This was classic MQ humor and banter. Overall I enjoyed this. There were a few slow spots and filler. I bet in audio this is amazing, with all the funny texts and convos. I really loved Maggie and Brody. Poor Brody though, he was struggling during the trip. The snake scene had me DYING LAUGHING!
If you want to laugh out loud and take a trip to Bora-Bora, read this book!
-enemies to lovers
-brother’s best friends
-only one bed
-fake dating
-hilarious romcom
Ps. It got spicy around 65% and stayed pretty spicy!

There were things I loved about this book and things I didn't care for as much.
I REALLY liked Brody. A lot. I felt bad for him every time he was caught doing something embarrassing and I definitely felt some secondhand cringe. He was a great guy though who was trying to help himself out and, unfortunately, kept messing himself up instead. I thought he was so sweet to Maggie even when they were "enemies" and despite the so-called "betrayal" I never hated him.

Maggie was on and off for me. I felt like once she and Brody got together, she was a lot better, but she was the worst before and after. I legitimately don't understand how she can not realize that telling everyone how Brody and Gary celebrate baseball wouldn't be embarrassing. I'll be honest, that part left a bad taste in my mouth. She came across as an idiot in that moment and that felt like it wasn't true to her character. I also thought she WAY overreacted at the "betrayal" and created an issue where she could have just had a conversation with Brody to resolve it all. She also seems like she likes to play games and test people, particularly when she was mad at Brody for not calling when she SPECIFICALLY said she doesn't want to hear from ever again. I don't know. She's definitely NOT my favorite MQ FMC.

The best people in this book were easily the Hopper "kids" and Brody. They brought all the heart and soul this book needed. Especially Hudson and Hardy. I'm really looking forward to their books! Despite Maggie, it really was an entertaining and interesting read. I've read similar books like this in the past, but this one definitely had me chuckling and cringing equally. One thing I will say though, is I'm a little done with the crossovers and references to other books. It was cute and fun for a while, but now I feel like it's a little overdone and I'm ready for some new world building.

Overall, I really did like this book. It's a fun, entertaining beach read that you'll get through pretty quickly.

Where do I begin?

The links between all of Meghan’s books, series and characters makes me so happy. She is truly creating a MQ universe and I am here for all of it!

With a setting like Bora-Bora and characters like Brody, Maggie and Gary, you knew it was going to be such a disaster you had to just laugh.

I loved the story set up, the aforementioned disasters, and everything in between!

I absolutely loved this book! It was so funny, sexy and sweet! Meghan Quinn delivers everytime. I’m such a sucker for brother’s best friend.
Spicy level 4/5

Another high laughs romantic comedy from Meghan Quinn! There were moments where she pushed a scene or two too far into zany, but overall this forced proximity, brother’s best friend was great!

Another feel good perfect romance by MQ. She is the equivalent of watching reruns of Friends for me and I absolutely loved this one! Brody & Maggie were perfect together. Brody was not intentionally hilarious (hello snakes & spear fishing & moonshine). But was also demanding(in the best bedroom ways) and so damn HOT. I loved this story and all the smaller plots that made me kept turning pages and curious how all this would pan out. Also, booking a flight to bora bora as we speak to find a man in a speedo.

I got an ALC of this story and let me tell you how amazingly perfect these narrators were. Jason Clarke can play 5 different men in one scene and make you know who’s who somehow. And Erin Mallon is always one of my absolute favorite FMC narrators - funny, spicy, and so good!

Meghan Quinn is such an exceptional writer. She never fails to write the best rom coms that truly make me laugh out loud but also make my heart stop. She writes vulnerability and love so well and it makes me keep coming back for more over and over again.

This romance had everything a classic Meghan Quinn book has: the best banter, insane chemistry between the main characters, amazing spice, laugh out loud humor, and the sweetest ending. Meghan Quinn is one of my auto-buy authors and I will continue to read every single book she comes out with because I’m constantly amazed and obsessed with her books.

Meghan Quinn is my favorite rom com writer. Every book I read has me cracking up and dying of second hand embarrassment, but also swooning.

I also love all the cross-overs in Meghan’s books. This one had such a multitude of worlds-colliding.

This was a fun read because my husband and I had our honeymoon in Bora Bora so it brought me back there a bit for some reminiscing. Now it really makes me want to go back!

What happens when you like the book, you have all the various feels ~ and lemme tell you, this book will give you all the feels ~ you laugh, swoon, want to reach out and Gibbs smack people and love seeing all the connections to other series and characters of the authors but you find that you liked the secondary characters more than the main ones….you find yourself in a conundrum because you “should” fall in love with the MC’s, it’s kind of why one reads romance, but sometimes you just don’t and that’s where I am.

