Very cute rhyming book about Turkey’s birthday on the farm. The Illustrations are lovely. Very cute children’s book
A picture book any child will enjoy and resonate with. Turkey, just like most kids, hopes for an amazing birthday and tries to see if his farmer family is planning something for him.
This is a cute, fun book for young kids. My 6 year old and 3 year old both enjoyed it. They didn’t get most of the puns (I’m not sure most of the age group who reads this will) but it’s funny for the parent reading it. A fun book to give a child on their birthday.
So many puns and funny things that Turkey does to see if the farm family is going to throw him a birthday party with pizza, which is all he's wishing for. He dresses up in discuses to see if he can figure it out and gets into trouble. Of course the book ends with a pizza party with the farm family and all of his barn yard friends..
Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the copy of the ARC.
I recieved an ARC of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I love turkey! He's just so pure and sweet. One of the things that I really liked about this book in particular is that the family knows him by name and talks directly to him. His farm friends and family know him well enough to give him exactly what he wanted most on his birthday. Such a great story about serving those we love in ways that suit them perfectly.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book for free in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.
This was such a cute story! The illustrations were nice and colorful and some of the pictures had me laughing.
The illustration style is cute and fun for children to see.
Easy and quick story to read, good for children
Turkey is worried that no one is going to celebrate his birthday! Children love Turkey and all of his disguises.
Turkey gets a big surprise and his friends show how much they care.
What a cute, fun story that was so silly it had my kids laughing so hard. Great story! Thanks for the earc!
Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the eARC! Love this turkey series and all his silly adventures. Farm animal and birthday lovers will enjoy this book and the adventure of Turkey’s birthday. The illustrations are bright and colorful yet not overwhelming. A very cute story with a cute surprise at the end!
Such a cute story that was quick and easy to read. The illustration style was very detailed and fun for kids to look at.
This book was cute with lots of fun play on words that were fun as the adult to read. I got tongue tied reading it but my kid liked it a lot.
I was not a fan of the dialogue. I get some of them were play on words but when reading it to a baby/toddler I don’t want them to get confused. I didn’t understand page 6? The dialogue seemed off to me there, so I wouldn’t want my kid to get confused either. (The “one extra cupcake wont be noticed” - i wish that was written differently..). Pictures are fun and colorful - although the people were a little on the creepy side to me.
I really enjoy the Turkey books by Wendi Silvano, and this one was no exception. I thought both the story and illustrations were very cute. I liked that the animals in the story wanted to help Turkey out with his disguises. I also enjoyed all of the play on words, although I think a lot of my younger students may not understand them.
I will definitely be purchasing this book for my library because my students love all of the Turkey books.
Read this one with my niece (4 years old) and she quickly found it fun yet boring. Cute story with farm animals! Turkey was a fun character ! Many thanks for the NetGalley ARC!
This is an OK story about a turkey who is celebrating his birthday. He hopes for a pizza party but doesn't see anyone planning it for him. Of course, his friends have a nice celebration planned and he ends up having a great day.
Turkey's a little entitled for me (plan your own party if youre going to be that picky). Also I could do without the puns.
This is the first I've read in the series; I'm assuming the punniness is a theme.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
Thought this would be fitting to read to my 5 year-old seeing as how his birthday was a couple of days ago. This book was fun and the artwork was very cute, my kid definitely enjoyed it.
This story was cute - definitely for older kids (5+). It can be a little hard to follow along at times with the writing style. I love the artwork - it’s illustrated beautifully! It’s a good, silly story. My nephew (7) really enjoyed it but my toddler (2) lost interest quick. A good read, just not my fav! Thank you, NetGalley for allowing me to have early access to read this book!
Another cute Turkey book! My daughter loves these, she likes to see what disguises Turkey will come up with and it always makes her laugh and say "oh Turkey!"
Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.
This kids' book was just okay..the story of a turkey's birthday and his expectations and hopes and tricks to find out if they're all going to be met. It has many puns that would fly over the heads of children but parents might enjoy. Illustrations are well done.
