This was for me first book from the author/series and it is an interesting paranormal story. Both Nina and Adam are interesting and they get or rather give their love a chance in the book. I liked Adam but was frustrated a little bit with -Nina's attitude. Overal interesting intense story.

Fangs and Family by Olena Nikitin is a gripping and thrilling vampire romance novel that will leave readers on the edge of their seats. The book follows Nina, a human who is forced to turn to her nemesis, the vampire Adam, for help when her brother goes missing and his friends are slaughtered. Nina and Adam have a complicated past full of hurt and humiliation, but as they work together to retrieve the ancient artifact that her brother stole and save him from his enemy, they start to develop feelings for each other.

The story is full of twists and turns, keeping readers engaged and invested in the characters and their journey. Nikitin does an excellent job of creating a vampire world that is both fascinating and terrifying, with complex characters that are easy to root for. The chemistry between Nina and Adam is electric, and the tension between them is palpable.

Overall, Fangs and Family is an excellent read for fans of vampire romance novels. It has everything you could want in a book - action, romance, and suspense - and leaves readers wanting more. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a thrilling and entertaining read.

This story caught me off guard. I don't know what I expected, but this was better for sure.

And the character art.... ugghhh yes! So good.

If you love Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance, winged men, high stakes, plot with smut.... then this is definitely for you.

Book 2 of Olena Nikitin’s Amber Legends series, “Fangs and Family” takes place in modern Poland around two years after the conclusion of the first installment, “Magic and Medicine,” and focuses on Adam, a morally grey vampire Seethe Master with a roguish charm, and Nina, a fierce human nurse with a troubled past. After a whirlwind weeks-long romance that developed - and ended - between the main characters towards the end of the first book, Adam is still pining over the woman who so abruptly kicked him out of her home with no explanation. Meanwhile, Nina is working hard at the clinic established by Leszek for his wife Sara (our beloved main characters from “Magic and Medicine”), when her junkie younger brother Pawel shows up offering her an old locket while desperately asking her for money. Used to his ways, she denies him, but is left feeling unsettled when it’s clear something is wrong and Pawel goes missing after discovering that the Prince of the Vampires, Leon Sapieha, is searching for him. Upon exhausting all her avenues, she finally asks Adam, known for being “the best tracker and hacker in the Tricity area,” for help in finding her brother. What follows is a journey of self-discovery filled with danger, trauma, and unexpected revelations as they work to recover Pawel and come to understand each other better than they had. Will they succeed?

One of the highlights of “Fangs and Family” is the dynamic between Adam and Nina. Indeed, Nikitin masterfully crafts their relationship, infusing it with tension, passion, and plenty of snarky banter. While Nina’s initial reluctance to trust Adam may vex some readers (as it did me), her growth throughout the story is both natural and satisfying given what she’s been through. That said, some may find the balance of power in their relationship somewhat skewed. Despite Adam’s unwavering dedication and sacrifice for Nina, she doesn’t fully allow herself to reciprocate his feelings or even efforts. This adds an intriguing layer of complexity to their romance, though it may leave you wanting to throw hands with Nina on behalf of our deliciously sexy and endearing cinnamon roll of a leading man.

Moreover, as much as I hate the miscreant, the characterization and background provided for the antagonist is also quite well done (ergo my visceral dislike for him). The continuation of elements of Slavic mythology and Polish culture further enrich the story with authenticity and depth, and, while the book can be read as a standalone, I absolutely adored the inclusion and scenes with characters from the first book, especially Sara and Leszek. Seeing them as a married couple, and their friendships with Nina and Adam, just makes me love the four of them even more. I was also pleasantly surprised to see a bit of growth for Pawel as well, who incited all of the events in the story to begin with. Finally, and to be fair, the book could use a final round of proofreading and review of some minor plot holes and inconsistencies (such as discrepancies in Adam’s age and the portrayal of vampire physiology), but I don’t believe these flaws are ones that most readers would even think twice about.

Teeming with vampires, Slavic mythology, ancient artifacts, simmering tensions, and complex characters, this urban fantasy did not disappoint. If you enjoy second chance romances, delectable male main characters, forced proximity, or touch her and die tropes, this is one you won’t want to miss.

