This was an interesting read and I learned some new methods/concepts to apply in my current job role. There is so much content out there on learning and L&D and it’s it is sometime hard to tune out all the noise. This was really concise and easy to understand.

It was a little too specific and detailed for my needs and in some ways assumed too much knowledge. Some of the acronyms I struggled to work out.

Many companies struggle with Learning and Development, whether they realize it or not. They fail to hire instructional designers who understand that learner needs analysis and employee knowledge sharing are cruxes for successful training and development initiatives. L&D analytics, targeted evaluation, and ROI are often ignored or poorly addressed. Knowledge gaps persist because the L&D teams have knowledge gaps of their own. Employee-generated Learning kindles a very important conversation. Industry insights and case studies elucidate how to implement an employee needs approach to L&D. If you are looking for effective ways to upskill your employees, the advice within this book is practical, prescriptive, and easy to implement.

This book was a fascinating read, and I've already started incorporating some of the information in this book to adapt our training methods for various student staff positions on our campus. I've also shared this with other colleagues in our department so that we can keep this in the back of our minds for future trainings. While not everything in this book is applicable to what we do, this allowed me to think about and see our methods from a different perspective.
