Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this to read and give an honest review. The opinions expressed are my own.
Just as a preface, I do not read many memoirs, I am more of a fictional reader but sometimes I feel like I would like to see people's experiences. Maybe they just aren't for me but I want to keep trying because I feel like I will come across one that really speaks to me at some point in time. This was not that time.
I thought I'd like this memoir. I grew up a city girl so it's fun to see what small town people experience as they make the move to big city life. And while I really wanted to like this, I had to ultimately DNF. I just could not connect with the author. The writing style was juvenile for me and didn't make me like the author at all. Too many lists, too much repetition
The only redeeming quality for this book for me was the artwork.
