Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a free arc in exchange for an honest review.
Crave is an incredibly interesting comic about an app that suddenly appears on everyone’s phone at a school. The crave app promises that it can help students satisfy any of their cravings, from sexual desires, to violent ones. However, this leads to chaos as people feel emboldened to do stupid reckless things just because an app told them to.
I do think this has some interesting commentary about how people are often eager to follow orders without thinking for themselves even if they know it could be dangerous.
With that being said, I couldn’t find any references as to whether this takes place in high school or college. I’m choosing to believe it’s college because some of the students live in dorms (though I know some private high schools have dorms as well); however, with the amount of sexual content in this book I would have preferred more explicit confirmation that the characters are adults.

This is a fun erotic graphic comic series about the dangers of social media and the power it can have over people. This is quite a scary situation of an app going out of control as it controls people’s emotions and love life. It’s a fun series of comics.

3.5 stars.
This felt like a Black Mirror episode!
The whole premise of the Crave app learning from users, and developing in a BAD way as a result - taking on a mind of its own, and connecting to more and more of the surrounding technology in the building - seemed very timely considering current controversies surrounding AI. The whole thing really does feel quite sinister.
The story is very fast paced, and I do wish there'd been room to delve into some aspects of it in more detail. But for what it is (a graphic novel made up of a 6-issue comic book mini series), the author does a decent job of telling a complete story.
The art style and colour palette are pleasing to look at, too.
Read this in one sitting, and would definitely read more by this author :)
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC.

This was a very quick, spicy read. I have not read anything like this graphic novel before but it was a very interesting concept.
Each volume is very fast paced and there is no filler. Each one picks up right where the last one left off and keeps the story flowing.
I enjoyed our main characters and loved that there were so many different perspectives of the events that were going on.
Thank you NetGalley, Maria Llovet and Image Comics for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

This graphic novel was a really fun read! The positioning of it being like Black Mirror felt really accurate for me. This is outside my usual genre, but I really enjoyed it. The concept of the app Crave allowed for some themes of the potential perils that advanced technology can have on our desires for human connection. This theme was especially poignant during the lecture scene where they are discussing social media before the reader witnesses the devastating impact of Crave. At times I thought this theme could have been explored a bit more thoroughly throughout the rest of the story, but in all it all I was glad to see some strong messaging taking place. I also really enjoyed the art, and how the plot would develop through visual cues instead of relying solely on dialogue. Thank you for this quick, spicy read!

Hottttt. How I was unaware that erotic horror was a whole ass genre is insane to me. I loved the story and the art so much that I went on an immediate deep dive of the author as soon as I turned the last page. The story stayed serious amidst the sex and nudity and I imagine that that can be hard to accomplish. Fan for life here and can’t wait for more!

I've read this like 4 times since I got the review copy, it's so good but also kind of scarry with the amount I use social media

The artwork was excellent and the storyline had a good premise--it felt like a black mirror episode. Very intriguing erotic thriller in graphic novel format!

This story was realistic even though it was a work of fiction... I loved the art style and the spiciness was on par! I liked how it all came together at the end with the ambiguous ending !!

There is an interesting story within this graphic novel, but I think the sex was too aggressive. It was very in-your-face and felt more like it was used to distract the reader from the easily solvable problem. A bit of flash and pizzazz to cover up a simple plot. They were so much more capable that I think they should’’ve been for this to fully work. I think the story would be better in a TV show or movie than on the page like this.