Content warnings include coarse language, graphic sex scenes and sexual innuendo, death, gore, torture, physical and emotional violence, and nonconsensual mind control.

This is the second book in the series. I have not read Sara and Leshy story yet but I want to! This story has a bit of everything happening: magic, drama, some violence, banter, vampires and so much more.

You know I had to read this story because of vampires...and that isn't the cover beautiful?? (There's a hint in it too!)

I really liked the story. I could not stop reading it. I had to know what was going to happen with Nina and Adam.

The vampire and the human along with a second chance, fighting, drama, mythology and so much more. I want more of this world. The author has won me over into reading more!

Adam reminds me a combination of fighting skills from Selene and an attitude of Spike from his dark days. He also battles his emotions on and off which is fascinating. I like him, is that wrong? His connection with Nina runs hot and cold which could indicate something magical, right? Oh and Adam's housekeeper is a hoot and made me laugh a few times! That's all I'm going to say about that.

Nina is full of attitude, sassy and has a hint of tenderness. I like how she connects with her friend Sara. Just something about their friendship is almost like a kinship. I loved how Nina figures some things out in this book. I loved Nina's interaction with the housekeeper too.

The ending shocked me! Just when I think I knew the ending....Nope! I was not ready for it. I'm definitely ready to read more from this author!

Nina is this strong, ‘I can take care of myself’ fmc that I absolutely LOVE to see in books. The second chance trope rings true and is perfect here between Nina and Adam.

Now — Nina works at a hospital, a nurse with a junkie brother who inevitably up and disappears. Adam, a vampire and tracker, agrees to help find him under one condition of feeding off Nina, and that she moves in with him.

The banter is great and I really loved the chemistry between the two. Adam is incredibly possessive, protective and falls first. While Nina was quick to forgive Adam, I think the well written spicy scenes make up for that.

Full of paranormal fun and a rollercoaster of a ride, Nikitin writes a beautiful story here. Even with not reading the prior novel, I was easily able to pick up on and understand the goings on.

I love that the MC and FC have history and that while it didn’t work out for them the first time around they get this second shot at things.

The banter is also really good!

And we have a bad*ss female who likes to remind the MC she can take care of herself, even if she is only human.

I was hooked from the beginning of the book and enjoyed the relationship between Nina and Adam. I love a second chance romance!! I do wish I would have read the first book in the series, however, didn’t find it necessary to thoroughly enjoy the story.. I am definitely going to read the first book and then will likely be reading this book again 😉

Nina and Adam were a thing 2 years ago. When a misunderstanding happened, Nina kicked him to the curb. Now 2 years later and Adam still wants her. When Nina’s brother goes missing, she has to ask Adam for help in tracking him down before an Elder Vampire finds him & 💀 him. Adam agrees only if Nina will move In with him & let him drink her 🩸.

I’m a sucker for a possessive MMC & anything fantasy so this book was right up my alley! I love it! I thought the plot was great with some tension & issues along the way. The only thing I disliked was how fast Nina forgave Adam so it was a quick enemies to lovers story!

This book is a fun fantasy/paranormal book with a enemies to lover vibe. I loved reading this enough fantasy creatures. The level of spice is great not to less not to much. Nina is one badass women and nina and adam give us a rollercoaster vibe in this book.
This book is amazing and im so thankfull to receive a arc from netgalley. I hope to read more from Olena in the future

If you're looking for a Paranormal enemies to lovers this is a book for you. Plenty of tension and snark on this rollercoaster ride as you learn more about the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story.

Vampires, witches, seers, and old forest gods come together in a fantasy adventure of good versus evil, and yep, they are the good guys! Following the trials of a human and vampire, definitely enemies to lovers on a bumpy road, that is definite paranormal fun. Strong story and much flirting, snark, and heat - definitely keeps things interesting.

Fangs ans family balances fantasy and romance perfectly; making it a thrilling and an absolute exciting read. The book's overall quality and the balance of its elements make it a perfect recommendation for anyone looking for a great read in the romantasy genre. Highly going to recommend it.
