A great book for kids to reinforce kindness with their alphabet. Easy to understand sentences and beautiful color pictures emphasize the message.
I love the message and values this book shares. As a parent, I can certainly relate to and hope that my children develop these traits of caring for others as well as knowing their own worth! I appreciated the diversity shown across the book. I also noticed children who used wheelchairs and glasses. A suggestion I would offer is to also include a child (or children) with hearing aides. Other assistive devices could be considered as well!
Alphabet by Heart is a fun and positive book! This book is different in the way it teaches the alphabet - instead of using the cliche "B is for Banana", it goes like "B is for Believe in yourself" and so forth. I think that this is a creative by using positive phrases and sweet reminders.
This book is filled with colourful illustrations and depicts a diverse range people with different skin colours, ethnicities, abilities, ages.
This book was approved by my little one!
This book has a very clean outline and writing of the alphabet to help teach your little ones. The cadence and rhythm of the read really helps keep their attention! I think they got a little inventive with the word for the letter “x” and I think a better choice for “y” could have been made, but that’s just a personal opinion and I still don’t have that much of an issue with it. Again, I really liked the layout!
We're working on kind words with my 4 and 5 year old. This gave so many great examples of what that looks like. It also gave great talking points for their day and how they should react and treat others even when they're having a bad day. Wonderful book for littles!
Such a valuable and meaningful book that will help kids learn unique words for each letter of the alphabet, all while being centered around kindness and compassion. It's so important to teach kids the value of being nice to yourself and others, and this book does a great job of accomplishing that. At the same time, it teaches kids the letters of the alphabet, which is the foundation of all words. The last thing I really liked about this book was how diverse the illustrations were, and the way each of them correlated perfectly with the writing on each page. Bravo, illustrator!
My one note is about page 3. I would edit the wording of "Will you make things worse or make things better?" is a bit weird for a book made for young kids. It almost feels like this puts unnecessary pressure upon children, and it felt a little odd to read as a reviewer. I would take this line out or make it more positive to maintain the core tone of the book.
Overall, though: bravo!
I love everything about this book! The illustrations and the focus on the words for each letter are commendable. The entire book is so wholesome and positive. Would totally recommend the same for the age group.
Thank you author/ artist and publisher for the advance reading copy.
Alphabet by Heart is a picture alphabet book about good deeds, words, thoughts and values starting with the respective letters of the alphabet.
Inclusive and relatable situations are coupled with verses that talk about a good behaviour.
This marks the first time that I have read an alphabet book which promotes good values as such.
I am looking forward to sharing this with my child and recommending it to my friends who are parents, teachers, carers or psychologists.

Alphabet by Heart is a sweet and meaningful read for young children.
It focuses on kindness, joy and gratitude, using simple rhymes. While it includes some words which may be new to children, and not common in alphabet books, it provides concrete and accessible examples in simple verse.
The illustrations are bright and detailed, and capture the emotional experience of all of the characters well. I would highly recommend as a fun and reflective read for children to share with their grownups.
Thank you 4U2B Books & Media and NetGalley for a copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.
This is a really sweet book. It's highlights some common and less common (for a toddler) words along the alphabet. The rhymes are cute, the illustrations are great. The emphasis on kindness is a nice extra touch.
I had to knock off .25 because using "excel" for x is a stretch but I have a random fixation with the fact that alphabet books often phone it in when it comes to the letter x.
I definitely recommend this book. It will make a great baby shower or birthday gift for the kiddos in your life.
4.75 out of 5, rounded up to 5 stars!
This is a really sweet book! I've read other alphabet kindness books and they often feel unrelatable or hard to understand for young children. I really liked how this book included relatable examples that even young children will be able to grasp. "Alphabet by Heart" is definitely a book I would like to add to our home library.
