my questions from the previous books, I am left with so many more questions. I loved reading Gabrielโ€™s POV. His story added more depth and intrigue to the plot. I canโ€™t wait to see where book 4 takes us. I hope we get more POVโ€™s from other side characters, perhapsโ€ฆ Tristan? You know our curiosity has been peaked!

This series is just really good. I think if I hadn't read ACOTAR and found this series - it still would've pushed me into wanting to read more fantasy and that's saying something!! I took a break from reading fantasy for a while, and this is the series that got me back into it after a serious ACOTAR-like Kindle Unlimited reading binge.

I highly recommend that anyone who's looking for a series with great world-building, a slow-mutlitple-books-burn, and characters with a little more grit - try out the Artefacts of Ouranos series!!

**Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing), Forever& NetGalley for the advanced reader copy. I received this book for free, but all thoughts are my own. โ€“ SLR ๐Ÿ–ค

Canโ€™t believe I got an ARC copy of this book! Which now, after reading, seems like Iโ€™ve prolonged the torture of waiting for book 4โ€ฆ

I think this may be my favorite of the series so far! Lor was a lot more complex and there seemed a lot to drive the story more. Felt like I kept being pushed forward to figure out whatโ€™s happening. Was a bit difficult to follow at times though with some flashbacks to the earlier age of Ouranos and understanding why Nisha was taking us back to show us these bits. I think, obviously, it will all come to head in book 4 but it was interesting!

Spoilers nowโ€ฆ

WHAT THE HECK WHY DO WE END THE BOOK WITH DEATH?! Also I love Nadir and that whole scene sort of confused me? I wasnโ€™t sure how he was killed so that was a bit jumbled but the fact that they literally ended with his heartbeat stopping.. WHY. I am wondering if thatโ€™s what the mirror meant by heartbreak and ruin. I donโ€™t know why but I have a suspicious feeling weโ€™ve lost him for good and maybe this is how Lor rises to what the Empyrean needs? I DONT KNOW FOLKS.

Really loved seeing more into Gabrielโ€™s character. I think he is such a complex character and understanding how Atlas had a hold on him and how that actually works was fascinating. Honestly Atlas gets whatโ€™s coming for him. TYR ALIVE. I was like wow what a terrible brother..

Did enjoy the relationship bits between Lor and Nadir and the spicy scenes ๐Ÿฅตโ€ฆ loved the one at the spring/waterfall/thing.

Overall, fave book in the series but again have prolonged my heartbreak until Tale of the Heart Queen releases..

Oof. (Thatโ€™s a good oof, I promise!) This third installment moved the story forward in ways I was expecting โ€ฆ and in ways I wasnโ€™t! The lore of this world just continues to develop, and I have so many questions I want answers to, which is exactly what I want from the penultimate book in a series!

Gabriel continues to be my favorite character of the series, and I loved getting to know more about what makes him tick (even though it broke my heart). I was glad he got to play a role in seeing one of the seriesโ€™ villains get some well-deserved justice.

It was great to see things develop between Lor and Nadir, and Iโ€™m really glad I only have to wait until November to find out how everything wraps up! This book did a great job of setting up the finale โ€” no one whoโ€™s at all invested in these characters would skip knowing how it all ends!

There were times when I thought the flashbacks were dragging the pace of the book down, but as I kept reading, I really appreciated all the insight they provided.

This ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Fate of the Sun King is the third installment in the Artifacts of Ouranos Series.

I am a huge fan of Nisha Tuli's work. Loved the first two books in the series.

The Good:
There were so many elements that I absolutely loved -- the world building, the tension, the character development -- 10/10. I appreciated Gabriel's POV, which really added a lot. I adored the integration of more magical beings, incredible settings, perfect pacing in general. I flew through this book and did not struggle to want to turn the page.

The Struggle:
Admittedly, I had a lot of difficulty with this book despite it being a page turner.

First, there were a significant amount of formatting errors, specifically misplaced ' and " throughout the book, which I believe wasn't the author or editors fault, but an issue with conversion into the Kindle format. Regardless, however, it was pretty distracting during the read. At first I was highlighting them, thinking it was a rare occurrence and I'd be helping spot the errors. But by the end, I lost count in the hundreds of times they popped up randomly throughout the texts.

I also was thrown by the whole potential alien space race overseeing the planet (among others). IF that was the case, I wanted and needed more as a reader. I was also so disappointment and bummed at the potential for Nadir to become the enemy at the end. It felt like a let down after two books of build up and progression -- they were finally a team that could go after their enemies together! After everything Lor had been through. It was a really negative and sad way to end a book. I know with series it's good to have cliffhangers and shock your readers, but this felt....soooooo sad. And not in a way that made me excited for the final book :(

I know there is a fourth book coming later this year. Part of me feels like it would have made more sense to have one very large third book than split it up as it was here.

I have immense respect for Tuli as an author and world builder. As a fellow writer and aspiring author, and out of that immense respect for her, I won't be sharing this feedback on Goodreads.
