This book was such a fun ride! It was a wonderful addition from the author of To Have and To Heist. It picks up a year after the events of the first book with our main characters at odds. Simi is back to her day to day job, and Jack has moved on. By now, the excitement from their previous heist has worn off, and Simi and her crew are wondering what’s next? When someone shows up at their door demanding payment for the necklace they stole (payment that's been long since spent), the only thing to do is to get the gang back together.

This book is best enjoyed in order. A lot of important events take place in book one that are needed to fully enjoy this read. It was filled with lots of familiar faces and I enjoyed all the new characters. I love a good Heist book, and this one did not disappoint. It was funny, sweet, and so exciting. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see if these characters could pull this off. Especially when things get dicey. There were moments when I didn’t know if these characters would get a happy ending, but I loved the way everything tied up.

A huge thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this awesome book.

This book was SO MUCH FUN!! I absolutely loved it even more than the previous one. Simi and and her crew have the best chemistry and every character is well-written and has so much personality. The heist and the plot was also intriguing and compelling - I was invested until the end.

A nice, sweet, closed-door romance that had comedic flair. Enjoyed this follow up to Sara Desai's "To Have and To Heist"

This book picks up a year after To Have and To Heist ends. Simi and Jack have some personal drama, but need to set it aside for another jewelry heist. This book (like the first) gives major Oceans Eleven vibes. The romance didn’t work for me as well in this book as it did the first. However, the mystery and the con were so much fun. This is truly a wild ride with so much drama and some hilarious antics. This book is filled with excitement and makes for a fun and quick read.

Thank you to Berkley Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced copy.

When the sequel is just as fun as the first you have a win!

I had loads of fun reading the latest antics of Simi and crew. Months after their first heist, Simi’s trying to keep her event planning business afloat. Jack is nowhere to be seen. Off the grid involved in god knows what. It’s put a strain on their relationship and eventually Simi calls things off. In the meantime, trouble finds Simi when the mobster from whom they stole the diamond necklace demands they return it. He’s holding one of their crew as hostage to encourage them to comply. Simi gathers everyone to plan another heist, and Jack returns with his ex and fellow thief in tow. What a mess!

Once again, I loved all the chaos and ridiculousness! This is the strangest found family of amateur criminals you’ll come across. Simi’s uber rich friend, Simone plays a bigger role, and she’s so over-the-top hilarious!

Highlights:
* Shenanigans
* Rom com, love triangle & spice
* Suspense
* Eccentric characters

I’ve really enjoyed these books and I hope there’s more to come. Definitely add this to your late summer reading!

Book 2 of Sara Desai's Simi Chopra series. This series is contemporary romance with some action, adventure, mystery and suspense. Each book is focused on the most likable and unlikely heist crew you'll ever come across.

It was fun to revisit these characters and get sucked into another high stakes heist with this motley crew. There is a lot of competition and backstabbing in the caper world and Jack finds himself up against his ex who is out to best him and possibly kill him. With their relationship in tatters, and old rivals looking to even a score, Jack and Simi must get the crew back together to retrieve a diamond necklace.

Full of witty banter, action and the funniest heist crew that will steal your heart with their fierce loyalty this series is definitely one I recommend if you enjoy books like Finley Donovan by Elle Cosimano or Jesse Q. Sutanto's Aunties series.

4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Til Heist Do Us Part
Author: Sara Desai

The perfect, fun, thriller x romcom read. Thank you so much Netgalley and Berkley for the ARC! This is Book #2 of the Simi Chopra series and it picked up right where the first one left off. Simi and her crew stole some jewels in the first book and have run out of money after spending all of the winnings. A mafia boss shows up demanding payment for the stolen goods. Also, Simis now ex boyfriends Jacks nemesis appears to be who now has the jewels in hand. This book had all the twisty, fun aspects of a mystery but it was a romance which I loved. It was also pretty funny and I feel like there aren’t enough books written like this. Please drop more thriller romcoms in the comments if you have some to reccomend! I liked this book more than the first, but I do recommend you read them in order. I’m looking forward to more adventure of Simi and Jack and I hope she continues this series. 🔎🕵️❤️

This was definitely a funny read!

The romance was fun, but not my favorite. There were a few things that made me cringe, but overall very funny!

When I picked up "Til Heist Do Us Part," I didn't realize it was the second book in a series, and looking back, I think reading the first book would have enhanced my experience. The familiarity with the characters from book 1 would have provided more background information that could have enriched the story. The romance aspect, which I was looking forward to, seemed overshadowed by other elements in the plot, leaving me slightly disappointed. At times, I found myself confused by certain parts of the story, prompting me to go back and reread. I'm not sure if this confusion stemmed from skipping the first book or if the dialogue lacked clarity. Nevertheless, I appreciated the heist aspects of the story. The banter between the characters added some humor, and the pacing of the storyline was decent. Overall, I found the book to be ok, but I can't shake the feeling that I might have loved it more if I had read the first installment. Despite this, I don't think I'll go back to read it now. If you're a fan of diverse characters and enjoy a touch of suspense, this book might still be worth checking out.

