Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author, for an ARC of this book, in exchange for an honest review.
I found "The Perfect Sister" by Stephanie DeCarolis to be an addictive, twisty & well written mystery/thriller that pulled me in right away & didn't let me go until its final outcome.
I would love to read another book by Ms. DeCarolis.

Such a good read that I enjoyed! I'm so glad that I got the chance to read it early and will definitely be recommending it to multiple people who enjoy these types of novels. I enjoyed the characters and especially enjoyed the writing by this author. I'm excited to see what the author comes out with next as I'll definitely be reading it! Thank you to the publisher for my early copy of this book!

Two sisters as close as can be because they grew up in a situation that they really depended upon each other. Dad is gone. Mom dies and this causes a bit of a rift between the sisters. One moves away for school and summers in the Hamptons where another family takes her in. Then, Maddie goes missing.

What follows is excessive background coming from multiple POV - this is where the story lags in my opinion. This is a definite slow burn thriller, not a page turner as a result. I kept thinking to myself - will we ever find Maddie??

Thanks to NetGalley for the read!

This was a story about Alex who embarks on a mission to find her missing sister, Madi in the Hamptons. It was a decent read for me. It keep me engaged and I wanted to keep reading. However there were a few cringey parts for me which is why I gave it 3⭐️. The whole thing with Theo and the glass of water kind of ruined it for me. They were in the middle of an argument and he just stops and goes to get her a glass of water? That’s not sus at all! On a positive note the one major twist I did not see coming. Overall, it was an average read that I would recommend if you want an easy, light thriller.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the opportunity to read this Kindle book!

The Perfect Sister is a great read and had me hooked from the beginning. Alex Walker is looking for her missing sister, Maddie. She will do anything in her power to get her home safely. Will Alex be able to find Maddie and save her in time, or will she become a victim herself? This book was a mystery with twists and turns until the very end. Thank you to Stephanie DeCarolis, Random House Publishing Group – Ballantine | bantam and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book prior to publishing.

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced readers copy of this title in exchange for my honest review. This book was a great mystery/thriller. Often I'll read a good mystery, but sooner than halfway I'll have figured out the plot. Not this book. Kept me engaged and wondering "what's happening next?". Definitely recommend this book!

Thank you so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc of this one in exchange for an honest review!

I have been reading a lot of thrillers lately and really be struggling with the genre in general. I felt like this one was like a lot of other thrillers I have read before and nothing really stood out for me. I felt like the characters were forgettable and nothing really stood out for me.

This book wasn't bad, it just didn't really stand out for me and it was just middle of the road.

I hope others love this one.

My first read from this Author and won't be my last. I liked that it is set in the Hamptons Long Island NY. Great story about the bond between Sisters and what happens when one of them seems to disappear and the other sets out to find her or what happened to her at any cost. This read definitely keeps you guessing. Thank you to Netgalley, Random House, Ballantine Books, and the Author, Stephanie DeCarolis for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a super fast read for me, I was intrigued right away about the missing sister. All the twists and turns and of course some good old corruption always keeps a book spicy! I loved this story, the characters and was very satisfied with the ending of this one! Thank you NetGalley for the arc!

When Alex doesn’t hear from her sister Maddie on her birthday, and can’t get ahold of her afterward, she travels to the Hampton to look for her. While trying to find any information she can, Alex discovers that she doesn’t know Maddie as well as she thought. She meets the rich and powerful Blackwell family who Maddie stayed with, some of Maddie’s friends, and tries to get help from the local police.

This is my first book my this author and I’m thankful to have been able to read this ARC. About halfway though it started getting really good and I couldn’t put it down. Lots of things happening that I didn’t see coming!

I gave this book 3 stars because I appreciated its intriguing premise. The second half was particularly gripping, filled with suspense that kept me hooked. However, I deducted two stars for the following reasons:

1. The first half was slow and somewhat repetitive.
2. The characters lacked depth and sufficient backstory, which made it difficult to connect with them. This especially applied to Ben who was mentioned several times, but I felt his character was the most underdeveloped .
3. While the first half was plausible, the second half stretched believability too far, detracting from the overall experience.

Although separated by circumstances, two sisters never missed celebrating birthdays. So the red flags went up when Maddie is MIA for the birthday call.  Alex tracks down her last residence in the Hampton and decides to go and look for her sister.
Maddie was living in a pool house on the grounds of an oceanfront mansion  when she disappeared. Her sister is offered the same room by the owners who only want to help in her search.  (only in books does this ever happen)
There's a slew of characters you could point to who could be culpable of such an act and the author introduces them slowly to the reader allowing you to change your mind at any point.
Numerous unpredictable moments in this addictive thriller.

