This book might be what gets me back into thrillers… I could not stop listening to this!

Rijks’ writing out me through the wringer with this one, never knowing what was coming next with twists and turns on every page, all of which were executed perfectly. That one last twist at the end was a knife to the heart!

The dual perspective added massively to the shock factor laying bare plans and having you panic that they would become a reality and really route for the characters even more.

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the arc! I cannot wait to read more from this author!

Thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape for the audio arc of Make Her Pay. The first thing I will say is I didn't really like the narrator for Leoni...Her voice was way too harsh for me personally but I loved the voice of Carrie, This book was really promising but missed the mark a little in the first half. It was still interesting and it wasn't bad and it was overall a revenge story gone wrong, I liked the twists of this story, didn't expect the ending twist at all. There's not much to say about this book without giving spoilers but I did enjoy it more than I thought.

Leonie’s past has come back to haunt her. At the age of 16, Leonie was involved in a hit-and-run accident that what she thought, killed the other driver. She left the scene, and it was never spoken of again. This was an entertaining read that had something happening around every corner. Leonie, now a successful Real Estate Professional, is still consumed with the guilt of what happened many years prior. When Leonie’s fiancé ends up dead, Leonie becomes suspect. Slowly Leonie realizes that someone is out to get her. None of the characters were likable and most were hard to relate to. There were many twists and turns in this story about revenge, although some of them I found to be predictable. I listened to the audiobook and thought that the narrators did a great job. This was a fun, psychological thriller where no one could be trusted.

Narrated by Charlie Albers and Ella Lynch, is a riveting psychological thriller that had me hooked from the start. Leonie's seemingly perfect life is unraveling, and the twists and turns in the plot kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't help but root for her future! The narration by Albers and Lynch added depth and intensity to the story, making it a truly addictive listening experience. If you love psychological thrillers with a touch of guilt-ridden secrets, this audiobook is a must-listen!

Make her pay is a fast-paced and gripping, twisted tale of revenge.

Narrated by Leonie and Carrie’s POVs, Leonie is excitedly planning her wedding to Marcus, but things are going horribly wrong. The dress is cancelled, the flowers are wrong and as soon as the wedding is over, Marcus starts to become controlling, just like Leonie’s parents have always tried to control her.

When Leonie’s past catches up with her, the twists and double-crossing notches up a gear. A little predictable, but worth reading, nevertheless.

Great narration from Charlie Albers & Ella Lynch.

4 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Miranda Rijks and Dreamscape Media for an ARC in return for an honest review.

This one was definitely intriguing from start to finish. There was lots of revenge plot scheming which I always love! And it really had me questioning what was going on overall, but I found it kind of predictable for the most part. Never had any “omfg WHAT?!” moments. I enjoyed it overall though and really enjoyed the narrators in this audiobook!

This one follows the story of Leonie who accidentally kills someone while she was driving as a kid. Her father makes her hide it at the time, and she has constantly lived with the guilt of it since. She thinks her life has turned around when she meets Markus and embarks upon a whirlwind romance.. but then it starts to seem as though someone is out to get her and things begin to unravel for her 👀

I listened to the audiobook and liked the narrators. The storyline was intriguing and I enjoyed how fast paced it was. I didn’t love the ending, it felt so abrupt. I would definitely read more by this author in the future by this wasn’t one of my favorites.

Two women, one hidden truth, and a carefully planned act of vengeance.

Leonie has been running from the consequences of her actions for ten years, but now it's time to face them. The memory of that night still haunts her, but she's determined to move on and start a new life with her fiancé, Markus. However, someone is determined to punish Leonie and make sure she gets what's coming to her.

Although I enjoyed the storytelling and pacing, it was rather predictable, and the ending felt rushed. The book started out great but fell flat, I expected more.

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the free audio copy of the book.

Can you really have it all when you harbor such a huge secret? Leonie’s life in her 20’s appears so promising but ten years ago she made a horrible mistake. Youth has a funny way of making us feel invincible and so she does not give it a second thought to steal her mother’s car for a joyride. A night that quickly turns deadly when she kills a man behind the wheel. Despite her pleas to call for help, her dad insists on covering it up, pretending like it did not happen at all. While life goes on, the impact of that night stays with Leonie…Make Her Pay is a wonderfully written and narrated audiobook that is full of so many twists and turns that will keep you on your toes until the very end. A powerful message of the weight of our decisions and lasting grief and regret.

Review will be posted on Instagram on audiobook release date- March 12th!

I liked the concept of this story line, the shifting between two points of view helped understand the events transpiring from different perspectives, but at the midway point with a plot twist I found the subsequent twists to be a little predictable for me. The first twist I was surprised by and it was an "oh..." moment as I backtracked through what I had already read and started to piece together the story differently - which I liked, but after that, I found that some of the rest of the plot lined up too neatly for me. Still I thought there was some good storytelling. My biggest disappointment was in the ending. I thought the last of the character reveals was unnecessary and really took away from the story that was shaping up and then while the actual ending was a bit vague, I found I didn't care much for what was going to happen at that point because I was let down for the character.

