Unfortunately for me this is the first book i have DNF i always try and finish a book regardless so that i can leave a valid review on a finished book however, the story line was very predictable, it felt like i was reading fifty shades of grey all over again, I did however love Lilly and her relationship with Cici and how Lilly started to come out of her shell. But because of the predictability i found that i was too often putting the book down and distracting myself with other things. It didn't have me hooked and i found my attention span withered.
Fifty shades of grey but in a book. They are so similar that I couldn't finish reading. This book didn't give me anything special to make me want to continue. it was so predictable and I didn't care for the main characters. If you never watched 50 shades of grey then you would probably enjoy it but I was getting a lot of Deja vu.
Upon struggling to reach the 63% read mark, I have decided that it was time to officially label this book as DNF (Did Not Finish)
I want to enjoy this book and appreciate the book for what it is however Pursuit of Innocence is extremely similar to one specific book that I have read before. If I hadn't have read that once specific book or have watched that one specific movie about that specific book, perhaps I would have enjoyed this more and could finish it.
Overall, it lacks something to make it stand out more, its missing some pizzazz to make it unique. The characters...well I can honestly say that I really don't care for them much. Infact, I can't decide which main character I dislike the most. Without giving too many spoilers, there is a time and place for some dominant spice in your life but too much (and in public) is pushing it.
That stops and makes me think. I do have some sort of emotion over the characters and this book. I cared enough to at least form some sort of opinion and perhaps that was all the writer wanted.
I mean no disrespect to the author. I understand that it's a very challenging and brave thing to do to write a book and hope they continue writing more!
It’s giving fifty shades of grey however, if you ordered it from wish. The beginning had me gripped, and the story line had so much potential but then it became a flop. I wanted to love it but I couldn’t, it then felt rushed and over the top. I enjoyed the characters but the book in general didn’t give what it was supposed to give.
I was a bit apprehensive about this book, but I was pleasantly surprised with this story.
Sebastian is a playboy billionaire who always gets what he wants. He also has very particular needs in the bedroom.
Lily is a near college graduate working at a small marketing firm with a crush on her best friends brother. She also happens to be a virgin.
Lily & Sebastian have a chance encounter at a club and then again at her small marketing firm. He makes it his mission to try to get her into bed. But something more develops between them. And then of course, her crush now seems to now show interest.
The spice is spicing in this one; I appreciated how it was approached with her virginity element. I also enjoyed the way Lily started to come out of her shell.
If I had to describe this book in 3 emojis it’d be:
🌶️🥵🙌
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶️🌶️🌶️.5/5
Lily: Almost College Graduate. Working at a small marketing firm she hates with a boss who is a perv. Her best friend is rich and helps her afford her rent. Jackson is her high school crush and best friends brother.
Sebastian: man whore billionaire boss who is merging companies and possible switching from the small marketing firm Lily works at to their in house one. He’s obsessed with Lily & intent on getting in her pants.

This book had me in a chokehold! Obsessed and loved it! Super steamy with a lot of sexual tension in the beginning! Very well written, flowed nicely & very engaging story!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
A
I loved the passion that both is in this book with the characters but also just the passion in the writing, it's a good romance novel with good development with both the characters and their relationships outside of each other and in.
I fell in love with Sebastian’s playboy dominant roll. This is a classy way to write a Dom roll. I love reading this book. After reading this book you will find your mind subconsciously wondering back to the pages of this book. This is a book that should be on everyone’s TBR.

Tropes: Virgin, billionaire, he falls first, stalker/kidnapper, best friend’s brother, love triangle,
I’ve been toying about this review for a bit now as I feel like I’m sitting on a fence just see-sawing back in forth on how I feel about this book. And honestly, the only thing that keeps on coming to mind is that this book is what I would expect to receive if I ordered Fifty Shades of Grey off of Wish.
Naive virgin, stumbles into a drop dead stranger in a club, who JUST SO HAPPENS to be a billionaire, jerk of a manwhore who arrives at her dreadful work place with a gross perv of a boss a few days later. She is also busy finishing off her super important marketing degree, and can do no wrong at all, whilst living with her super rich best friend who just happens to have a swanky old apartment and loves to go out clubbing.
Does any of this sound familiar yet?
Wait…there’s more.
She has a school friend who happens to be so painfully in love with her too. A stalker who is just too obsessed for words with her.
There were so many times where I rolled my eyes (I have a solid headache now) because SO MANY of the scenes feel like they were stripped straight out of EL James’ books.
I mean he takes her on a yacht for a date for crying out loud.
All that was missing was a helicopter ride and heaven forbid if that came up whilst reading this it would have been a DNF for me.
So often I found myself shouting at the FMC because of her sheer stupidity. How , in this current day and age, could anyone be so stupid and naive? It just doesn’t make sense.
And the MMC is just so incredibly predictable in the standard format for any billionaire, where money means that he can be a downright a-hole no matter what. No man, this isn’t right.
This book was just a whole pile of no for me.