This isn’t to say that I didn’t like Brody and Maggie, I did, I thought they were both good people with their own quirks that were both endearing and annoying in equal measure who really needed to stop having conversations with themselves in their own heads…which is probably why I’m only in “like” with them and not “love” because between those convos and their poking at each other (not in the fun, smexy way) that did my head in. I understood the “why” behind their animosity, but even after they figured things out, it took its toll on me, so I was happy for them…but (And this is a full on “It’s not you, it’s me” thing)

Though I didn’t fall in love with the MC’s I did really enjoy the time they spent with the Hopper “kids” and I do hope that we get more of them all in the future and maybe even a looksie at the how the couple who got married in the book met and their own journey.

wrong. I loved this one! Best friend’s brother, enemies to lovers and fake dating?! Yes, please! It was witty, entertaining, heartwarming and fun!!! The banter between Maggie and Brody was top notch and the tension was high!!! There is wedding shenanigans that had me laughing out loud, as well as some pretty tender moments that had me tearing up. I especially loved all the references to MQ’s other series. I love how she keeps you connected to past books and leaves you wanting more! If you are looking for a feel good book with snark, swoon and spice, look no further. Meghan never disappoints!!!

Meghan never fails to deliver a story with entertaining characters and hilarious banter.

I enjoy a good enemies-to-lovers romance, especially when forced-proximity is added into the mix. Meghan delivers these two tropes well with the added humor between Maggie and Brody.

Brody may come across as cocky jerk, but he definitely has some insecurities that make a him a bit more endearing than I anticipated.

Maggie definitely is the more outgoing of the two and has no problems going after what she wants, no matter the costs.

These two are not only enemies but they are quite opposite in a lot of ways and that adds to some interesting dialogue between them.

Overall, this is a great summer read. It is light and entertaining and readers will be flipping pages quickly.

Meghan Quinn is the ultimate rom com writer. This book was hilarious from start to finish!! The meet cute was unreal and the plot was so addicting. I loved the tension and banter. The MMC was so confident, I absolutely devoured this read. I cannot wait for the second book. 4.5/5 stars!

First of all, I LOVE Meghan Quinn’s books!! They’re always such a good mix of funny, spicy & super intriguing!! If I want to read a book that will get me out of a reading slump, I’ll read a MQ book !!

With that said,

The first 60% of the book unfortunately didn’t really grab my attention. It took me almost 10 days just to read this part.

During the first 60% there were so many situations where I felt really sorry/embarrassed for the mmc 😅🥲 the poor guy got no rest during his vacation. And some of these situations made me cringe a little 🙊

Then the last 40% hit & I was hooked !! Finished that last part in less than a day! The spice was 🔥🔥🔥 the chemistry between Maggie & Brody was beautiful & I think they’re so much better together!

Alone, they got on my nerves a couple times 😅

Overall I did enjoy it and now I’m probably gonna go read Hattie & Hayes story because I was so intrigued by them & a rockstar romance/age gap/enemies to lovers sounds amazing !!

Not my favorite Meghan Quinn book. I didn’t care for the main characters. I really tried to like Maggie and Brody, but never connected to them. The story overall, I give 3 stars.

I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Meghan Quinn has seriously outdone herself AGAIN with this outrageously funny story! What to expect? Forced proximity, enemy to lovers, brothers best friend, and some steamy scenes. The narration was the perfect choice for the characters. Highly recommend!

Bridesmaid for Hire is Brody "Freaking" McFadden (Maggie's brothers' best friend) and Maggie Mitchell’s story.

This was a slow burn read for me. Although Meghan Quinn does know how to bring on those audible chuckles and the laughter does start pretty early on. Hang in there it starts to sizzle about ½ through.

I really felt sorry for Brody, if things could go wrong for him, they did. He got a real beat down and his poor ego. Thankfully even though Maggie and Brody were not friends I think the goings on brought them together.

I liked their story. I would say that Maggie was the stronger, more personable person. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Meghan Quinn.

Bridesmaid for Hire is another fun, laugh-out-loud rom-com from Meghan Quinn! From reading another book set in the Almond Bay world, we knew Brody and Maggie were together, so it was fun going back and seeing how they got together.

And what a trip it was.

Both Maggie and Brody end up at the same resort in Bora Bora, both for different reasons...and at first glance, it appears they dislike one another. But one thing leads to another and they end up pretending to be in a relationship so Maggie can get into the wedding of the resort owner's daughter, who happens to be Brody's boss. They end up getting invited to all the wedding festivities, and Maggie ends up being asked to be a bridesmaid, as one of hers could not attend. From there, things go downhill for Brody (seriously, this guy could not catch a break), while Maggie was just loved and adored by everyone. During this time, the initially fake relationship turns very real...but just as they finally get to that point, things go very, very wrong for Brody, which causes him to accidentally hurt Maggie - which he said he would never do. And what he does to make up for that, just goes to show that Brody truly was a good guy.

I listened to this on in audio Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon were a delight to listen to as Brody and Maggie. Hearing Jason narrate some of those laugh-out-loud moments (i.e. the "snake" scene)...he just nailed those scenes. And then Erin during the family games scenes...I was cracking up so hard. It was truly enjoyable to listen to these two talented narrators bring these characters to life.

And all the new side characters that we were introduced to in this one...especially Hardy and Hudson...I hope this isn't the last we've seen of them!
