Excellent character arcs and development, action, and spice scenes. Loved the expanded world building. Very enjoyable read!

A brilliant end to the duology, watching Zayna and Sachi change and grow into their powers was amazing. I also loved that the relationship between the three was a background occurrence in this book although it was front and centre in the first one. I very much enjoyed the whole series and am looking forward to what the authors come out with next.

I loved being back in this world. Consort of Fire was one of my favorite reads of the year, and this was a great follow-up. I loved getting to know more about Zanya and seeing Sachi develop her own power.

4.25 stars rounded up! I've found that I'm increasingly frustrated with the romantasy genre and its regurgitation and mashing up of tropes without deeper diversity, meaningful and good writing, or originality. Queen of Dreams (and its predecessor Consort of Fire) by Kit Rocha is a HUGELY refreshing addition to the genre that completely impressed and hooked me from the beginning! It perfectly blends fantasy world-building (think humans, gods/dragon shifters, wolf shifters, and witches) with queer romance (poly, FFM) and top-quality spice that really delivers and incorporates dragon fire?! I mean, come on!

I really enjoyed seeing the development of Ash and Zanya's dynamic and wish it could have gotten a little more emotionally intimate, but nonetheless it was very satisfying, especially seeing the final development of the poly dynamic between them and Sachi. This was really well served by getting all three characters' POVs. There were only a couple of instances when the plot was unneccessarily repeated in the different POVs, but that really didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the book.

Overall, Queen of Dreams was an extremely satisfying, sexy conclusion to this story, and I highly recommend giving the duology a read!

Thank you to NetGalley, Montlake, and Kit Rocha for providing an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review! All opinions expressed are my own.

I really enjoyed being back in this world, being with these characters again, as they dealt with everything that happened in the last book! That they're all powers, and have to deal with the Betrayer, yeah, that's a big deal, and I loved watching it all unfold!

The first book introduced us to this world, and these characters, and this book deepened our understanding of both. What with the truth out about them, and the threats that they're facing well, things got off to an excellent start that continued throughout the whole book!

This trio of characters, I really loved together. But they're in a pretty precarious situation, especially Sachi, which had me worried for her, being in the clutches of the bad guy. I wasn't sure how she was going to get out of it, to survive it, if she would at all.

When this book started, it felt a bit more like a love V then a love triangle, both Ash and Zanya loved Sachi, and she loves both of them, but the relaitonship between Ash and Zanya wasn't at the same level, so I really enjoyed how it developed over the course of this book!

This was so fantastic, and I need to read more by Kit Rocha!

My coworker was dying to get me to read Consort of Fire, and it had me feral for queen of dreams. Kit Rocha did not disappoint. Incredible world building, emotional ties between the characters that were as hot as they were sexy, all woven together by incredible writing. It is definitely something for the ACOTAR fans but better.

The Dragon found out in the previous book that this consort is the embodiment of the Dream and her girlfriend is the embodiment of the Void. In this book, he hopes to avoid war with his long estranged brother, as the last time the two gods went to war, the earth was almost destroyed. However when his consort is kidnapped by his brother, there is no choice left to him.
I really enjoyed this second book in the series. It did not get too convoluted, it moved the plot along nicely, and the character development was well done.

Thank you so much for granting me early access to this title.
I was in the middle of book 1 when i luckily found this one on here and I dove into it immediately I finished. While I appreciated the politicking and war strategies, I didn't enjoy it as much as I loved Consort of Fire. It felt as if the tempo dropped a little for me but there's many things I enjoyed like the depth to the friendships, that was lovely.

An engaged and solid installment in the series. Sometimes second books suffer from a lack of plot progression as authors try to set up the next book but the exact opposite happens in this book. The main focus for development character wise was Sachi, hence the name Queen of Dreams. We also see some growth as Zanya gets more comfortable with her own powers, but she proved how powerful she was in the last book and this book focused on how there are different forms of power. Ash was there to be growly, protective, and just generally a lovely, possessive dragon. I do like their dynamic as a whole and liked the pieces of backstory we were able to get on the individual characters. The supporting cast of characters is also wonderful and I love how they all truly become a family. A great read and I look forward to the next book.

Whilst I can see why people will enjoy this I found the writing style to be too chaotic for my liking and I could not get into it - unfortunately I dnf at 23%

“There is no wrong way to feel or not feel desire, and there is certainly no cowardice in it.”

Queen of Dreams (second book in the Bound to Fire series) begins with the timeline following straight on from Consort Of Fire, and you really do need to have read the first book to understand what is going on due to the heavy world-building the author set out in the first book. This world-building continues throughout this book beautifully and contributes to a well-rounded story.

I loved the character development in Zanya and Sachi and the way the authors approached the characters coming into their powers. Additionally, the way she builds on the relationship between Ash, Sachi and Zanya, as well as the well-written spice scenes, makes the whole book a real joy to read.

This series had everything I needed from it - a full world, great supporting characters, a great love between the leading characters, action, spice and a great ending.

Queen of Dreams is book two in the Bound to Fire and Steel series by Kit Rocha and it picks up shortly after book one leaves off so if you haven't read book one yet, you might want to hold on reading any further.