For some reason I had trouble getting into this one. I think I don't really like the trope where someone assumes the worst about their romantic partner without letting them explain. I also struggle with the whole "this entire situation could have been avoided with a simple conversation." I really enjoy this author and I liked the first book. I think I just wanted the MCs to communicate better.

I received an ARC copy from NetGalley and am leaving my review voluntarily.

I was so excited to read this book after the first one – To Have and To Heist. The first one was thrilling and had just the right amount of danger and romance. And this one? Kind of fell short for me. I felt like it was too similar to the first and honestly lost me in few spots.

My first gripe is that there are too many characters in the book. I felt like every single chapter had a new character introduced and each character got a full body description, first and last name, backstory, and whatever else Desai wanted to add. It was way too much and it was utterly confusing to remember who was who. I’ll admit, I was listening to this as an audiobook so that might have contributed to my confusion but I was paying close attention because I couldn’t remember who was who.

My second grip was that Simi was extremely childish. She hates Jack because he left her and she definitely shows it. But in an extremely childish way. She gives him the silent treatment and talks to him through others and it was ridiculous. She is 30 and giving a love interest the silent treatment.

Lastly, the action wasn’t there at all. Sure, there were points where action was occurring, but it just felt bland. There wasn’t any excitement and didn’t make me feel like I was on the edge of my seat.

All in all, I think the first book would have been just fine to end the series. I was excited that it was continued but when you get this as a second book? It’s upsetting.

I loved To Have and To Heist by Sara Desai, so I definitely jumped on the offer to ARC read Til Heist Do Us Part.

I will start out by saying, the first couple of chapters were a “previously on” (which was nice since it’s been a while, but also as a content dump was a little much). That said, Til Heist Do Us Part is definitely *not* a stand alone!

There was a lot going on in this story - action, romance, a heist within a heist, drama, spice. I do wish the crew had been more prominent in this one, though.

While this was a fun read, To Have and To Heist is still my favorite in the series so far.

Thank you to @berkleypub for the #gifted ebook!

3⭐, 2🌶️

My biggest qualm of this book which is probably(definitively is) just me problem? This is the second book in a series, and I started without realizing there was a book before this (To Have and to Heist). The book did a fairly good job summarizing everything that happened in book one, but when there is romance too, I feel like I missed a whole lot of Jack and Simi's backstory/ angst causing drama. Then when the first "romantic" scene was fade to black, I was CONCERENED. We get open door spice later on, but It was still rather restrained.

The Heist plot was interesting (again, this is spilling over from book one) and I really enjoyed the cast of side characters in this book. Very much what you would expect from a romantic suspense.

All in all, not great, but not horrible. Would I have liked it more if I read book #1? Im gonna say definitely. Will I read book #1...ehh. We shall see.

Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

I’m not going to lie I struggled to finish this book. I’m not sure if it was because I never was able to give it my entire attention or if it never really pulled me in like some books do. I will say I loved the addition of the new people into the crew and how they were pulled into the story as the adventure started to unfold starting with Angelini coming to threaten Simi and Jack. I’m not going to lie it took me quite a while to warm back up to Jack throughout this book. I really liked him in the first one and was disappointed with how he treated Simi after the ending of the last book and throughout the beginning of this one.

Honestly took me a little bit to get in to. Wasn’t expecting the beginning of the book. The whole crew was still fun to see again!

I read the first one in this series, so requesting this one was a must. I loved the dynamic of the misfit crew with a few additions in this book. The characters are all so much fun. The banter is funny and the relationship between Simi and Nick holds it all together.

This was my first of Sara Desai’s books (I *know* it’s the second in the series, but I didn’t know that when I started), and I really enjoyed it. As noted, this is the second in this series, but I found you didn’t need to have read the first to understand and enjoy the second.

Here’s my breakdown:

Things I liked - The storyline (very unique, loved the heist/crime aspect); the bumbling menagerie of characters making up the crew; loved the diversity of the characters; Simone absolutely tickled me; the almost-random inclusion of the bikers.

The characters are quirky (especially Simone), flawed (in a good way), and lovable. There are quite a few characters, so at first it can be difficult keeping them all straight, but once you get used to their personalities, it’s no bother. Jack’s not just a jewel thief; he’s a gardening-obsessed repatriator of goods. Simi was a “regular” person, and I liked that she wasn’t perfect and needed to work through things, usually by talking them out with her “bestie.” Chloe and Gage are adorable. Emma is a character, and I love her little side story with Axle. Anil…..I KNEW IT. Cristian I hated - boi bye. Simone, already mentioned, I loved her. That might be a controversial sentiment, but, uh, I stand by it!

The major thing I didn’t love was the pacing. That could just be a me thing, though, and it definitely didn’t detract from my love of the story. I think there were a couple of holes in the plot lines that I would have liked to have seen tied up (no pun intended…but actually, maybe pun intended).

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book!

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

I need to stop reading these out of order. No worries, it was still fun.

Simi is a reluctant crew leader who is still infatuated with Jack. A tad cliché, but his full name is Jack Danger. And he is dangerous.

They are trying to pull off the con of their lives, while still maintaining that they are the "good guys." There is betrayal from a non-obvious angle. There is a double betrayal from a very obvious angle. While not riveting, this still amused.
