Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the copy of The Perfect Sister by Stephanie DeCarolis. This was a good, fast read. I’m not sure the sister aspect was explored enough and never felt like I got to know the other characters. The story was great, though, and I was curious what had happened to Maddie so it really kept me reading. The reveals were numerous and shocking, so if you like a lot of surprises you will love this book!

Enjoyed this book and thought it was a fast read. Few twists at the end, some felt far fetched. Would recommend this book as a great beach read. You feel as though you are actually in the Hamptions. Realistic location descriptions.

I have found a new favorite author. I had never read anything by this author, but I will now read other books of hers. She is very skilled at economy and precision in language use. She doesn't slow down the reader's progress with unnecessary verbiage. This story is well-developed; the characters are fully-drawn and believable; the plot moves at a steady pace with few dull passages. I enjoy stories that show relationship development and how people successfully learn to live with each other in satisfying ways through difficult or dangerous circumstances. This book does that. Thanks to Netgalley for access to this excellent novel.

This is a good mystery set in the Hamptons!
This is a story of a sister set out to find her missing sister. This story takes you on a twisted ride with a couple surprises and wraps up nicely with an exciting ending!

Thanks to netgalley for this eArc for my review!

A med student in NYC, Maggie traveled to the Hamptons for the summer shortly after her mother’s death. Alex, her sister, had fought with Maggie after the funeral and they hadn’t spoken much in several months. Now Alex is searching for Maggie. This is the type of book that the reader is best going in blind. There are many twists and turns in the story, some totally unexpected. DeCarolis uses multiple points of view to both fill in the characters’ backstories and advance the plot in present time. Many of the characters are rich people behaving badly and as such very unlikeable. There are a few triggers so if you are bothered by those check them out before beginning. I enjoyed this and thank NetGalley and Penguin Random House for the opportunity to read this ARC.

This was my first read by this author and now I’m
Running to read her backlist!

This story was very intriguing from the very start. Alex sets out to search for her sister Madison, who she hasn’t heard from in a hot minute. Her sister always calls her yearly on her birthday and didn’t call this year. That automatically sent Alex into a tailspin of worry and stress wondering what was going on with Madison.

When Alex shows up to the Hamptons, she is sent on a wild goose chase from person to person trying to find her sister or someone who has recently seen her sister or can give her any information. But she ends up at the Blackwell Manor, and things are all kinds of crazy crooked and confusing.

Alex has her work cut out for her as she investigates the disappearance of her sister, with little to go off of.

And then throw James, Theo, Catherine, and Lily (the Blackwell family) into the mix and find out all the deep, dark, dirty secrets. Each one of them have been keeping one another, and see how it all intertwines into a twisted web.

This story had so many plot twist, shocking, moments, and was such a compelling read. I read this book in one sitting and stayed up until one in the morning reading it just because I absolutely could not put it down. This is one that 100% recommend if you are into mystery thrillers. You can’t go wrong with this journey.

Thank you to the author, publishing company, and netgalley, for this arc in return for my voluntary honest review.

Maybe from reading the blurb, I went in with two high expectations. This is my first book by this author, and from what I’ve heard her books are greatly enjoyed. I did end up finishing the book in less than a few days, but it definitely started out slow and I had to struggle to keep turning the pages, the story was interesting, and the mystery aspect was there and as what can be reading. Some of the characters were a little off and I felt they had no depth. With all that said, I did finish the book and it was not a DNF like I contemplated during slow parts. I will definitely recommend because I can see many other readers enjoying this story and style of writing. I will definitely be reading more by Stephanie DeCarolis and look for a book that is more appealing to me. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC.

I really liked this one, read it in one day. The characters had some depth to them and I enjoyed that Alex and Maddie didn't repeat their thoughts over and over about their split. So many different POVs each having one or more chapters was intriguing. Normally I don't enjoy that but in this case, it gave insight into each one.

A young woman goes to the Hamptons to find her missing sister. I struggled with the story line, I wanted to like it but thought the book just dragged. I did finish it but would not recommend.

I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is a Lifetime movie on steroids. Lily and Madison grew up with a complicated Mother and no Father in site. Once the girls became adults Madison suddenly disappeared. Now Lily is about to uncover secrets about her sister. This is fune, fast paced, and interesting thriller. Highly recommend!

Alex goes in search of her estranged sister and gets involved with this complicated, disturbed, rich family with information. I enjoyed this story of the bond between the two sisters, story kept me interested, the ending was a bit weaker than the rest but overall a good book

Unfortunately, I DNFed this book. It couldn’t get into it because it felt so slow to me, and I didn’t have the patience to continue, I hope others are able to enjoy it!

Thank you very much to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine for the advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

It was ok. Started slow and while I couldn’t wait for it to end, it wasn’t as surprising as I had hoped it would be.

A story of two sisters and the love they share, with lots of twists and turns. The characters are well developed and the plot twists kept me guessing until the end.

Good twisty and entertaining read. It kept me guessing until the end. I have not read anything by this author before, but after I finished this book I went back and added her other books to my TBR pile.

Alex Walker always looked up to her sister Maddie. She could always make their unstable childhood seem tolerable. As a result the girls made a pact to always spend Alex's birthday together. When Maddie cancels their plans and doesn't return her calls, Alex is suddenly on her way to the Hamptons. Using a photo and a quick message from her sister as clues, Alex is introduced to the Blackwells, the last people to see her sister alive. A gripping page turner that you don't want to miss.

I had a very difficult time trying to get interested in this book and the characters. I actually set it aside for awhile and then restarted it. I found the characters boring and the storyline difficult to follow and just could not get interested in the story. I like this authors writing and enjoyed her previous books but this one was somewhat confusing with the back and forth past and present and with the different characters. Ending was good but overall I was not impressed. Thank you to NetGalley, Stephanie DeCarolis and Random House Publishing Group for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

ok. this was seriously one of the best books that I have read in awhile. The story was well defined and I felt I got to know the characters. I don't want to be a spoiler, but I will say that the book had a surprise ending. My heart ached for the two main characters. (Alex and Maddie), I wanted them to have a happy ending. The book kept me on my toes with many twists and turns. I love to read psychological thrillers and this book surpassed my expectations. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author.
