Silly Boobies is a super cute story about red-footed boobies and blue-footed boobies, and a star-bellied sneetches like divide between the two. I LOVED the illustrations, all of the animals had so much character!

I think the author did a great job with a fun take on a familiar plot line. I loved the information about real-life boobies at the end of the story. Thanks to NetGalley, Ame Dyckman, and Two Lions for the chance to read and review. My opinions are my own!

This children’s book is about 2 birds who are different but found love. It’s a very simple straight to the point book, which is perfect for it’s audience. I thought it was educational as well as humorous. I like the last page with a short spell about boobies. If you dislike one another because of irrelevant characteristics such as different colored flippers than that is silly!

Hillarious!!! Amazing!!! Sweet!! adorable!!!
I have so many adjectives I would like to use to describe this fabulous book, and it deserves it.
It has everything in it: a Romeo and Juliet type of love story, goofy characters, a great ending, interesting facts and a great learning experience.
We laughed through this book and re-read it over and over.
LOVED the illustrations, so lively, fun and vibrant!

I think this book was illustrated very well and I loved to facts at the end of the book. I agree with some other reviews it could have been a few pages longer or had more oomph. Overall, I think this is a lovely, fun, quick read for the kids. I will absolutely be purchasing and including this book in the K-5 library I work in!

Sweet, but short | I expected about five more pages, and I think as it is, it wouldn't become a regular read for Kiddos, because it wouldn't be memorable enough for them to ask for it. But it is sweet and the artwork is strong, cheerful and bright, with enough to look at on the page for developing brains, but not too much.

It was a cute book highlighting how we shouldn’t be prejudiced and more accepting of one another. I liked this message hence the rating. I do feel like this could have been executed better for younger minds to grasp easier.

I liked the facts at the back about Boobie birds.

I read children’s books when I want to get back to my normal reading phase.

Okay, firstly, many thanks to #netgalley for giving me a chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a cute book for children. They will get to know a species through a story. There are two types of boobies in this book. One is red-footed. Another is blue-footed. And they fall in love.

I really appreciate the attempt; it could have been way better, but sadly, it lacks proper presentation.

At the end of the book, there is an introduction about this species, which is nice.

Read stories to your children. Give them books. Make them read. These kinds of books can be a good start.

An adorable story about not judging a book by its cover and love despite differences.
Silly Boobies is a humerous and wholesome story perfect for the whole family

I liked the illustrations. But the execution could have been much better than what we got. The idea was interesting though. The crab was funny.

In the footsteps of Romeo and Juliet, Sneetches, and The Butter Battle Book, The Silly Boobies have opposing "sides" finding common ground. A relevant message especially highlighted by the feet colors. I was drawn to this book because of an X post by the author stating that a group of boobies is called a congress. Seems relevant....
This book does not have to be political. In fact, with kids, I hope it's not! These are the books I hope make our kids better at politicking than we are.

This book is so stinkin' cute, AND has an amazing message!

I read this cute story about a blue footed boobie falling in love with a red footed boobie to my three kiddos, and they loved it! Not only is the story great, but the illustrations are fantastic. What fun!

Thank you, NetGalley, and Two Lions for an advanced copy of Silly Boobies in exchange for an honest review. We loved it and I've already recommended it to several friends with kids.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Boobies are silly birds. The red boobies think they are better than the blue boobies and the blue boobies think they are better than the red boobies, but what happens when they decide that they like one another. Cute story.

The blue-footed boobies nested on the ground on their rock, the red-footed ones, on shrubs and small trees on theirs. Would it even be possible for the boobies to get along, to meet in the middle on the little rock inhabited by the wise hermit crab?

By accident, a nerdy red booby bumps into an erudite blue booby while each has their nose in a book. They make eye contact…look into each other's eyes. They would gain a lot of love if they both give a little…when I start flying your way and you start flying mine.

This delightfully funny picture book will create laugh out loud moments as the expressive hermit crab encourages the blue and red congresses of boobies to mingle. The full saturation colorful artwork is rendered in an uncomplicated simple style. Fun facts include booby courtship rituals such as dancing (raising and showing off their feet) and exchanging sticks. True love can prevail! Highly recommended for the little ones.

Thank you Two Lions and Net Galley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This is such a cute and funny book, with a great message! It's also very hilarious for adults. And I love the pictures. It reads similarly to a Mo Williams book. 4 stars!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I absolutely loved this. Acceptance and love... :)

The title made us giggle before we read it as it is a joke between my hubs and I pertaining to the title as I call him boopbee, and he calls me boobee, and as a couple we are the boobies LOL

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This little story about booby birds was perfect! Great for kids, and entertaining and engaging story with excitement and dancing with just the right amount of humour for the parents to enjoy it too! The artwork was simple but beautiful. Great book! Must buy for sure!

A children’s picture book which is a love story about two birds, very loosely based on Romeo and Juliet.

After the first couple of pages, I thought it was going to be a bit too silly, but it soon made me smile. It’s cute and funny and the illustrations are lovely. There’s a good moral to the story: that we should all get along and not be prejudiced against those who are different from us. I liked the educational bit at the end with information about the different boobies, how they got their name and explaining the mating ritual dance. We re-read it and enjoyed it more each time!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this eARC.

“Silly Boobies: A Love Story” is by Ame Dyckman and illustrated by Christopher Weyant. This is a children’s book with adorable color illustrations. On it’s surface, this is a book about one of my favorite birds - the Boobies (both red and blue). A red footed boobie and a blue footed boobie meet and decide to marry - getting flack from both families for this oddness. Amusingly, when they have a baby - both sets of boobies want to claim their baby as theirs (and wisely, the parents say “It’s ours!”). Yes, one can dig deeper - and I’m sure a lot of adult readers will (and maybe some of the slightly older kids too). If I had grandchildren, I’d’ve gotten this book for the illustrations alone … and it’s about Boobies, such an under represented bird in my very biased opinion. Now, if you look at it logically (boo! hiss!), red footed and blue footed boobies do not mate for a variety of reasons (although how amazingly cool would a purple footed boobie be?) - but that’s really my logical brain getting in the way of a good cute story. I do wish that my other favorite boobie (masked!) had made an appearance - but maybe that’ll be the next book. I would’ve preferred that a Sally Go Lightly crab had been there instead of a hermit crab - but this may not have taken place on the Galapagos Islands, so I’ll give Ms. Dyckman a pass there. Put politics aside - and “wokeness” aside if possible … it’s a cute short children’s book with incredible illustrations and a cute story.

I requested this book specifically because Blue Footed Boobies have always been my favorite birds. Probably in part because of their name. This book is ridiculous. Ridiculously silly and adorable. The love story was sweet. My kid got a kick out of it. My husband chuckles everytime he reads it out loud, like a child. I love it. I love the colors and illustrations. I loved the story. I loved the message. I thought the story was cute and I enjoyed that it was also informative about Red and Blue footed Boobies. I honestly didn’t know there were so many different types of Boobies.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publish for an advanced reader copy of this book! I will be purchasing a copy of this sweet book for our library.
