This book is overly long. This is not a bedtime reading picture book, this is a second grade and older learn something reading book. This is all about mindfulness what it means and why it’s important. It gives activities for the reader to do both creative and just listening. The information is interesting but feels like it gets incredibly repetitive making it hard to get to the last page. The information is useful and has a place. I’m just not sure this is the most successful presentation of this information.
My family is thoroughly enjoying this Mindfulness book series! Mindfulness and Me is a fantastic book to introduce youngsters to mindfulness and help them understand it through their senses, body, mind, and spirit. The illustrations are colorful and diverse, the text is accessible and the perfect amount for early elementary age kids, and the activities are delightful. I highly recommend this series for parents, teachers, and other caregivers who want to encourage mindfulness in their children and families.

"Mindfulness and Me" is a fantastic introduction to mindfulness for children and young people. Accessible and easy to follow, it offers a range of creative activities that make mindfulness engaging and enjoyable. Each activity is clearly outlined, providing insight into the mindfulness benefits it offers. This book is a valuable resource for introducing mindfulness to young minds in an imaginative and practical way.
I absolutely loved this! I’m a school psychologist and always looking for great mindfulness books to read to my students. I loved all of the different examples and strategies that were given. This book gives so many different exercises and activities for children to do and it explains how these activities will help as well. This would also be a great book for parents do read with their kids because it will help explain to the adults as well what mindfulness is and how it helps you in life. Also, the artwork is beautiful! I love the inclusiveness of the children throughout the story. The diversity, from ethnicity to children with different disabilities, is amazing.
This is a must read for those helping children navigate through the complexities of life. The book has examples of mindful activities for calming children as well as detailed explanations for how these activities are helpful.
I love mindfulness. This book has lots of great ideas. The content is presented in an easy to understand and implement format.
I love the concept of teaching children to be mindful, through the exercises and activities they can become aware of slowing down and clearing out all the distractions running wild in their brain. Learning mindfulness is not easy and requires much practice, which the exercises and activities bring a beautiful way of training ourselves to learn new habits and experience the world with more awareness of our emotions and how our body responds to what is happening around us. Illustration was colourful and calming to look at.

This was the perfect book for children to learn and understand mindfulness. In addition to being the right length, with relevant and appropriate content, I loved all the kid friendly exercises for each section. As an adult who practices mindfulness, I found this book to be a powerful yet gentle tool for children to start their own mindfulness journey. Thank you NetGalley and Mayo Clinic Press for the chance to review this wonderful ARC.
This is a great book to introduce young kids (4-7-year-olds especially) to the concept of mindfulness. There are many exercises to help kids slow down and learn to be mindful of their surroundings, from yoga-like exercises to art and writing projects. The writing is simple and easy to understand and great for reading to young kids.
I really like the diversity of the illustrations: the kids depicted in the illustrations have a variety of skin tones and races. Some wear glasses, and one is wearing the hijab. The illustrations are also quite playful and childlike which lightens the overall tone of the book.
*Thanks to NetGalley and Mayo Clinic Press Kids for providing an early copy for review.
This was such a great story! It covered such a wonderful concept! And had such fun pictures! A little long and a little wordy for a child to read on their own. But for someone to read to them it’s perfect.
