Loved this book! Paige and Dylan spend their summer looking for his sister, Audrey, who disappeared the summer before. Both families go to the beach each summer, but this summer Audrey is not herself. She got in trouble for stealing from her parents, lied to Paige about where she was going, and basically kicked Paige out of her life. The next summer these two start digging into what happened to Audrey, as well as Madison Blake, who disappeared before. They discover that Madison is not a nice person and have every reason to think she fled town. Characters are introduced, secrets and lies are revealed. I did not see the culprit coming, but this book was a nice summer read. Narrator really kept my interest.
The Summer She Went Missing by Ichaso had great characters and an engaging plot. The narrator was great,
This was an excellent read. I actually listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narration! I had trouble stopping listening and finished it in about 2 days!! I was really surprised by so many twists in the book. You didn't know what Paige was going to find out. She was so persistent, to a fault. I enjoyed the suspense, drama, and even the love stories mixed in! This was a great mix of multiple genres and kept the reader wanting more!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this YA book. I thought it was a little stretched at some points during the story, but I'm a sucker for twists and turns.
Chelsea chose characters that were relatable or thought to be relatable. The rich kids, the rich kid's friends and of course the regular kids. And of course, when there are rich kids, something always happens to regular kids and the rich kids always find ways to cover things up...but Chelsea did a great job throwing me for a loop in this book.
I would love to listen to more of hers.
Thank you #NetGalley and #TantorAudio for this ALC in return to my honest review.
3.5 stars Paige and Dylan had a steamy summer romance which abruptly ended when Dylan's sister, Audrey, went missing. Then the summer ended and the next year Paige and her family went back to Dylan's family Summer home again. This time slowly Dylan and Paige decide to team up since it's been a year since Audrey's disappearance and there were no leads they are going to find out what happened to Audrey. However, as they start finding leads everything begins to get intense and they are constantly watching their backs because they are finding things out about people they thought were their friends.
*Special thanks to NetGalley and Tantor Audio for this audio e-arc.*
Probably more like a 3.5 read, this was an interesting and twisty YA mystery. I had to remind myself who the target audience is a few times, because I was getting annoyed at the teenagers' actions. I did figure out the big twist before the main character, but that did not take away from enjoying the book. Amy McFadden did an excellent job of narrating this book and was able to vocally capture these characters perfectly. A huge thank you to NetGalley, RB Media, & Tantor Audio for the opportunity to listen to this ALC in exchange for my honest opinion.
A solid read!
If you're a fan of That's Not My Name, you'll enjoy this one! This was a gripping novel with unexpected twists and turns. I highly recommend it to fans of YA mysteries and thrillers.
I think it's best to go in blind, but for those who are interested, here's a quick rundown:
Every summer, Paige Redmond's family would pack up and head out to Clearwater Ridge, where they would spend their days with the Covingtons. Paige looked forward to these summers, as they meant spending time with her best friend, Audrey Covington. They would spend their days sunbathing, swimming in the river, and partying. However, this summer was different. Paige's crush on Audrey's brother, Dylan, was finally reciprocated. Unfortunately, their developing romance was cut short when Audrey went missing. Despite the police giving up on the case, Paige and Dylan are determined to find out what happened to Audrey. They'll need to put their heads together and follow every lead if they want to unravel the mystery and bring Audrey home.
***Thank you to NetGalley, Chelsea Ichaso, and Tantor Audio for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.***
Thank you NetGalley and Tantor Audio for this audio ARC.
Sadly, I was not a fan of the narration. I blame age bc Amy McFadden sounded like a perfect, annoying teenager (spot on for the book!).
I will be buying the book bc I adore Chelsea Ichaso.
Thank you Netgalley and Tantor Audio for the ALC.

The Summer She Went Missing is a twisty YA thriller about the bond being tested between two best friends when one goes missing. Every summer, Paige spends the summer with her best friend, Audrey, and Audrey’s brother (and Paige’s crush), Dylan. One summer, Audrey seems off. Paige doesn’t know why her best friend is pushing her away, but she is distracted by her burgeoning romance with Dylan. That summer, Audrey goes missing and everything changes. When Paige returns to the vacation town, she is determined to find out what happened to her best friend.
This was a solid thriller and kept my attention throughout. I was interested in both the romantic aspect and the mystery. Amy McFadden brings the story to life as always. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook!

The Summer She Went Missing is a captivating YA thriller. It was very addictive and kept me intrigued. It was definitely a fun ride.
There were many twists and turns throughout the book. Although many twists were highly predictable it still kept me intrigued until the finale. The characters were lacking development, they lacked a certain depth to make them more relatable.
The plot was highly intriguing, but the execution in some parts fell flat for me. The ending was a little too much in my opinion. It was still an enjoyable YA thriller.
🎧 The narration by Amy McFadden was really good, I felt she fit the role of a teen perfectly. She had the right tones and intonations. She truly kept me interested.

