Sisters. The Hamptons. What's not to love? Thank you Net Galley for the ARC of this sumptuous psychological thriller. One sister in search for the other that didn't appear at her birthday. This is going to be a huge beach read.

Alex goes to the Hamptons to find her missing sister Maddie, but things are not always as they seem. quick read.

I enjoyed reading an advance readers copy of this book from #Netgalley. It was a great thriller that had me questioning until the end. Great characters and story. Grab this one for the beach on July 16,2024. #Beachread #ThePerfectSister #stephaniedecarolis #BookNerd #Books #thrillerbooks #Thrillers #bookstagram #read #ReadMoreBooks #ARC #booksarelife

What can I say about this book except for things like wow, holy freaking cow, amazing, and mind blowing. This is the second of Stephanie DeCarolis' books that I have read, and I was not disappointed. My mind kept going to places the whole time I was reading thinking that I might actually have begun to start figuring this story out when, nope, another clue or twist drops into place. Jiminy Christmas, it's been a little bit since I read this book, and I am still thinking on it. The story has stayed with me all this time. I am still trying to mentally put all the pieces together where I didn't see things go before.
This is my most favorite kind of book to read. The kind that shocks you to your very toes and stays with you long after the story is done. It sucks you in and refuses to let you go. In a word, I would have to say that this book is craveable. If all the author's books continue in this vein, then they are going to have a ton of loyal readers like me for many years to come.
I related a lot to Alex. I am the eldest child and used to having to make a lot of sacrifices for the younger siblings. You never mind because it's what you do for them but sometimes, it does cause a rift to come into play like it did with her and Maddy.
Maddy comes off as the A typical younger child, a bit spoiled and wishy washy but good at the core. You just do not realize how much more depth she has as a person until almost the end of the book. The pain you feel for Alex throughout this whole story, just unbelievable. Heart breaking. Heart stopping.
And just when you think the twists and turns are at an end, bam! You get hit with another one. And that ending! Oh my freaking gosh. My jaw dropped. It literally dropped while I was reading. I could not believe what I was reading. Holy cow, I loved loved loved this book. I whole heartedly recommend it.
Thanks to Net Galley, the publishers, and to Stephanie DeCarolis for the ability to read and review this book. All opinions are my own and are completely honest.

A woman searchers for her missing sister in the "hidden" Hamptons that the rich locals do not want people to see! Is her sister still alive? Why is she living with rich socialites who seem to have plenty to hide!

The title "The Perfect Sister" grabbed my attention as I have 3 of them - and none of us are perfect! Therefore I was intrigued, and this book did not disappoint. Alex Walker (the younger sister) is certainly tenacious in the mystery disappearance of her older sister. Rightfully so! The ending made my jaw drop - definitely will be recommending this book once published in July 2024.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC version. #ThePerfectSister #NetGalley

In “The Perfect Sister,” Stephanie DeCarolis, has created the perfect summer thriller.
Meet the Blackwells a notoriously wealthy family living in the Hamptons. Of course, with the Blackwells’ wealth comes secrets and dark proclivities.
Enter, Alex, searching for her sister Maddie, who apparently was living in the Blackwells pool house before she suddenly disappeared. Now, Alex, must navigate through the lies and half truths of the Elite in order to find out what really happened to her sister.
Told from two alternating POV’s, Maddie’s past, and Alex’s present, we learn the story of Alex and Maddie, and all is not what it seems.
I liked the use of flashbacks in this read, as they added to the depth of the characters. I also enjoyed the location, the Hamptons, for this story.
The author has written an easy and entertaining thriller. I have not read this author in the past, but would look for more books in the future.
I would have rated this higher if it were not for the ending. I did not feel, personally, that the author wrapped up the whole story, and it felt rushed.
Thank You NetGalley and the Publisher for the advanced eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
This thriller is great for a fast, fun summer thriller. It is set in the Hamptons and centers around the Blackwells, a very rich family, Alex goes searching for her sister Maddie and finds out she was living in their pool house at one time and is now missing. This book will keep you guessing. It is a great book and I would definitely recommend.

I love thrillers that are set in the Hamptons. This one is told through multiple characters points of view. All of the Blackwell family seem as though they have something to hide making for an unputdownable thriller with great twist and turns. I really enjoyed the reading flow, secrets that came out and great twists at the end. I would have liked to find out more at the end about what happened to the rest of the family but other than that it was a great read that I’ll definitely recommend.

A barnburner of a book about Alex’s cross country trip to the Hamptons to search for her missing sister, Maddie.
The story is told in alternating timelines between Maddie’s past and Alex’s present. I did find myself confused at times since both sisters experienced similar settings and characters while in the Hamptons. However, that’s a minor complaint compared to how much this book kept me totally captivated.
This author has a comfortable writing style which makes for easy reading. The childhood flashbacks helped to explain not only the closeness of the sisters’ relationship, but also some of the internal angst that cropped up after their mother’s death.
If you like the mystery/thriller genre, I highly recommend this book. I wouldn’t be surprised if the story cropped up down the road in a tv series or movie.
Thank you NetGalley and Random House publishing for the chance to read and review this book.

