What happens when you become a Superhero's first save? You become their Love Interest.

Jenna Ray doesn't want a relationship, but after being saved from a fire by the newest superhero, she is forced to accept that this is now how the public sees her. She hates the HPA and learns fairly quickly that they may have had something to do with her mother's disappearance a decade earlier.

Wanting to defy the HPA, Jenna embarks on a fake relationship with Blaze so she can get her mother back but what chaos will ensue?

This is a fun book. I know it's already published, but I'm trying to read the books on my shelf before I request new ones.

I would love a sequel to this book and perhaps a prequel.

Oh, I really enjoyed this!

It’s a little bit dystopian, it’s a little bit feminista and it’s a whole lot of fun.

While this is definitely a YA book, and sometimes potentially leaning on younger YA than the age of the characters, the story moves at a good pace and there are a lot of laugh-out-loud moments, mixed with warm-hearted ones. The FMC kicks butt which turns the ‘usual’ love interest/superhero on its head.

On top of all that, I think it also subtly (and sometimes not-so-subtly) prompts the reader to give thought to the perils of inattentive obedience, the power authority can exert and why you should forge your own path and the importance of having your own thoughts and taking the time to discover what is important.

I would definitely read any sequel.

I loved the how unique this story was - a twist on the whole superhero's Love Interest, and Jenna Ray is easily one of my favourite MC's! She gives as good as she gets and she's not your typical helpless Mary sue. If you're a fan of Marvel or DC then you'll love this one, trust me, stop reading this review and get your hands on a copy.

I will say though, I wish the book took place over a longer period of time. Like I get the joke is the superhero and the love interest basically have the rest of their lives planned out after the first "meet cute", but this events of this book happened in literally *POTENTIAL SPOILER* two weeks???

I can't wait to see where this story goes next - SEQUEL! SEQUEL! SEQUEL!

This book was an interesting take on superheroes, and the role of love interests in their stories. It was a fun read that kept me hooked, and I'm eager to read the sequel.