A twisty mystery/good revenge story.

Involved in a nasty accident as a teenager, Leonie’s actions from that night come back to haunt her. She’s avoided getting close to anyone as that night sticks with her day in and day out. Meeting the man of her dreams changes everything and is due to get married. It is at this time that the truths start to unravel and she finds out that some of the people in her life aren’t exactly who they say they are.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. The ending truly felt rushed and I did not enjoy that. Lots of twists and turns that kept me intrigued.

This book had so much promise and yet left me quite frustrated and disappointed. 2.5 stars rounded to 3.

The pros: The overall premise of the book was intriguing, and I was sucked in from the beginning. I enjoyed the fast and steady pace. I also appreciated that Ms Rijks didn't include so many characters and storylines that it was hard for me to keep track. The writing was mostly well done, and the narrators did a superb job. While I figured out the overarching twist(s), I enjoyed listening enough to keep going to see if I was indeed correct and how the story unfolded.

The cons: None of the characters were well developed though Leonie was certainly the most developed of them, and I didn't find any of the likable. There were a few plot holes that I wish the author had taken the time to resolve. Rather than filling in some missing pieces, the ending was extremely rushed, and she dropped a completely ridiculous 'twist' that was frankly, stupid. It added no value whatsoever to the book, and it seemed as though she was trying to cram everything possible into the last two chapters for the sake of added twists'and drama.

It's hard to say whether or not I would recommend this book. It truly had a ton of promise but left me frustrated. I have several others by this author on my list, and I do intend to give her at least one more shot.

A masterful revenge, 10 years in the making!
Make Her Pay brings all the thriller revenge vibes. A terrible car incident leads Leonie on a path she never quite wanted for her life, which now seems to be driven by her father. Little did she know that fateful day would catch up with her 10 years later, as she finds her true love and marries him.

Loved all the interconnected twists throughout this book, and it kept me constantly on my toes.

The narrators did an amazing job with the two MCs and kept the hype moving throughout.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this advanced audio in return for my honest opinion.

I really liked this one. The twists and turns and the lengths taken for revenge were so good! The only thing I wish would have been different is I wish that Denise would have gotten her revenge. I love to see a good revenge plot work out! But the ending was really satisfying. Thanks to NetGalley for the chance to review!

Secrets, deception and revenge, oh my!

This book follows Leonie who has a dark secret from 10 years ago that is coming back to haunt her.

I enjoyed this book. The characters were extremely unlikeable to me, and it worked! The reveals along the way were not gasp-worthy or overly shocking, but they kept you drawn in and wanting to know what happens next. The end felt a bit rushed and the final reveal of the book made me shake my head a bit, but once it all wraps up, it makes the "you and me against the world" mentality strong and ends the book on a high note.

3.5/5 rounded up to 4.

A great suspenseful thriller!
Leonie made a terrible mistake when she was 16 and has been living with the consequences of her actions for the past ten years. Her dark secret haunts her, leaving her feeling tons of guilt. Unfortunately, she is not the only one to blame. Her father is just as guilty, if not more guilty of this crime than Leonie..
Close to 10 years later and Leonie feels like her life is finally starting to fall into place- she runs a great company (with the help of her wealthy parents, of course), she finally found the "perfect" guy, and the "best suited" employee, Diana. Everything seems too good to be true..
And it is.

I enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful all the way until the ending. Unfortunately the end seemed very flat to me and I wish it could've ended differently.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with yet another great read!

REVENGE!! That's the theme and the plot of this book. As the plot unfolds, the reader understands how the two characters are known to eachother, and why one of them is seeking justice for a past wrong.

Adding in some coincidences and misleading information, and this mystery is a gripping twisty story for readers to enjoy.

Good read, with SO MUCH manipulation! The ending felt a little bit rushed but not horribly so. I enjoyed it over all, and the narrators did a good job.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Make Her Pay by Miranda Rijks, an audiobook narrated by Charlie Albers and Ella Lynch was a brilliant psychological thriller with jaw-dropping moments! The first time I gasped out loud around 40% and the next time around 60%! I am not talking about the ending! That was phenomenal!

I wasn't sure about the narrators at the beginning as the voices weren't usual/expected ones but chapter by chapter they grew on me and there were emotional parts that played out so well! And the part with accents was brilliant! So in general I am really satisfied with the narrators.

Leonie, the daughter of the rich real estate business founder, made a crucial mistake at age 16! She never gets over it and this keeps her an emotional and financial hostage from her father's side. When she met Markus, the man of her dreams, she finally felt that she was taking her life in her hands but she could not be more wrong! Someone knows what she did and is ready to make her pay!

Once I started in the morning I knew I would not be able to leave it, so I used my every spare minute to listen as I was desperate to know, who was behind the nightmare!

Even though I already purchased an e-book I am happy that I received this audiobook as this gave me a chance to finish this book in one day! Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for this wonderful audiobook!
