Love this! I can see myself gifting this to friends and family or pulling it out to use when we have a girls night. I always love learning more about astrology.
I am a beginner when it comes to astrology and this book provided me with a lot of great information, and explanations for things (like planets, houses, and birth charts) that I didn’t fully understand before.
Beautiful cover and eye catching illustrations throughout. Would recommend.
This was such a great book. I learned so much and found it super easy to follow and understand. I've tried reading other books on astrology but they usually go too deep too fast or stay very surface level. This was not the case here and found the perfect balance!
Well, not quite a workbook, it is a great resource for learning more about astrology and your birth chart. If you’re just starting out, this is a great read as it’s full of information and resources that will help you along the way.
I really appreciated how this book starts off explaining the history of astrology and removes some of the misconceptions and misunderstandings that have plagued astrology within the main stream. The book itself is easy to use to guide you through understanding your birth chart. Where I wish it had a little more information was in understanding how to read the actual birth chart. Because I had to go to another source in order to get the birth chart the book lacks a connection between what I'm looking at vs what the author thinks I'm looking at. And if you are in any way misinterpreting/misreading something in the chart there is no way to correct that.
First things first, the images and design in this book are STUNNING!!! I really appreciated how beautiful this book was, along with the content inside of course! I would consider myself intermediate when it comes to astrology but I was able to learn a lot from this book, especially in the second half going through each house and the included exercises. I feel like I would recommend this to friends who were interested in my knowledge of the stars and how I use astrology in my life, but also to friends in my astrological community who want to step up their game a little bit and maybe learn a few new things! I am definitely getting my hands on a physical copy to have on hand for reference as well, this is the kind of work book that I would love to go back to from time to time when I feel lost or disconnected!
What a great workbook for novice and intermediate astrologers! I’ve been studying astrology for a few years and yet I was pleasantly surprised at how much information I was able to pick up while working through the book. Jessie Eccles starts out by covering astrology and birth chart basics in Part 1 and I found her writing to be accessible and engaging. The key takeaways included after each chapter are helpful for reinforcing the topics discussed. Part 2 offers a deep dive into each of the 12 houses of a birth chart. Each house chapter covers the same 5 exercises allowing for familiarity and repetition. While many books promise to help readers learn astrology, this one actually delivers with an ideal structure and thoughtful exercises. This workbook would make an excellent addition to a public library collection or a great gift for a newbie astrology student.
Final Verdict: This workbook is easy to read and understand; beginner and intermediate astrology students would appreciate the content.
Thank you to Callisto Publishing for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
If you’re looking for an in-depth workbook to use alongside reading your astrology chart, than this is the book for you! Inside, the basics of astrology will be explained before you get to the information on different aspects of astrology as well as what you will find listed on a birth chart. It helps take away the confusion one may have had after looking at their birth chart and trying to figure out what it means!
Once you get to the workbook section, you are in for a treat. I really like how well this book explains astrology before you get to the workbook section. It’s also an excellent workbook that not only helps you figure out what your birth chart means, but also gets readers to interact with their birth charts. I think that this is going to help so many people understand a lot more than if they were to just read a few things on what their chart means. I think this is such a good resource!
A Fantastic Guide for Astrology Beginners!
This astrology workbook is the perfect starting point for anyone curious about the stars and what they say about us. It takes you step by step through the basics, from understanding planets and zodiac signs to decoding the twelve houses, all in a way that’s easy to follow and incredibly informative. The guided exercises are a great feature, allowing you to dive deep into your own birth chart and uncover key insights about your personality, strengths, and challenges.
What sets this book apart is how it goes beyond just understanding your horoscope. It shows you how to use your chart to make thoughtful decisions and set intentions for the future, whether that’s in your career, relationships, or personal growth. If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about astrology or gain a better understanding of yourself, this book is an excellent, empowering tool to get you started. Highly recommend
This is an excellent resource for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of astrology in a clear, structured way. The book breaks down complex topics, making it perfect for both beginners and those with some knowledge of astrology. The exercises are helpful, allowing you to actively engage with the material and apply what you've learned to your own charts. This is really a valuable tool for anyone interested in exploring astrology beyond the basics.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing an advanced copy of this book!
you never stop learning and this is a good way to learn more about astrology or start learning. Plenty of exercises and information
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine
Why did I start this book? It is common to come across astrology in magazines or even novels and TV shows. And there are terms like house, etc. used. What does that mean now?
The author has answered everything in the book. Her book is a very clear and well constructed guide for beginners. It is so enticing that I started looking up my information.
The book met my expectations.
Thank you NetGalley, the publisher and the author for this ARC! I am a sucker for workbooks and this is great for anyone wanting to explore their birth chart and astrology.
While this book is loaded with great info for someone new to astrology, it’s not a “step-by-step workbook” as the title implies.
Thank you Callisto Publishing for granting me an ARC!
This is a great introduction to birth chart reading and all that entails. There are plenty of resources given by the author for those readers who are interested in obtaining a birth chart but aren’t sure where to start. As someone who has engaged with astrology for decades, I felt that overall this was a wonderful updated addition to add to any metaphysical shelf. My only piece of frustration came from the phrasing in certain exercises. For example, Exercise 4, ‘’My ______ is in the blank house _____”. This could be confusing for people who are new to astrology and are not familiar with the idea that your first house ruler could have multiple influences. Honestly, that is just a personal hang-up. Fantastic piece and very visually appealing!
The Step-by-Step Astrology Workbook is a fantastic resource for anyone interested in learning about astrology, whether you're a total beginner or looking to deepen your understanding. Jessie Eccles breaks down birth charts, zodiac signs, and planetary houses in a simple, easy-to-follow way, with plenty of fun exercises and prompts to guide you through your own chart.
The interactive format makes this book feel like a personal journey of self-discovery, perfect for exploring how the stars influence different aspects of your life. If you're just starting with astrology, this is an excellent place to begin!
This workbook is great for anyone who wants to explore more of the world of astrology whether they are just beginning or have been more experience. It's easy to follow format makes astrology easier to understand although the workbook is probably best used as a physical book rather than on a mobile device.
The book is very nicely made, however I have to admit that I expected it to be more of a workbook to fill out yourself, instead of being entirely textbased. That doesn't make it any less interesting, I definitely learned quite a few things, it just wasn't what I had hoped for.
I really enjoyed the way this book described each facet of a birth chart although I wish it had gone more in depth. I also felt like the workbook portion and its questions were a bit lackluster and felt like I was completing a homework assignment rather than actually sparking inspiration. I feel like information about transits would’ve been helpful as well, but for absolute beginners I think the descriptions were a good entry point into the world of astrology.
