This is a women’s fiction/romance telling multiple sisters stories. It is a Christmas story but can be read anytime. The Christmas part of the story is subdued. It is a simple slow moving cozy family story.

If it makes any difference- I listened to this book on the cusp of spring and I still liked it. I feel like that’s a lot to ask of a Christmas book because I typically only read them seasonally. I loved this great big family and thought the pair of romances were cute and even liked that they ended in a similar manner.

🌀Synopsis
Usula moved back home to pursue her dreams of writing. She’s having a hard time getting the story flow going and she’s sure she’s going to fail. Once she arrives in town the story really starts writing itself. Well, with the help of the new neighbor who happens to be very handsome. The two start spending time together under the guise of getting the story of his ancestors. It doesn’t take long before the two go beyond the story and realize there are true feelings there.
In the other corner is Endora, who is determined to show her many sisters that no man is worth it. It doesn’t work for her and she ends up falling head over heels for him.

The book is centered around tradition and love. It tells the story of seven sisters who grew up together in a large household. During holidays, they return home and readers can feel their strong bond just like any other family. Despite facing challenges, they support and care for each other. Aunt Bernie, one of the characters in the book, adds a lot of humor to the story. Overall, it's a delightful and heartwarming read that I enjoyed listening to.

The seven Simmons sisters have grown up, and it is time for them to find love. In this book, we get Ursula's and Luna's stories. Ursula gets a chance with her high school crush who is also a next door neighbor to the Paradise. Luna is dating Shane, a very nice guy. The problem is that her twin sister, Endora, is completely set on breaking them up. Add in some conniving women, some unruly animals, and Aunt Bernie, this story is lots of fun. Narrator Abigail Reno did a great job with the humor and emotion in this one.

I always enjoy Christmas stories. This was a nice enjoyable read. Not great but still nice.
The narrator Abigale Reno did a great job performing the characters – including helping me keep it clear which sister was speaking.

I have only read one [author: Carolyn Brown] novel at that time I read her profile ~which made me like her.
~Hi! I'm twenty five years old and movie star gorgeous. The camera added thirty plus years and a few wrinkles.
Okay honestly, I am the mother of three children with a supportive husband, Charles, who is willing to eat fast food and help with the laundry while I finish one more chapter! Life is good and I am blessed! ~

Carolyn Brown can be hit or miss for me. I've really enjoyed some of her books, and I've really disliked a couple. This one came close to loving, but falls in the liked category.

There are seven Simmons sisters. They grew up in a ghost town in a former brothel. Oldest, Ursula, us a writer and decides to come live back at home when she struggles with writer's block. There, she finds her high school crush is back living next door. She is instantly attracted to him and he is no longer the painfully shy teenager she once knew.

I started off really liking this. Then, as soon as Ursula and Remy really become a couple, the book shifts focus to her younger sister, Luna. While Ursula and Remy were still part of the story, they weren't the focus. It just caused both story lines (Ursula and Remy and Luna and Shane) to lack depth. I am sad because I feel like there was a lost opportunity.

Abigail Reno narrates the audiobook and does a good job.

I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was absolutely perfect. I loved the sisters, the family, the relationships and just everything. I can not get over the story and I'd love to have more of all of their stories.

I love Carolyn Brown and her stories never fail to entertain me. This one was no exception. I loved everything about it - the setting, the character's names, how it all turned out and I can't wait for a sequel. It even made me want to read a bit of historical fiction...which never happens!

This is a book about 7 sister who were brought up in a huge house that had been a brothel many years before. The sisters have a wonderful role model for a happily married couple in their mother and step-father. They have a quirky aunt who has set up her living space in a mobile home in the back yard. While the sisters aren't young, they seem to be fairly inexperienced in matters of the heart. There are other characters in the book who are on the prowl for good looking men and everyone seems to be on the alert for women who want to steal boyfriends. This is a fun story, with little excitement, but I can see the series developing into stories that catch the reader up with the goings on in the sister's lives.

I listened to the audio version. The narrator was great.
