Amazing visuals and facts. Perfect for classroom or home. DK books are great addition to any classroom library.
This is a very visually attractive book with large full-color photos and many fascinating facts about planets, animals, and more. I almost found it overstimulating with all the color. The photos could have been a little smaller I think - there wasn't a whole lot of room on each page around them for facts. Of course, this meant that the sheer quantity of facts per page wasn't as overwhelming as some similar books I've seen. It's the sort of book my kiddo (10) would love.
Thanks to NetGalley and DK Children for providing an early copy for review.
A really need book of facts. We're going to need a hard copy of this one! My reluctant reader was even excited to discover what was inside.
Thanks to DK and Netgalley for this wonderful (and beautiful) eARC!

"1,000 Amazing World Facts" by DK is a treasure trove of the extraordinary and the unbelievable. This book is a testament to the wonders of our world and beyond, capturing the imagination with every turn of the page. Aimed at young readers aged "9 to 12 years" , it's a visual feast that educates and delights those of ANY age.
The book spans a generous "176 pages" , each one packed with vibrant images and eye-catching graphics that bring the facts to life. The layout is intuitive and engaging, making it easy for readers to dip in and out of topics that pique their interest. From the vastness of space to the intricacies of the natural world, no stone is left unturned in this comprehensive collection of facts.
One of the book's strengths is its ability to contextualize information in a way that resonates with the reader. For instance, comparing the size of the Moon to Australia or illustrating the enormity of Jupiter in relation to Earth provides a tangible sense of scale that is often missing from statistical data. The book doesn't shy away from the quirky and the curious either—did you know that the blue whale's heart is as big as a car, or that the colossal squid has eyes the size of beach balls?
What sets "1,000 Amazing World Facts" apart is its commitment to sparking curiosity. It doesn't just present facts; it invites readers to question, explore, and discover more about the world around them. This is a book that encourages critical thinking and a thirst for knowledge, making it a valuable addition to any young reader's library.
In conclusion, "1,000 Amazing World Facts" is a delightful and informative read that deserves a spot on every young explorer's bookshelf. It's a book that will be returned to time and again, each visit uncovering a new layer of wonder and excitement. DK has once again proven their expertise in creating content that is both educational and captivating, making learning an adventure in itself.
What's not to like? A hearty recommendation and ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from this pleased reviewer!
I love a good fact book, and DK's new 1,000 Amazing World Facts definitely amazed me more than once! There were quite a few times I said, "I didn't know that!" -- and many times I went down a rabbit trail to learn more about a new topic. I would definitely want a physical copy of this book to be able to see all the visual comparisons and illustrations more easily.
This book is full of facts that will surprise people. There were a lot in there that I didn't know. The pictures and illustrations also were engaging and helped support the facts.
My students were thrilled to be given access to this book. They loved learning about bats, the huge snakes, and other animal facts. They will use the information to write books of their own. They liked that it gave them new and unique ideas for their own writing. The spider page was creepy! It gave us quite a scare when we turned to it. Overall, this book was engaging for my first grade students. Some of the facts were basic, such as how long or heavy things were. The comparisons to actual other objects made that information easier to conceptualize for my first graders. They are so grateful to netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
My kids love any sort of nonfiction book, and this fit the bill for my elementary schoolers! This is the type of book they could reach for over and over
A great book. It has fantastic photos and drawings. There were so many facts that I didn't know so that was very fun.
I really like how for some things like caves it shows how many of something we see every day would fit in there. That gives us a better idea of just how much that is. This would be great for any kids you know.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.
My son absolutely loved this book. He is really into learning new facts right now. He and I both kept saying wow over and over. I had no idea about many of these facts. They are truly amazing to learn and think about. We especially enjoyed the facts about nature- the waterfalls, the mountains, rivers, etc. The book is full of beautiful and engaging photos and illustrations too. This would make a great gift for any fact obsessed kiddo.
