Jen has an almost perfect life, married to Rob, a successful estate agent, 3 beautiful children and living in a penthouse apartment. But when she mistakenly sees a text on Robs phone she accuses him of an affair, of course he denies it but this is where the story becomes more intense.
A real easy fast paced page turner. Just when you think you know where the story is going but of course in pure Ruth Heald style nothing is as it seems as the tension mounts.
A great read and I'm grateful to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this advanced copy, my opinions are my own and I'm under no obligation to leave them
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC. I loved every page of this book! This book is full of thrill and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole read. Ruth Heald took me on a roller coaster of emotions. I felt nothing but love and admiration for Jen (the main character) and pure hate for Rob. This book is a journey! From love, friendships, betrayal and an unexpected twist... I could not recommend a psychological thriller more! Visit the link to my instagram account where I post all of my reviews!

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of My Husband’s Affair. I LOVED THIS BOOK, from the cover to the very last page, it was an AWESOME read!!!!! So TWISTED, MIND BOGGLING AND CONSUMING! Rob was such a sleazy character, Natasha and that part of the plot was unnecessary but I’m glad it went the way it did and in a weird way I actually felt bad for Amy. Jen was the Greatest heroine, she just exuded such strength in every part of the book. A FANTASTIC NOVEL!! Thank you Ruth Heald for another great one.
This is a fast paced domestic thriller, and a really good story. Jen and Rob are a successful couple, living in a penthouse apartment in London with their three children. Ruth Heald is a good writer. This is a great beach or weekend read and is recommended!

The penthouse has a beautiful view and there is a glass panel terrace so they can enjoy the view. While Edie was prepare dinner and the children were entertaining themselves but baby Rudy went exploring and ended up on the terrace where she an opening in the glass panel just big enough for her to crawl through. When Jen found her on the edge she able to get her back in away from the edge but has been terribly frightening. When Rob came he told him that the builders needed to come out immediately fix it. He agreed but other things needed repaired due to inferior construction. Rob soon found he and the company was going bankrupted with all the repairs that needed to done.
Jen is crushed when she finds Rob’s burner phone and then opens it to find messages between Rob and another woman with plans to run away together- stating he will deal with his wife. . Jen’s world has crashing should she divorce Rob- if so, she would be penniless.
Rob doesn’t know Jen’s suspicions but does have an idea on how to save their finances.
I read a lot of thriller and expect big reveal - of course; Ms. Heald comes through with some surprises.
Story was better than 3 star good but just wasn’t 4-star great – it did keep me curious.
However, we know from the blurb on the cover
”We promised forever… but only one of us will leave this marriage alive.”
The revenge in this Domestic Thriller just wasn’t all that clever - nothing earth shattering.
I do like Ruth Heald and will read another!
I read " The Nanny" back in September 2022 and became a Ruth Heald fan. I gave that story 5 stars (I give very few 5 star ratings! )
It was a nice surprise read for me! I went into that story expecting a typical Nanny accused of taking the baby she was caring for but it was a lot more!
Want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for this early eGalley.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for April 10, 2024.
I thought I knew the ending about halfway through. I was completely wrong!! I felt like I knew the characters personally. Completely loved this book.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
My Husband's Affair tells the story of a seemingly perfect marriage with infidelity under the surface. Jen Peterson is a dutiful wife to her husband Rob. She is a stay at home mom who takes care of their home and 3 children while Rob works as a real estate agent in London. While they've drifted apart a little over the past few years with the general chaos of life, Jen never could have imagined that her husband was keeping secrets, including an affair.
Some thrillers are a painfully slow lead up to a lot of action unwinding over the course of a chapter or two. Not this one! I liked the pace of the story and how it unfolded throughout. The story itself was very intricate which I also enjoyed. I liked that there were things at play other than just the affair too, kept things interesting. And lastly, the variety and complexity to the main characters was great and I liked that each of them (for the most part) got a chapter from their point of view.
Side note, Ruth Heald also did a great job showcasing the exhaustion of being a stay at home mom. I feel like so many people, fictional characters included, glorify and glamorize what it's like to be a stay at home mom. But that is a full time job in and of itself.
This may be the first novel I've read by Ruth Heald but it definitely won't be the last!
My Husband's Affair by Ruth Heald is a completely addictive thriller from an author who very quickly established herself as a must read for me. Ms Heald, you have done it again.
Jen has a comfortable life with her husband Rob and their three beautiful children. But Rob's philandering has never really been a secret, and Jen's closest friends tell her she needs to leave him, though she continues to turn a blind eye to his many lies.
This was a thoroughly gripping read, due largely in part to a multi-dimensional cast of characters. You will be rooting for a satisfactory comeuppance from beginning to end. 4.5 stars
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.
This was a brilliantly written thriller which was fast paced so kept me hooked from start to finish. The chapters were short which helped build the suspense up with many twists and turn I could not guess how it was going to end.
When Jen finds a secret phone and a message on it saying I will deal with my wife Jen soon realises that her husband Rob is planning on leaving her for another Women. Jen doesn’t want to lose the life her and her children have so what lengths will she go to keep that life but Rob may be one step ahead of her.
This was such a gripping read which I highly recommend full of surprises which you won’t see coming. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my advanced copy.
“My Husband’s Affair” is a fast-paced and entertaining thriller that kept me on my toes throughout the entirety of the book. It follows Jen and her husband Rob who appear to have a picture perfect marriage from the outside looking in, but just like their crumbling penthouse, their marriage is anything but picturesque. While Jen has quit her job to take care of the house and raise the children, Rob works long hours and is hardly ever home. Jen believes that he is just working hard to keep up their seemingly lavish lifestyle, however, she soon discovers he is having an affair, and it’s with someone she knows!
When I chose to read this book, I did so based solely on the cover and someone else’s recommendation. I didn’t really read the synopsis and I’m so glad I didn’t! It was a complete surprise to me finding out that the other woman was someone that Jen knew. I had been hooked earlier on but this piece of information completely solidified my investment. The story and writing really sucked me in and had me wondering what was going to happen to Jen and all the other characters. I loved reading it from the other perspectives as well to see where everyone’s head was at. While I was definitely waiting for another twist at the end of the book, I was satisfied with the ending and would certainly recommend to anyone else who likes a good psychological thriller. I will undoubtedly look for more books by this author.
This was a fast-paced domestic thriller that I couldn’t put down. The characters were well developed and they felt real. Although I could see some of the twists coming, it was well written enough to keep me interested.
A brilliantly written psychological thriller that keeps you guessing until the very last page. Full of twists and turns and the twist at the end that I didn't see coming.
This book definitely keeps the reader guessing! I thought I had the plot figured out at least more than once, only to find it going in a totally different direction. I found some parts to be a bit unbelievable, but entertaining nonetheless. This is fiction after all!
My Husband's Affair was a middle of the road book for me. It seems I have an unpopular opinion regarding this book. Jen is married to a womanizer and although her husband keeps his affairs discreet, she gets the feeling something is off. Their deal was for him to work, and for her to leave her career, cook homemade healthy meals 3 times a day, and keep their home spotless. I guess that's fine if she goes along with it.
Her two friends, Natasha and Amy, keep telling her to leave her husband. However, she sticks with him, believing his nonsense. Maybe one day she will get proof of an affair. This was a very slow burn. Although I was able to guess the ending, it was still interesting. This was an easy to read book that I was able to finish quickly. The ending was very lackluster for me and I was disappointed with that.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. I greatly appreciate it. I do recommend this book as many people liked it.

