We love trucks and this was a great read aloud with the preschoolers. So many fun adventures and the trucks were a win!
A great addition to children’s seasonal books. Fans of construction trucks and the fall season will adore the fall spirit.
This book told a great story. Two vehicles are helping set up for a beloved event when it looks like something is missing. They agree to retrieve it and this proves to be tougher than they expected it to be. Yet working together they find a way to get what is needed to make this a parade no one will forget for years to come.
I thought that this book was great and it is the perfect read for Halloween!
The book is really well illustrated, the illustrations are perfect for the story and they bring the book to life. The story itself is very well written and it has a lovey flow which makes it easy to read and follow - my daughter really enjoyed the story.
I liked the focus on teamwork and the positive messaging from the story too.
It is 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!
The rhyming stanzas seemed forced and I felt the text wasn't always clear. But the illustrations are very cute and I enjoyed the spooky Halloween theme.
Scooper and Dumper are getting ready for the Pumpkin Parade by rounding up the pumpkins from the field . . . though it's kind of spooky being out there at night.
This is a charming tale, told in rhyme, with cool, autumnal vibes. It was my first visit with these two personable vehicles, and I hope it won't be the last.
Review: I thought my nephews (but one in particular) would LOVE this book! He’s obsessed with farms & construction but especially the vehicles, and likes to be read books that interest him. But my youngest niece loves it most!😂💕 She loves reading, and books with adorable illustrations capture her interest!
This is an amazing book for fall and autumn! I love the festivities and how cute the illustrations are. The messages on team work, friendship and solving problems were all presented throughout the story in a great way!
This book is one that I feel children who love the fall season, various vehicles like Scooped and Dumper are, and reading together will love! It also would make a good read for those who are new readers, too! I love this book for kids, and it’s a lot better than I expected it to be-and it’s captivating enough to keep even the toddlers engaged and entertained!
😍 It’s a 5 Star read!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 (5/5 Stars) 🤩
Thank you to NetGalley, Lindsay Ward, and Two Lions publishers for this e-book in exchange for an honest review.
If you are looking for the perfect fall book to read with your kids this is it. It screams all things Autumn and pumpkin. The illustrations match the book perfectly and bring the book to life. Both of my kids loved this book, ages 3 & 8, and said it would be perfect to read around Halloween, or anytime if you're like us.
It was just published on 7/9/24 so it is available for you to check out now!
There is so much text per page. Too much for a young baby, and the story seems too young for older kids who could handle that much text. Overall, a 3 star read for our family.
Scooper and Dumper are helping prepare for the Pumpkin Parade and they do everything better when they work together. Cute rhyming story that will keep your child chanting along and enjoying the vibrant colorful illustrations while learning about team work. A great book to read when moving in to the fall season.
I was really excited to read this because I previously enjoyed reading the original Scooper and Dumper book. This story was adorable, about a group of vehicles working together to get pumpkins to a parade.
This book is an excellent read aloud for younger children. It has excellent rhythm and rhyme. I am picky about rhyming books, because I have a non-American accent and often have trouble with words not rhyming in my accent. I didn’t have that trouble with this book. I also appreciated the repetition of a particular phrase.
I would love to read this to my StoryTime kids in the fall! The whole story had a great flow with rhyming words and a good rhythm that will keep kids engaged. The continued phrase, “work together, can’t be beat,” was a good anchor and kids will definitely be repeating that by the end. A good reminder for teamwork and helping others.
This is a really cute rhyming book about a scooper and a dump truck who must get pumpkins to the parade. Along the way they get help from a pickup truck and tractor. This is a good book to teach little ones about working together to get things done. It is a very colorful and fun book that will keep children interested. Great book for Fall or Halloween.
"Work together, can't be beat"! I love this and the fact that it was repeated multiple times. The illustrations are wonderful and the rhymes are outstanding. It's a very clever and fun book for children.
Lindsay Ward has written many of the books my grandchildren request the most. They love the Dexter T Rexter books and I can't tell you how many times I've read "Pink is not a Color"! This was a lovely story too. I'm giving it four stars instead of five because it didn't hold my 5-year-old granddaughter's attention. She said at the end, "I'm not a truck person." So, maybe she's just the wrong audience. If you do have a young truck-lover I'd definitely recommend this though.
Talk about Fall vibes! Love it! The illustrations were very cute and colorful! Pumpkin patches are one of my favorite things so this was right up my alley. I’m sure it would be well received by both boys and girls!
Thank you to Net Galley for providing a copy of this book. I really enjoyed the fun fall story and rhyming cadence. I think our young readers will enjoy this book seasonally and year round, especially those little ones who are always asking about vehicle books!
Surprisingly fast-paced, adventurous and engaging story for younger children, and those who love vehicles.
Various vehicles feature as characters and they need to overcome some obstacles.
The illustrations are vibrant, and the characters are cute.
The story/plot itself is 4/5.
This will certainly be a favourite amongst the younger children.
Our little family absolutely loves anything about fall. Especially the pumpkins. This book was perfect. Then to add in the characters are a variety of cars and trucks made an even more perfect story for our little ones. The book's illustrations are so vibrant and colorful and really created a feeling of fall for us. In this story Scooper and Dumper have to get the pumpkins from the farm to the parade and meet some obstacles along the way. This was such a fun and exciting story for us. We really loved finding out if they can make it to the parade on time, and with the pumpkins. Your family will love this perfect fall adventure.
We received this as an ebook ARC and can’t wait to add it to our home collection in July. A new family favorite for sure.
This is an exceptionally cute story for fall! A nice number of words per page for a toddler (4) and sweet illustrations. It feels like a positive teamwork message without being heavy handed.
4 stars.
