I loved the narration and I loved the ending! I was not at all expecting that. This was an easier listen than the other audiobooks I listened to recently. It was nice to be able to listen without having to overthink the story.

Chelsea Ichaso's "The Summer She Went Missing" is a gripping young adult thriller that seamlessly blends the suspenseful allure of "A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder" with an intricate plot that defies expectations. Listening to Amy McFadden's narration in the audiobook added an extra layer of authenticity to the story, earning this audiobook a solid 5 out of 5 stars.

The immersive narrative, diverse characters, and unexpected twists kept me engrossed from the very beginning. The story effortlessly captures the essence of teenage years and explores a riveting dynamic between characters as they unravel a mysterious disappearance. A compelling, fast-paced thriller that is sure to captivate fans of the genre.

I enjoyed this young adult thriller. It follows Paige’s search for Audrey, her best friend who went missing after a summer of slightly drifting apart, and what Paige later finds out, many secrets. Could Audrey’s disappearance be related to the other missing girl in town?

I love a mystery thriller. I also think a mystery thriller is a perfect story of suspense compatible with young adult fiction. There’s not a lot of gore or graphic violence (sexual nor physical), and I feel like it suits the age range well. This is definitely something I would’ve enjoyed reading as a teenager, and I enjoyed it now as an adult.

The writing was great, I enjoyed the narrator, and the story kept me engaged throughout. Unlike a lot of young adult mysteries, I didn’t have to suspend disbelief too much to fall into the story. Definitely give this one a read!

I literally could not stop reading this until I knew how it ended, to the point where I brought it with me into my previously scheduled workout class. Imagine if "A Good Girls Guide to Murder" and "The Summer I Turned Pretty" had a baby... that would be this book. The Redmond's and Covington's get together every summer at Clearwater Ridge, and this summer is looking to be the best one yet with Paige and Dylan finally getting together, until Dylan's sister and Paige's Best Friend, Audrey goes missing.

The story really picks up a year later, when the families decide to get together, even though Audrey is still missing. This next summer, Paige and Dylan band together, in-spite of being broken up, to try to uncover clues from Audrey's disappearance in order to try to piece together what really happened. Does it have anything to do with another girls disappearance?

The overall writing of the book was so well done and made it easy to get invested. There are so many suspects at play, all with big motives, that it really never lacked any suspense. I especially love a good thriller that never takes itself too seriously & this was exactly that.

A well-paced, well-written thriller great for YA audiences.

Premise - the summer after the summer her best friend, Audrey, went missing in their upscale summer town (think the Hamptons, Cape Cod), Paige teams up with her ex-summer fling, Dylan, who’s also Audrey’s brother, to find Audrey. They investigate the earlier disappearance of a townie, Madison, but soon find their own lives in danger.

I liked Paige’s quirk of speaking like an old person, acquired through her afterschool job at a retirement home, as it made the dialogue amusing. The story kept moving at a rapid clip and while I tend to avoid YA this was a lot of fun. The characters behaved more or less believably (minus the psychopaths, but they’re psychopaths) and the romance wasn’t overstated.
