Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this audio.

This book was well written and a mystery read. This is a domestic suspense/thriller, with a neighborhood of secrets!this book was pretty good. I liked the twist and turns and the plot twist was great. I enjoyed all of the characters.

The Secrets Next Door was an audio arc from Netgalley, and tells the story of twin sisters (and neighbors) Talia and Tabitha, a new neighbor Anna, a small town, jealousy, good marriages (bad marriages?), sleuthing and enough twists to keep you listening.

My 3 star rating is based on the medium - the audio. While the story was slow to reveal itself, as a listener, far too much effort was required by me to pay attention. The narrator read the book. That's it. I did not feel immersed in it, and the characters were not different enough on audio to tell me immediately who was speaking. With three female main characters, and only one narrator, it would have been helpful for the characters to be given unique voices. Then add on top of all that the choice of the author to name the twins Talia and Tabitha (along with my nearly 60 year old brain), and it was just hard to pay attention. As a listener, I do not want to have to stop to think (which twin is this????) every time one of them was speaking.

I found the early part of the book to be both gripping.......and plodding. It took forever to get to the very interesting end. Honestly, the end saved the book and earned it an additional star.

These twins are kind of annoying. I know I said I wasn't going to read or listen to twin books again but here I am.
These girls are enmeshed. They love next door to each other, work together, and get into one another's space all the time. I hope my girls are a little tiny bit more separate.
The story wouldn't be the same if the girls weren't this close.
I love the narration!

I listened to the audiobook version and it was a super fun popcorn thriller! Some reviews have mentioned clunky prose (mostly to do with choppy punctuation and repetition) but that doesn’t translate to audio at all, so I recommend listening to the audiobook version. It’s like a fun radio drama!

Premise: twin sisters live side by side in suburbia. One is rich and one poor, one confident and one the supporting character. When a mysterious writer moves into the neighborhood, and seems to be stalking one of them, they have to figure out what she’s up to before it’s too late.
