I really enjoyed this 7th instalment of Freeman's Victorian mystery series with the intrepid Frances, formerly Lady Harleigh and her husband George Hazelton.

The not-quite-so-newly-weds' banter was fun to read. Especially like the beard! :) Despite the usual murder and mayhem, they were noticeably more settled and relaxed with each other and so was I.

Getting insights into the Exhibition Universelle of 1900 in Paris was a nice bonus and I look forward to where their adventures will take them next.

The story moved at an excellent clip and I finished the book in one sitting. Recommended!