This teen-and-older graphic novel takes us to a posh college somewhere, that just so happens to be even more of a raging hormone-fest than normal. For there's a new app in town, Crave, that asks you what and who you want to do the naughty with, and tells you how – or that you have no real measurable chance. But of all the wishes, intentions and desires of all the co-ed students, how is Crave knowing what pushes whose buttons – and to what extent is it interrupting reality to make things actually click?
What this boils down to is a basic show about social media – about how it could be used to find friends and be nice to people, but we all somehow seem to resort to being shitty to people, either on it or irl because of it. Or, what this boils down to is a lot of nubile teens tonguing each other, and more, and a narrative that reminds us that loyalty, reason, consent, etc should all have come before a swipe. So subtle it isn't, really, but its briskness is certainly enjoyable. It could have done more to make us sure of who is who, where one or two subplots are concerned, but the six original issues make for a decent read. Practically four NSFW stars.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC! Graphic novels aren't my usual taste, but I was so intrigued by the premise of horror and erotica that I had to pick this up. Crave's premise was fantastic, but I feel like it needed more page time to truly blossom. What's in this book is a good glimpse at an interesting plot, but I didn't feel like I had enough time to get to know the characters on any deeper level. The art was beautiful, and if you know graphic novels are a medium you like, I think this will be right up your alley!

I absolutely loved this book—it was such a sexy and unique read! The story centers around a new social media app designed to satisfy every craving, with no limits. But, as you can imagine, things take a dark turn, and a group of friends steps up to tackle the chaos the app has unleashed. It was a super fun read—I devoured it in just a couple of hours! Sometimes, you just need a quick, entertaining graphic novel to shake up your TBR pile. Plus, the illustrations? Absolutely gorgeous (and seriously sexy). Solid 4/5 from me!

This is REMARKABLE! Just putting that out there immediately.
A new app is taking the kids by storm. I say kids but they are college age. What does the app do you may ask? Well, it tells you how to get the person or thing you crave the most. Want old Rebecca in science lab? Tell the app and BAM! “Random” happenstances to them will lead you to your reward. But, watch out, not everyone/thing is compatible. Jealousy can rear its ugly head before you know it and set off a different chain of events.
I was so impressed by this! The authors/illustrators through you into the mix without a bunch of background and you learn as they do (which I absolutely adore). Bonus: there are some steamy ass sex scenes depicted. Spiiiiicy. And a lot of them.
You can read them individually now or wait for the whole series to come out in October. This is one of the best graphic novels I have ever read.
A HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND 5/5.

This was definitely interesting, I don't think I would reach for it in a Bookshop though, there seemed to be a lot going on at once but at the same time I don't feel like anything stood out- dare I say that sometimes there is such thing as "too much" smut?

5 stars! This graphic novel is the reason why I fell in love and started going to local comic books stores and pre ordering. I can't get enough of this artwork, it is truly beautiful. The beauty of each characters unique features and bright eyes. I enjoyed the entire story line fixed on this new app called Crave and everyone enters in thier desires and chances at having it satisfied. I finished this in one whole sitting! Highly recommend 👌 for mature audiences of course.

This was such a fun read! It reminds me of a Black Mirror episode. The illustrations are beautiful, I can see this developing into a series easily.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the chance to read and review this graphic novel. I was excited for the chance to review a graphic novel but this one was odd. Set on a college campus and everyone is using this new hookup app and I actually just DNFed after a 1/3 of it. Not for me.

The serialization set up decent cliff-hangers for the each subsequent section. However, the plot was horrifically predictable and the character development was not as well-defined as it could be. If you’re searching for a slightly spicy and very quick read, choose this. Illustrations are bright, clear and colorful. Character’s emotions are well-defined in the panels, but more anticipation between the crave and result could have resulted in a more enjoyable book.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for a copy!
Crave follows a group of college students as they try and understand n app and what is doing to their peers.
There were some scenes that were a bit spicy, but i didn’t think there was too much or too little in that regard. I found the story to be a king ever so slightly, ad while i did enjoy it I just wished there were more information about the characters. Everything felt like it was given to me at face value. This is this character, this is this character, this one is sad, but. Couldn’t tell the connections or anything like that. I wished each part was a little bit longer, like adding backstories or making things just a bit harder to fix.
Overall i really enjoyed it, i just wish there were more of it.
