Another fantastic book by Emma Robinson, She Has My Child was such a heart warming book with believable characters, I read this book within a day as I just couldn't put it down
Really emotional read. Lots of twists and lots of tears! Really enjoyed this book. Read it in a day, couldn’t put it down.
She Has My Child by Emma Robinson is a multi-layered domestic drama about the relationship between two sisters, and the lengths that one will go to for the love of family. This is an author who can always be relied upon to pack an emotional punch, and her latest deals an absolute wallop.
Megan is desperate for a child of her own and when it doesn't happen for her and husband Mark, it feels like a cruel betrayal. So when her older sister Sophie steps in to offer herself as a surrogate, it seems that Megan's dreams of a baby might finally be within reach. The sisters have a lot of healing to do with regard to their own relationship, and surely this gift that Sophie is offering will make things right with the younger sister she abandoned so long ago. But nothing is without consequence, and Sophie and Megan will be tested in entirely new ways that will have each questioning her own choices, and redefining the meaning of family.
This is an engaging, thought-provoking read that you are sure to devour in a single gulp. Emma Robinson knows her craft, and always produces such beautiful narratives that get to the very heart of human emotion and empathy. 4.5 stars
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.
Megan and Mark can’t have children, so when Megan’s sister, Sophia, offers to be surrogate for them, Megan jumps at the chance.
Mark is more cautious as Sophia left her sister when she was 12, just left home without saying a word at the age of 19.
After twenty years away, Sophia comes home as their mum is dying. Sophia feels she owes Megan this one thing, but can Megan trust her?
My goodness, this was such an emotional story! Amazing storytelling from the author, she manages to write about a difficult subject with sensitivity and care.
I wasn’t sure about reading a story that bases part of it on the lockdown period from Covid, but my fears were allayed, the author covered it well.
This is the first time I have read one of the author’s books and I will definitely be downloading the rest of her books, I loved her style of writing.
My thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for a copy in exchange for my honest review.
Read it in a day with barely any breaks, but the breaks that I took just meant that I was thinking about it and wanted to get back to it! With such believable characters because they are far from perfect, a really gripping read.
This book had me feeling a range of emotions but it was mainly heart-breaking and I had a feeling uncertainly and untrusting throughout.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookoutre for this Advanced Reader’s Copy of She Has My Child by Emma Robinson due to be published March 26, 2024.
Megan and Mark are desperate to have a baby but cannot conceive. When her sister, Sophia, whom she’s been estranged from since she was twelve, offers to be their surrogate Megan jumps at the chance. Was it a good idea or not with Sophia and Megan in separate countries?
This was my first book by Emma Robinson. She Has My Child tells the story from two different points of view – Megan and Sophia – as the pregnancy progresses and the child is eventually born.
This was an up and down emotional roller coaster – from elated to gut-wrenching to joyous and heartbreaking – be sure to have a box of tissues ready for this one! In the end, all that matters is that whoever is in your family makes up your family.
I will definitely look up more books by Emma Robinson!

I was given the chance to read this book prior to the release date.
I really enjoyed it. Two sisters have not seen each other in twenty years. They are brought back together when their mother is dying. They both are hiding secrets from each other. Megan the youngest is unable to have children and she is desperate for a child. Sophia, the older sister, feels guilty for leaving Megan all those years ago. She offers to be a surrogate for Megan and her husband. Mark. Will Sophia be able to hand over the baby after giving birth? There are a lot of factors and heartaches throughout this book. It keeps you turning the pages to found out what happens.
Drop everything and settle down with the latest heartwarming novel from Emma Robinson. I've loved every book she has written. This book is no exception, I read it flat through in one afternoon which feels a bit of a disservice after all the work that goes into writing a bestseller but it was so good I couldn't put it down.
She writes about relatable issues that many women go through and if you're lucky or unlucky enough to have these issues then at times you may feel as though your heart will break as you devour the chapters. But Emma writes empathetically and with compassion.
I'm grateful to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this advanced copy, my opinions are my own and not expected
There should be a warning given when you start reading one of Emma Robinson’s books to have the tissues close by , this is a beautifully written book about the relationship between Megan and her sister Sophie and how one unselfish act changes life for both of them and brings them back to being close again. Definitely like her other books, this is a five star read.
Usually I am not a fan of books which hit my emotional button but I absolutely love this author. She has my child was another emotional rollercoaster which had me gripped throughout it is a heart wrenching read which I could not put down. It was fanatically written with realistic characters. Highly recommended. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my advanced copy.
When the next book on my list is one written by this author, I know I need to do some preparations first. This means that I will put my phone on silent, lock the door and keep a box of tissues handy. I so know I will be in for a wonderful, but very emotional story and I will shed a few bucket loads of tears before the final sentence has been read.
And yes, she had done it again. No, tears don't always mean sadness or only sadness at least. Lots of emotions can bring tears to my eyes and although I went through a whole selection of emotions, the tears were never far away. Happy and sad tears alternated while my warm feelings gushed through me or my heart broke a little.
This is a story about two sisters loosing each other and the way back to each other is a long and winding one, but where there is a will there is a way even though it's not always paved with roses..
I loved the way they each found their way in life whilst climbing a few mountains to achieve that. 5 stars
Thank you
Emma Robinson writes such realistic novels and I’ve loved them all. This is another great read, it’s heart wrenching, and tense, full of turns and often the unexpected. I genuinely thought I had it worked out, I was so wrong!!
This talented author has written a page turner. The ending was shocking...surprising...red herrings and secrets. The realistic characters kept the story moving, but there was no real connections between characters. They seemed to be going through life doing what was expected. The past haunted those in the present. That being said, this is a quick mystery, and trying to discern what will happen is enjoyable. Thanks Netgalley.
