I loved this book by Taylor~ the sisterly bonding, new friendships, and adventure at every turn hooked me. The very short chapters made for fast page-turning (I almost wished each chapter was a bit longer and more developed), and the unlikely traveling group in search of Madsi's sister and the Lights faced challenge after challenge, folklore creature after folklore creature. I found myself pausing to look up more information about the Norwegian culture and stories because they were so fascinating. The writing and pacing was perfect for middle grade readers, and the ending was incredibly heartfelt and satisfying. I'll definitely look for more from this author!