Sometimes you really just need a good teen summer thriller to get you in the Summer mood and since the weather is starting to get warmer I was ready. This did the trick! I really enjoyed it. Does it feel a little teeny at times, yes? But it's a YA book so that's the intended audience not a 30 something woman.
However, I still liked it and was along for the ride. I thought the side romance plot was super cute and it made me happy. It definitely kept me guessing too and I didn't have it all figured out so yay for that! If you're looking for a good YA summer thriller, definitely give this a shot. The audio was a great format!
I Paige spends her summers in Clearwater Ridge with her family and their close friends the Covingtons. Audrey and Paige have been best friends since the first grade, and Paige has had a crush on Audrey's older brother Dylan for almost as long. Now, as teenagers, Dylan may be returning those feelings. While Paige believes this will be the ultimate summer, Audrey begins acting out-of-character and shunning Paige. Then, at the end of summer, Audrey goes missing. A year later, Audrey is still missing. While their relationship may not have lasted, Paige and Dylan decide to team-up to try to discover what happened to Audrey.
This was a quick 4 star YA thriller that I really enjoyed.
The Summer She Went Missing is packed full of twists and red herrings. I kept thinking I knew what had happened to be totally surprised by a new twist. But the author does tie everything together nicely in the end. The characters are interesting, and there is a bit of romance throughout the book. The story also highlights the ups and downs of teenage friendships. The setting was perfect for this type of book and added to the story. Overall, I found The Summer She Went Missing to be an intriguing, quick read. I'll definitely be reading more by Chelsea Ichaso in the future.
A good YA thriller, if not a little long winded in some parts with Paige babbling on and on about stuff.
Paige and Dylan hunting down what happened to Audrey last summer after they broke up was kind of a fun twist to the story line. Adding some further will they won't they in between the whodunit.
It was fun and frustrating every time Paige was so certain she figured out what was going on. I know I figured part of it out well before her character did. She was a little bit annoying, part whiny and all teenager. Even so, I still rooted for her to win.
I received a copy of the audiobook to provide an honest review.
The narrator, Amy McFadden, did a fantastic job in keeping the story interesting and engaging.
A tale of two families who enjoy spending their summers in a vacation town until one of their girls goes missing. Paige and Dylan are the best friend and brother of Aubrey who goes missing one summer, the same summer that they also formed a romantic connection. The following summer they are determined to find Aubrey. Initially they do not get very far but once they start following some leads, the people they knew and loved from their vacation town start to look more guilty. This book was a great, fast-paced thriller. I enjoyed it a lot!
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebook for the arc of this book.
Thank you NetGalley for the copy of this audiobook.
Enjoyed this novel a lot, more twists than expected and the final scene was worth the build up. The last chapter I'm pretending didn't exist because it was so brush off of everything that happened that it felt ridiculous. The narrator was definitely true to the character but listening to the whole plot in a bratty/whiny teen voice was a bit of a challenge. Would read more from this author! But maybe not listening again so I can make up my own voice.
Oh I just loved this one, I read Dead girls cant tell secrets not long ago so when i saw this one i immediately requested an arc and it did not dissapoint in any way.
I loved the combo of teens being teens and trying to bring justice, it did have chelseas signature tho: everyone is a suspect and well have like 30 wrong theories before we get it
But that made it so good and honestly very relatable, just teens being teens and trying to solve something while still worrying about boys and relationships
Amazing book
The Summer She Went Missing begins with a very slow burn backstory, which is one of the areas I think this book went wrong. A good thriller utilizes a properly executed prologue to grip you and get you intrigued enough to make it through the slower development parts of the story.
While the premise sounded interesting, many of the twists were predictable and the characters unlikeable. The romance between Paige & Dylan was one element of the story I enjoyed and their dynamics kept my interest in finding out how everything unfolded. I was a bit underwhelmed by the ending, and it felt like so much went into the buildup for a rushed conclusion.
🎧 Audiobook review:
Amy McFadden did an excellent job of narrating this book and was able to vocally capture the characters personalities perfectly. This was a harder audio book to follow with the wide arrangement of characters (which I get were to give us a larger suspect pool). It may have been easier as a read vs a listen IMO due to the amount of characters to keep track of.
3.5 ⭐️ rounded down - with a kudos to Amy McFadden on her narration! 👏
Thank you to NetGalley, RB Media, & Tantor Audio for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.
Great ya mystery thriller., No language, sex or gore. Early hook with multiple red herrings. Edge of your seat ending. Realistic and relatable character.
I listened to the audiobook and here’s a secret: I chose it because my very favorite narrator (Amy McFadden) was the one reading it. As always, she was wonderful- perfect voices, tones, emotions, suspense building-she does it all! The book itself as also great! This author elevated the typical YA mystery into something so much more- drama, intrigue, twists. It was so good! I added her other 3 books to my TBR list and bumped them right up to the top. Highly recommend this one to anyone looking for a clean mystery. And of course, I recommend the audio version so you too can experience it being read by the best narrator!
The Summer She Went Missing is a YA thriller, however, don’t mistake it as only a YA book. It was so good and the twists in this book were shocking!! Yes, this is a perfect fast paced thriller for a young adult but I think everyone would enjoy this book. To me this book is if a girl went missing from “The Summer I Turned Pretty” world. All of the characters are teenagers and most of them come from rich families, all of which belong to a county club. If you like a good mystery with rich high school students, you’ll enjoy this book.
The narrator did a great job!!! It was so easy to listen to this book in one day.
