Well where do I start with this, I'll start with a big thank you to Nisha and netgalley for the arc of this book, I've been counting down to its release so getting the chance to read it even sooner had me jumping for joy!!
I've loved this series since the beginning! Book 1 brought the trials aspect and introduced you to the world and characters. Book 2 we saw some more character development and got a big dose of history and backstory. I feel like everything we learnt throughout the first 2 books came together in book 3, and all the pieces started to click into place!
The glossary of the characters had me giggling, Nisha always manages to draw you into her books before the actual story even starts!
I fell in love with the characters even more than I already had. In this book they've all come into their own and it's definitely been my favourite read of the series so far! Between the mix of family and found family in this series you can't help but fall in love with them, even if some can be harder to love at times *cough* Gabriel *cough* but we got a lot more insight into his story this time which made his actions more understandable! The story just kept on giving, sometimes a few books into a series you end up with a book that can feel a bit like a filler but this one was full of love, secrets, drama and everything you could want to keep you interested!
Now we've established that the story is great, let's get to the important stuff....... the spice 🌶🌶🌶 FINALLY we got the spice we have been waiting for!!
I do have one bone to pick though, THAT ENDING!! I am not OK 😳 how could you do that to us Nisha!! I'm sure all will be explained in the next book, but how are we meant to deal with this until then 😭😭
This is the third book in the series and you have to read the first book to fully appreciate it. Lot finally got the crown and she returns home to unlock the magic of her family.
It is exciting and romantic at the same time. It is definitely the series ending that I was hoping for. The characters are still terrific and fun.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
First and foremost, thank you to Nisha J.Tuli, Net Galley, and my phone alarm for providing me with an ARC copy.
Secondly, do you like a sharp tongued FMC who loves scented soaps and broody fae men? Do you, too, also have a thing for women who punch first and ask later? Do you like girls with daggers? And complicated feelings? Maybe a lost royal? Am I talking about Aelin Galathynius? No. But if you love her, you’ll really love Lor. Lor actually cusses. And Nadir, but I’m a girl’s girl, so mostly you’ll love Lor.
Of course if you haven’t read the series, don’t start with this one. Start with Trial of The Sun Queen. If you’re not hooked with the first sentence, you are a liar. This story has humor, sass, a great but not overly complicated magical system, tons of action without being overwhelming, and all my favorite tropes.
-Enemies to Lovers
-But only one of them knows they’re enemies
-Grumpy Hot Men with powers I don’t understand
-Fated Mates
-An asshole with light hair and wings
-A trial
-Soap and fistfights
I’d like to finish my review by saying, Nisha, I would read a grocery list if you wrote it, but how dare you for that ending? These were my good eyes… AND
Atlas, I’m the creature hiding under your bed, fuck boy.