I was given the opportunity to receive this ARC from Netgalley, my very first ARC 🥰
Release date: April 10, 2024 🌟
Between the short chapters and the twists starting early, this book pulled me in quickly. An affair that ruins more than just a family, and lies that add up quickly. By the end of the story, I didn't trust anybody 😅
The ending did fall a little flat for me, though. I was waiting for one final twist to send me reeling, but it never came.

I just LOVED this book. I couldn’t stop reading it, happy ‘perfect’ family the main character Jen had the husband the three kids she took them to all their after school activities but there was something going on between her husband and she found out he was cheating obviously. Not just with one woman he was sleeping with so many women. But the recent women he was with obviously happened to be a girl who changed her name to get close to Jen so she can be like her to make Rob (Jen’s husband) leave his wife for her. It was crazy all the twists and turns and I couldn’t stop reading I just wish that Amy towards the end got to see her daughter even though she was sent away, that is another story on its own. I wish there was a part two to this. Crazy ending.
Thank you to NetGalley for this book for review!
Unputdownable! This book had me gripped from the end of the very first chapter until the very last chapter. I love when an author knows how to finish a book and this one had a very nice ending. The characters were believable and I really empathized with Jen and her situation. When I thought I had it all figured out, I of course didn't. The beginning quarter of the book was a split timeline that lead to a head way earlier than I expected, but the tension and thrill didn't decline from there, it just got more intense and mind boggling. Loved this read.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
This book grabbed my attention because I honestly love suspense books with infidelity and plot twists. I was rooting for Jen throughout the whole book. It was a different story for Rob who you will despise, but that means the author is doing her job!. It took a while for the pace to pick up. There were times where I thought I had it figured out but there was lots of suprises! I liked Amy and Natasha as the side characters - I thought they both had complex personalities, and it was interesting to see their friendships evolve over the course of the book.
This is the first book I've read from this author, and I can't wait to read more from this author and it won’t be my last!
This one kept me reading more and more! Very good first read by this author, would definitely suggest this one to others. Couldn't put it down, finished in 2 days. Many twist and turns!
I love Ruth Heald and once again she does not disappoint. I always love reading about cheating husband's especially when they get caught. You never know who you are married to. This book has many twists and turns.