The story is told by the different characters, a wealthy couple who adopted a brother and sister, two estranged sisters. Their lives collide in the Hamptons as Alex finds that her sister, Madison, isn’t living where she said she was or even attending college. Alex needs to find her and mend the chasm between them. Alex’s search puts her at Blackwell Manor where the wealthy couple harbor secrets, dark proclivities and emotional baggage. The lifestyle of this elite area has the locals, the tourists, the laborers and the spoiled entitled. The setting and characters were well portrayed. Alex has stumbled into a world far from her norm. For those who prefer not to read explicit scenes be warned there are some vivid descriptions. There is danger lurking everywhere as Alex finds her sister wasn’t perfect. The hazardous path to find her is eye opening, every day is a risk and nothing is what it seems. I thought I had it all figured out but there was well written misdirection and I was caught off guard. This author was new to me and I appreciated the Advance Reader’s Copy of “The Perfect Sister” by Stephanie DeCarolis, by Penguin Random House, Bantam Books, publication anticipated 07/16/2024, provided by NetGalley. These are all my own honest personal thoughts and opinions given voluntarily without compensation.

I loved this book! The main character, Alex, goes on a hunt for her sister after she doesn't reach out to her on her birthday. She knows something happened to her while she was in the Hamptons, because she promised to always be there for her on her birthday. Once there she becomes involved with the rich, shady family that Maddie was staying with before disappearing. Filled with lots of suspense and twists, I couldn't put this book down until I figured out what happened to Maddie! Thank you Netgalley and Random House Publishing for an advanced Ed copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

The Perfect Sister was the perfect beachy thriller! I loved how this story switched points of view and timelines seamlessly!

4 stars out of 5.
This book was a solid thriller with a lot of twists and turns that I did not see coming. I was hooked from the first chapter and could not wait to get to the ending. There are multiple scandals within this book which really makes for a great page turning book. I did feel the ending was a bit rushed and would liked to have a little bit more but overall I really enjoyed reading this book.
In The Perfect Sister, we meet 2 sisters, Maddie and Alex. Alex is living in their home town while Maddie has left to pursue school to become a doctor. They have always been fairly close so when Maddie doesn't call on Alex's birthday she becomes worried. She finds herself in The Hamptons looking for answers on where her sister is and if she is ok. What she finds out is pretty shocking.
Thank you Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Bantam for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I couldn’t put this down, and was completely hooked from the start.
The setting was perfect (Hamptons in summer? A dream if you love reading about rich people problems!). The characters were both lovable (Maddy, Alix, Ben, Lily, Becca) and so easy to hate (James, Katherine, Theo). And the twists? I didn’t guess them all.
What a fun summer thriller! I’ll be recommending this to my friends as a dark beach read for sure!

I have found a new author!
Murder, secrets, family, betrayal, money.
Alex goes to the Hampton’s to find her sister Maddie who missed her birthday, and now is not responding to her phone calls and texts.
This book is written well- the characters and situations are described and developed in detail- without going on unnecessary tangents. The flashbacks to Alex and Maddie’s childhood add a layer of valuable background information. The writing style is engaging.
Thank you to author, publisher, NetGalley for advanced copy. This is an honest voluntary review.

A solid thriller about a woman searching for her missing sister in the Hamptons. It took me a little while to get into the book, but once I did, I enjoyed it. The ending had several twists I didn't see coming and I enjoyed the multiple POVs. Definitely worth a read if you like stories about sisters, family and rich people behaving badly.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

3.5 stars. Was pretty good. Found myself skipping past alot of rhe background info that didn't seem to add much to the story. Had a few twists I didn't see coming. Felt the ending was rushed and could have had more lead up. Overall I enjoyed it.

I received an ARC of this book from Random House via NetGalley in exchange for my honest feedback. Overall, this was a solid thriller. It kept my interest the whole time despite alluding to secrets. Lately, I feel that many books don't quite succeed with the fine line between mentioning secrets = suspense and mentioning secrets = boring us when it takes too long to reveal. So this one was successful.
All the characters are suspicious, so you are not sure who is actually the villain. Although I did predict two reveals, there were several others that I did not see coming, which always impresses me.
The setting of the wealthy Hamptons was described well; you definitely get a sense of the power players and the money involved here.
The part about Alex's boyfriend didn't really seem necessary and didn't add anything.
I would read this author again.

This book had me interested from the very start. Every time I thought I knew what was going on, I quickly found out I didn't. I enjoy the theme of "money can't buy happiness" with the wealthy family and all of their issues. The main focus of sisterly love really tugged at my heart strings (being an older sister myself). I highly suggest this book!
