I will ready anything from Lucy Score I discovered her last year and have been working on her back log. A fun paranormal romance with some mystery to it. I’ve been enjoying this whole series
Another great installment to this super fun series. What a bingeable series it is. It is so addictive and so much fun to read. It was such a fast read. Really loved it.
I tired to give this series a try and it just wasn’t for me. I love Lucy Scores writing but I just think nothing has come close to her Knockemout series.
I just love this series. Riley and her neighbors along with her ‘gifted’ family are a hoot. However her boyfriend really is not very likeable the way he has little trust in Riley, I wish he treated her better. The mystery of what happened to Beth was well done. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
eek i fear im not quite enjoying this series. it doesn’t feel like lucy score whatsoever and i am in complete shock that this is the same who wrote the knockemout series for example. they are cozy 2000s vibes, but that’s about all that saves them

The Blast from the Past is the third book in the paranormal mystery romance series by Lucy Score.
This third book picks right up after the first one. Riley Thorne and her Private Investigator boyfriend Nick Santiago have moved in together into the mansion next doer to her quirky senior roommates.
Nick has just found out that Beth his former best friend’s sister is alive after believing her dead for the last 5 years.
Nick dedicates all of his time to looking for Beth leaving Riley to sort out all of the new house/moving in tasks and manage the Private Eye business.
When Beth shows up seemingly unharmed and like she never left, Riley and Nick know she’s not telling them everything. When Riley attempts to use her psychic powers to get inside Beth’s head, they seem to fry and no longer give her access.
As Riley, Nick work on figuring out Beth’s secrets, the rest of the gang attempt to help, keep the business open and all sorts of other nonsense that tend to follow this group around!
This was another fun instalment of the series and I really enjoyed it. Riley and Nick’s chemistry and banter are off the charts and the cast of quirky characters keeps the book light and fun and a quick read! Another 4 star read for me!
Disclaimer: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Blast From the Past by Lucy Score is another hit! Riley and Nick are likable and funny. This is a light easy mystery perfect for the beach!
Nick is determined to find his friend Kellen Weber’s sister who mysteriously disappeared. It’s the one case he hasn’t been able to solve. And then there’s Riley whose psychic powers seem to be on the fritz on top of trying to fix the new house she and Nick just moved into. With glitter bombs warnings and social media hate comments Riley and Nick are on the case to get to the bottom of things once again!
4.5 stars
Another fun entry in the Riley Thorn series! I'm so glad that one more was written after this, which was supposed to be the final installment, because there's so much more I want to see, even if we inched towards closure here with the return of Weber's missing sister. I loved the enemies to lovers side story with Weber and Jasmine, and hope they finally come together as a couple. Will Riley's horrific middle name ever be revealed? I will screech if the series ends without me finding this out. And Nick Santiago being a Halloween Scorpio? Nothing has surprised me less. As far as plot goes, this one was a bit silly, even for this over the top series, but the characters have now become so familiar to me that I don't mind. However, I can see the antics getting stale and it becoming a case of quit while you're ahead, the advice so many of my previous beloved series did not heed, so if the fourth book is the final, as long as there is closure, I am ok with that too.
This book continues the inquiry into the disappearance of Nick's ex-partner Kellan, whom we learnt about in the first book. After six years after Beth being missing, Nick remains obsessed and feels bad about not doing enough for her while he was a police officer.
I've become quite fond of these characters. Despite the numerous external and internal obstacles that Riley and Nick's relationship faces this time around, they still have a great time together. Especially when their neighbors, relatives, and friends become involved. To be honest, I think my favorite aspects of the book are the supporting characters. They made the narrative so much funnier and more entertaining!
I absolutely adore Lucy Score, and she is an auto buy author for this reader. However, this entire series was one I simply couldn't get into. While many will really enjoy it, I personally just couldn't dive in. Cold cases, and crime investigations are just typically not my thing. 3 stars, because I adore the author, and this series will not be keeping me from reading all other works by her!
I thought I could get into these books from reading the first one, which I enjoyed. But the more I read, I just can’t do it. Way too much language and silly, awkward parts in the book. I won’t be continuing with the series
Loved this continuation of the Riley Thorn series. It has Lucy Scores trademark wit and page-turning fun. I couldn't put it down!
After binge reading the Riley Thorn books, Riley, Nick and the entire crew of family, friends and elderly feel like old friends. The Blast from the Past is one of my favorites of the series!
Nick is preoccupied, letting a cold case consume his every waking moment, every thought, while letting Mrs. Penny take over as his partner in the company. He's leaving his to-do list in his home with Riley untouched. Without warning though, his cold case finds him via Riley. Soon everyone in their lives intersects with the case in some way, shape or form. Finally though, we, as readers who have been waiting for answers to Nick's past, get rewarded with answers.
I never want to have to say goodbye, or read 'the end' to Riley Thorn and Nick Santiago.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for an eArch in exchange for my honest review.
I looooved loved this book Lucy score has done it again she’s is an amazing author that writes a cute little mystery with quirkiness along with it. Some of the scenes I couldn’t stop laughing
Can’t go wrong with a Lucy Score novel! 😊 This one was no exception! I laughed, I swooned… I felt all the things! Her characters are always so well-developed and continue to grow throughout the plot of the novel. Such a joy to read!
I just finished reading The Blast from the Past, the third book in the Riley Thorn mystery series, and I have to say, it's another hit! As a big fan of the first two books, I was excited to dive into this one and it did not disappoint.
The story follows Riley, a quirky psychic private investigator, and her boyfriend Nick as they navigate a new chapter in their lives - moving into a fixer-upper home. But of course, with Riley, nothing is ever simple. Her geriatric former roommates/new neighbors keep showing up unannounced, adding some hilarious hijinks to the mix.
While Nick is busy working on a missing person's case, Riley and the rest of the team take on some side jobs. But when Riley starts to suspect she's being followed, things take an unexpected turn. The mystery and suspense kept me turning the pages, eager to uncover the truth.
What I love most about these books is the incredible wit and humor. The banter between the characters, especially Riley and her dog Muffin, had me laughing out loud on multiple occasions. Lucy Score has a way of creating such vibrant, memorable personalities that feel like they could be your own friends.
Riley's character development is also really well done. She's so relatable in her insecurities and struggles with self-acceptance. It was great to see her continue on her journey of self-love in this book. And Nick's perspective is always entertaining - the guy is a top-notch private investigator but clueless when it comes to emotions!
The writing is clever, fast-paced, and engaging throughout. I found myself completely immersed in the world of Riley Thorn. While I do recommend reading the books in order to fully appreciate the character relationships, there's enough backstory that you could pick up this book as a standalone.
Overall, if you're looking for a fun, humorous mystery with a dash of romance, I highly recommend checking out The Blast from the Past. It's a must-read for fans of the series and a great introduction for new readers. I can't wait to see what Riley and the gang get up to next!
This series has been so fun! Equal parts contemporary fiction and murder mystery plots, with a dual pov, paranormal/psychic main character, and a romantic subplot…this book has everything. The pacing was great, the story was funny, the side characters were a blast. I think the first two books were slightly better, this one feels like a classic third act, BUT it still gives what it needs to give. I can’t wait to read the final installment!
If you like “Dial A For Aunties” and Jesse Q. Sutanto, then you’re in for a treat with this series.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for sending me this ARC.
All the things from the first two books that I love continue in this one. Such fun side characters, balance of mystery and romance, and plenty of laughs. I do tend to struggle with series like these feeling like the story gets dragged out when following the same main characters and started to feel that here.
Fantastic author! Great pacing and great development for the characters. I was heavily invested in the plot and descriptive settings.