Now that Zanya has manifested her magic, she needs to embrace what she is and what she can do but because of their past, she fears the power she has. Ash quickly realizes he needs to hand over her training to someone who will truly push her to her limits and not try to protect her from everything so that's what he does and under the tutelage of Elevia and Ulric, she truly comes to realize what she can do.

At the same time, to kick off the story, Sachi is struggling with who she is and what her role is in everything. She hates sitting around waiting for Ash and Zanya while they go off to fight the Betrayer. But as her connection to the Dream deepens, she finds herself somehow pulled right into the Betrayer's stronghold and she sees this as her chance to do her part. She was raised to survive amongst the danger of a court so to gain his trust, she promises to not walk back to Ash and Zanya. If she can feed them any information she can find out while there, perhaps it can tip the scales in their favor. What Sachi finds out though is so much bigger than she expected though.

As everything comes to a head in this book and the final battle begins, it's definitely up in the air on which way everything will go. That said, I thought Rocha did a fantastic job of bringing everything together with this duology. Not only showing how Zanya and Sachi develop into who they are but also how things come to a head between Ash and the Betrayer. If you're looking for a new Romantasy to pick up, consider grabbing this one. There magic and world building are well done, the characters are well developed and if you're looking for spice, you'll for sure get it in this series.

What an absolute ride! I can see this so clearly on the big screen. The build up, the battle at the end, the sexy sexy scenes. everythiiiing!

My favourite thing is seeing Sachi and Zanya coming into their power, see more clearly how they and Ash just fit as a trio. That while they are gods their vulnerabilities shine through. Loved how complex and engaging ever character was. We finally got to meet the Betrayer and hoo boy what a guy.

The secondary characters also have me so intrigued (hello Aleksei i see youuu) as they are so different and colourful in their own ways. I do hope we get to see more of the High Court because they were so fascinating to me.

Enjoyed this immensely!

The worldbuilding is really outstanding, as was the magic. Then there was the action and the romance. Ugh, I HIGHLY recommend this story.

Queen of Dreams is the sequel to Consort of Fire in the Bound to Fire and Steel series. To be honest, I was a little worried before starting this book that it wouldn't be as good as the first book. However, it was surprisingly good, and it had a wonderful conclusion that left me satisfied.

Big fan of Kit Rocha. Loved the Beyond series. Enjoyed some kick-butt Librarians. Somehow missed the release of Consort of Fire? And I was a little worried about Queen of Dreams. I picked up the book once, put it down. Tried it again, put it down. I’m really glad I gave it third shot because once I got over the somewhat slow start—and that might be my fault because I jumped into the second book of a duology without knowing the back story—Queen of Dreams was a rocking Kit Rocha good time. A lot of action and some very good steam mixed with magic, dragons, dreams and nightmares made for a satisfying story.

I think this book made for a complete story on its own, but I’ll be going back to read the first book because I enjoyed this one.

Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for an eARC. Opinions are my own.

I absolutely LOVED CONSORT OF FIRE, book one in the Bound to Fire and Steel series, and they do need to be read in order as book two is a continuation from the first. I promise you, this series doesn't disappoint!

As Zanya finds herself, Sachi is left drifting and trying to find her purpose. The gods all have their own gifts and Zanya is trying to learn how to wield her power, often clumsily, but she's doing the best she can with what she has to work with. Ash is trying to keep the world together, avoiding any further confrontations with the Betrayer. To summarize, there is too much going on and something has to give!

I adore the growth that Zanya experiences, I find myself drawn to her and hoping everything finally "clicks." That's not to say she is more important than the other two, not at all. All three have a lot to overcome and are stronger together yet each have important roles to play.
Sachi really shines in this book (quite literally)! She is the embodiment of love and light; she is the perfect complement to Zanya's dark. When the time comes for Sachi to step up, she embraces the challenge with no fear!

Overall, I really enjoyed book two in the newest series by Kit Rocha (I love both books)! The story is unique, the characters are interesting, and the romance is different (and spicy). I don't want to say goodbye, I would really like to see how the court deals with the new, improved world!

This is the second book in this very engaging series, and you most definitely need to read them in order... or you will be pretty lost! If you read Consort of Fire a while ago, I think you will find that it all comes flooding back to you very quickly!

As Ash, Sachi, and Zanya somehow start to understand what they mean to each other and how their future might be, the women are also learning about their godly gifts. For Zanya, in particular, she needs to gain control of the immense power that she wields. Her lack of knowledge is causing mayhem and destruction – I loved how she is finally accepted for herself... even if she finds it very difficult to believe or trust it. Sachi is intent on finding a non-violent solution to the problems of the Betrayer still wanting to beat his brother Ash. Her world of Dreams is also one she is not entirely in control there yet. Ash and Zanya want to protect Sachi, yet their actions drive her into action.

This is a great adventure in another world, with at its heart the love of the three of them. The passion they unleash on each other is wonderfully hot and intense – giving them a chance to show how they feel even when they are not good at saying it. Very sensual and romantic amongst the madness going on around them

Already waiting for the next installment!
