I really enjoyed this book! The characters were very complex and the setting was gorgeous. I loved the little details, to me they really make the story. I would definitely recommend!

This feels like a script to an upcoming Hallmark Christmas movie (although MMC is divorced). Pleasant, predictable, slow-paced chaste story of a widow with twin school aged boys coming out of grief and getting into the holiday spirit by leading a bunch of cookie theme events for the town. Along the way, she gets to know the school principal outside of her boys’ office visits. The divorced dad is also coming out of a funk after his marriage and is learning to let go and have fun. Oh, he’s also a good baker. Story takes an enjoyable, predictable path.

Do you need a book that feels like a Hallmark movie to snuggle up with during the holiday season? If you answered yes, this book by Eliza Evans is for you. Grab the cocoa and a cookie while you indulge in this book about a mom of twins that needs all the help she can get when the fundraiser that raises money for the only club her children like is cancelled. She decides to take it upon herself to resurrect all of the Cookie Craziness even when another mom is thwarting her at every turn. Insert one handsome, single, principal that's also on the committee and the heat gets turned up as they work together.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this title in advance.

I needed something uplifting and fun and this book satisfied the need. Cute hallmarky fun story. Single parents trope mixed with a school theme. I loved the characters. It seems like it feel together very easy but that makes it an uplifting simple read.

The Christmas Cookie Wars by Eliza Evans is a holiday-themed clean rom-com. Melody, widower and mother to two twin boys in fifth grade, is barely hanging on. She’s overwhelmed with trying to be the best mother she can be and ends up taking on the role of leading the cookie fundraising committee at her sons’ school to try to save not only their STEM club but also the Christmas traditions their family has had for years. This leads to Melody having more frequent contact with the school’s handsome principal Jonathan Baxter and their eventual romance.

This was a cute read! I liked the characters and how they were older than ones in typical rom-com books. There were both funny and sweet moments throughout the book. This is a fast-paced easy read and fans of holiday rom-coms will enjoy this.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for granting me an eBook ARC in return for my honest review. This book is expected to be published on October 22, 2024.

What a beautiful, fun, story about a mom trying to save Christmas for her 9 year old twin boys. There was humor, romance, and lots of cookies. I really enjoyed it.