Really, really good. Dramatic, lots of stuff going on. Everyone's a suspect. Loved the amateur sleuthing. MAJOR family drama and twists. Kinda wished end wrapped up a little better..

Thank you @netgalley for this suspenseful novel of two sisters. Alex and Maddie became estranged after their mother’s funeral. Alex realizes something has happened to her sister when she cancels their yearly get together and isn’t returning her calls. Alex quickly heads to the Hamptons where she comes across the Blackwell family. This powerful, wealthy family was the last to see Maddie. Lies, deceit, death, and secrets ensue as we unravel the mystery of Maddie’s disappearance.

Maddie Walker promised her sister Alex that she would never forget her birthday. Even after moving to New York to attend med school she would make the trip home each year. When their mother died they had an argument that led to bitter feelings. Alex believed that their mother was never there for them after their father walked out, while Maddie defended her. As Alex’s birthday neared, Maddie let her know that she was not going to make the trip this year. Now Maddie is not returning any calls and has taken a leave from school. Alex tracks her sister to the Hamptons, where she was working as a waitress. She has been living at the Blackwell estate after befriending their daughter Lilly. The Blackwells claim that she left several days earlier to return to New York, but her roommate says she never arrived. Alex is offered a place in the guest house where Maddie stayed while she tries to find her. Hidden in the couch cushions is Maddie’s phone. Alex also finds a hidden bag filled with money, but no sign of Maddie.

Alex could pass for Maddie’s twin. When she first arrived at the estate, Katherine Blackwell greeted her with a smile but was seething inside. Maddie had become close to her husband James and the arrival of her sister is viewed as another threat to her family. Lilly also became close to Maddie and Alex’s presence is disturbing. Lilly’s brother Theo resented Maddie and her behavior toward their father. Everyone in the family is hiding something and Alex is not leaving until she finds her sister and learns what brought Maddie to the Hamptons in the first place. Told in alternating time periods, Stephanie DeCarolis gives you Maddie’s story leading up to her disappearance and Alex’s search, along with each of the Blackwell’s observations. Blackmail, secrets and murder will keep you guessing to the very end. This was a true page-turner with a number of twists and a real surprise at the end. I would like to thank Random House - Ballantine and NetGalley for providing this book.

Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine and NetGalley: Thank you both for providing me with an ebook version of this story.

This isn't the first book I've read by this author, and it definitely won't be the last. She is a USA Bestseller for a reason, but I think this one fell a little flat compared to her other work. It just didn't captivate me the way others did. The cover is stunning, the story is interesting, but it just doesn't live up to some of her other books. Overall, solid 3.5 stars but rounded up to 4.

I really enjoyed The Perfect Sister by Stephanie DeCarolis. The story was told in multiple POV which kept the story pretty interesting. The author did a great job at building the suspense. Alex is searching for her sister Maddies who seems to have disappeared without a trace. Her only known wherabouts are at Blackwell Manor. She decides to visit the manor and find out the truth behind her disappearance.

Thank you Stephanie DeCarolis, NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for the ARC approval.

Alex and Maddie are extremely close sisters. They weathered the storm of their childhood together. When Maddie doesn’t hear from Alex for several days she begins to worry about her and decides to search for her. Her search lands her in the Hamptons where she meets the Blackwell family.

What follows is a page-turning, twisty thriller that has a lot of crazy turns!!! Where is Maddie? How does the Blackwell family fit into the story. What secrets from their pasts will come to the surface.

I thoroughly enjoyed this ride and would highly recommend this book!!!

Thank you Netgalley and Bantam Books for the chance to read and review this book!

Unfortunately, after multiple attempts I have been unable to get into this. I have chosen to DNF. I apologize.

The twisty story of Alex, a small town girl, who is looking for her missing sister, Maddie. With little idea where to begin, and no one taking her search seriously, Alex finds herself immersed in the dark underbelly of the Hamptons as she tries to navigate the sinister dynamics of the family whose doorstep she landed on in the middle of a rainstorm. Nobody seems to know anything about where Maddie may have gone, and the more people Alex talks to, the more murky things become. I thoroughly enjoyed The Perfect Sister, and while I thought I had figured out the ending, the last minute twist surprised me.
