Read this with my daughters and all three of us loved it. It’s YA fiction of the best sort: written smartly and relatably with great characters who have real struggles and overcome great challenges. The story moves fast and is compelling. The world-building is imaginative and fun and picturesque. It is magical and fantastical but also grounded and human. I am excited to read the next couple in the series.

Sorry, this book/story was just okay. I actually never could get into the story and wound up leaving it unfinished.

I requested all 5 of these books that were available at the time on NetGalley, without even reading the first one. So rookie error there as I didn't enjoy The Six.
I wanted to, it has the makings of a great series, but there was something missing for me. I couldn't connect with the characters and found it hard to get into.
