I really enjoyed this book! For me it was the perfect pace and kept me interested the whole time! Loved alllllll the characters. Thanks Netgalley and to the publisher.
My thanks to NetGalley for making an eARC of this book available to me.
Riley and Nick are back, along with all the usual supporting characters, giving us another fun read. If you like your romances on the hilarious side, this book is definitely for you. The mystery will keep you guessing right up to the end. Laughter abounds.
I love the silliness. Fun book to read. Quick and fun read. Definitely recommend this book. I read it I one day
Riley Throne and the whole gang is as always fun to read. I read this series for the humor and the outrageous good times the octogenarians get up to. Obviously the romance from Nick and Riley is a plus.
The next book in the Riley Thorn series. Riley and her private investigator bf Nick are still trying to solve murders. Riley gets abducted a stranger, moves into their new fix-upper, octogenarians next door don't understand boundaries...
The series is still LOL funny. The characters are terrific. Love the romance and the fun. . Terrific characters and great plot. A really fun read.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
This is the third book in this cozy mystery series. I love how downright hilarious these books are. They are a mix of funny moments and the mystery. The best combination! I love the storyline of these books and highly recommend this cozy little series. I’m excited for the next one in July!
Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the arc of this book.
This book was so funny, definitely a great series and highly recommend. Such a quick read for me and will always read a Lucy Score book!! So good!!
Not a standalone
As a big fan of Lucy Score, having read over 10 of her romance novels, I was eager to dive into “The Blast from the Past.” This third instalment in her cozy-comedy mystery series follows the shenanigans of Riley Thorne and her boyfriend and private investigator, Nick Santiago, as well as a slew of questionable side characters, with promises of an entertaining and humorous story.
However, it quickly became clear that this book isn’t meant to be read as a standalone. Both plot and relationships (romantic and otherwise) rely heavily on the previous books in the series. Therefore, the reading experience was somewhat confusing. Moreover (or perhaps because of it), the narrative often felt downright silly instead of funny, and I consequently struggled to finish it.
Rating: 2,5⭐️
In hindsight, I regret not realizing the interconnected nature of the series before diving into this ARC. However, readers who’ve read and loved the previous books will probably enjoy this instalment as well.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an advanced copy.
This installment had me hooked and laughing from start to finish! This was a mystery that was teased in the first book and cliffhangerish at the end of the second and I’m still screaming! There are so many little details that have me dusting off my magnifying glass and tin foil hat. I really liked the vulnerability displayed by Riley and Weber as well as laughing about the whole plot. This series is the gift that keeps on giving and that I don’t want to end!!!
LS displays her storytelling talent with this third installment of the Riley Thorn series and catch the new cover in retailers on May 14.
Thank you to @scorelucy, @read_bloom, and @netgalley for an eARC X
Riley Thorn and the Blast from the Past was so good! This third book in the series keeps the charm, humor, and intrigue flowing as we follow Riley Thorn and her endlessly entertaining adventures. The storyline is filled with the perfect blend of cozy home improvement, a perplexing cold case, and the usual dose of quirky characters. When Riley's psychic abilities go haywire and danger looms, the excitement and suspense rise to new heights. The unexpected twists, a severed finger, and a blast from the past create a whirlwind of events that will keep you turning pages!

Another fantastic book in the Riley Thorn series. The Blast from the Past was such a hilarious follow up to the end in the second book, the Corpse in the Closet. Like my other reviews we still have our favorite characters from the first two books plus some new characters. One of which is revealed after a shocking discovery. Nick and Riley have my heart 🫶 I cannot wait until they get married in one of the books in the series. After reading the first three books in this series, I highly recommend it for the mystery romance readers. It has a decent amount of spice (🌶️🌶️ or 🌶️🌶️🌶️), hilarious banter, comedic relief, and fun characters.
