Totally fell in love with this couple, Lawson and Berkley, along with her pets Hero and Cheese! And most of all, I loved being back in Cemetery with all the great folks there! It was like coming home! 5 Love Shack stars for this one!
When Berkley settled into Cemetery, and opened the Love Shack animal shelter, the last thing she expected was to see someone from her past in this town, but there he is, Lawson, and she doesn't know what to do. He was front and center when the scandal hit their small town, and she still hasn't fully recovered from it even though it was ten years ago. But Lawson, with a horrible past of his own, makes her feel comfortable, and when she finds out what he did for her back then, she can't help but fall a little bit each day they spend together!
Follow their story as it unfolds here, Lori does an amazing job giving you all the feels, while making you fall in love with these two as well as Cemetery! And let's not forget Kathleen, the star of the town, her antics will have you laughing out loud! This is a must read!
A 3.5 star super sweet romance with no spice.
The story lines between both Lawson and Berkeley and the bonus love story between Oliver and Lark were both adorable, and I loved hearing from all of their POVs!
Thanks Netgalley, Harlequin and Lori for the ARC!
What's better than a small town romance, you wonder? A small town romance that is also a second chance, of course. Especially because the two main characters, Berkley and Lawson, had fled from the place where they grew up.
As always, this series got to me. I love how the different people who live there are always present when needed - and when Berkley needed help, they were all there for her. Starting with the matriarch.
This is one of those feel-good romances that will leave you feeling fulfilled when you finish reading, and also with the satisfaction of a story well-told.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGAlley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is not my regular genre but I know Foster is a best seller so I wanted to read this one.
Where I struggled with is how our main characters dealt with their trauma. It's been years of repression and convincing themselves that they are fine but really not and they still haven't spoken to a professional about this? Which is fine, maybe it's inaccessible to them but then Berkley in particular lets this trauma define her whole personality.
So for me... not a good fit but maybe it will be for you!

Another five star by Lori Foster !
Berkley Carr needs a new start. She was in a relationship that did not end well! She was lied to ridiculed and embarrassed. She comes to Cemetery Indiana to open The Love Shack a haven for animals. She just wants to leave the past behind!
Lawson Salder also settled in Cemetery. He has traveled the world trying to leave his poverty stricken life behind.
When he and Berkley run into each other, they are both quite surprised to find out that they are now neighbors. They were both from the same hometown. They both know about each other’s past.
Berkley’s cat Cheese is bound and determined to keep Lawson and Berkeley running into each other. You see Cheese just so happens to be a thief. He steals Lawson stuff, and Lawson comes to Berkley’s to retrieve it.
Then we have Hero , Berkley’s dog. He is her protector, and he is loyal to a fault.
You know, you have read a great book when you love the animal characters as much as you do the human characters. Lori definitely has a way of making you fall in love with ALL her characters. In the town of Cemetery we also have Kathleen. She is a mannequin and you will fall in love with her too.
Thank you, Lori Foster for this very entertaining book!
I was given this book by Lori via NetGalley in return for my honest review.
Berkeley moved to Cemetery to start over. She was not happy when she first saw Lawson, a boy from her past life. She was hoping to avoid him but in a small town that is just not possible…
The Love Shack is a cute read with a wonderful cast of characters. Individually, Berkley and Lawson, Lark and Oliver, moved to Cemetery, IN with the idea of making a fresh start with their lives. Betty Cemetery is the town matriarch, a force to be reckoned with but also someone with a heart of gold. And then there are the fabulous rescue animals Berkley takes care of in the town’s animal shelter, the Love Shack. All in all, this is a sweet story with some fun antics concerning the town’s “mascot”, Kathleen, some romance, and loveable animals!
This book was a blast to read; with its relatable, and highly likable, characters and animals you would love to run out and adopt. This summer love is in the air for Cemetery, Indiana's newest residents.
I read an advanced copy of this book
I'm so glad that I got to return to the town of Cemetery and the wonderful, crazy characters that live there. Including Kathleen. This time we get to meet Berkley, Lawson, Oliver and Lark. Berkley came to Cemetery to run The Love Shack, the town's new animal shelter, but also to live in anonymity after an embarrassing, public incident ten years earlier. Lawson grew up in the same neighborhood as Berkley in bad circumstances but escaped to better his life. Berkley wasn't happy to see Lawson because he knew about her embarrassing history but thanks to Hero and Cheese, they can't avoid each other for long. Berkley and Lawson needed each other to not only fully heal from their past, but to be each other's champion, friend and lover. Lark was a force of nature and no one can resist her, especially Oliver. This one tugged at my heartstrings, made me laugh out loud and smile with contentment, grab this one and enjoy!
The Love Shack was simply delightful and the shelter animals made the entire story even more endearing. With the tender loving care Berkley showered on her charges it was impossible for Lawson to resist falling in love with such a compassionate person. He succeeded in bringing her into the light and life she deserves. Betty, Kathleen, and the rest of the wacky Cemetery community embraced this young couple and enriched the town. I really enjoy how the author includes a side romance in her novels. I was rooting for love all around.
This was a fabulous addition to this series. I loved everything about it .It actually was two romances in one and the characters were wonderful. Berkley and lawson had a past and Lark and Oliver were strangers who clicked right away. With a little help from Betty and the town. Read this and know you will be sorry when it is over.
As Always Lori Foster Writes a book that you just can't put down until you have read it from cover to cover. I Didn't realize that this was a squeal to The Cemetery Series and was pleasantly surprised. It can also be read as a stand alone. It's not like you are left hanging wondering who previous character are, but it's a pleasant surprise when you get a short update.
I highly recommend reading this book. Of course I highly recommend reading any book written by Lori Foster.
The Love Shack is the latest release from Lori Foster. Set in Cemetery Indiana, the quintessential small-town America, this time around we get to know Berkley and Lawson.
Berkley and Lawson are from the same hometown and coincidentally move to Cemetery to start over after less than desirable beginnings. Neither is that thrilled to see the other in this new place they call home, but their shared pasts eventually help bring them to a place of understanding.
Berkley is escaping the death of her mother and a town that painted her the enemy. Lawson is escaping his drug involved so-called parents and the life he never wanted. Each has found a new way of life and new passions that fuel their desire to be better than where they came from.
Filled with fantastic secondary characters like Lark, Oliver and the matriarch of the town, Betty Cemetery, our return trip to Cemetery is filled with love, laughter, cuddly and mischievous animals and of course Kathleen shenanigans.
Fantastic new story to add to my Lori Foster collection, don’t wait to pick up a copy and get to know Cemetery.
I like reading this story about Lawson and Berkeley 's second chance love story. Both of them comes from troubled past and got a chance find a new life in small town of Cemetery. People there were so welcoming to them in their lives. That's why I love about same towns are caring ,loving, people . I also glad they found each other. I thank you Net galley for allowing me to read my first book by Lori Foster.
The Love Shack is a fun read. Berkeley and Lawton, and Lark and Oliver, have all moved to Cemetery in recent months. All are coming from troubled pasts they hope to move beyond, and each is looking to find a place to truly feel at home. In Cemetery, they find that and so much more! Between Betty, town matriarch who rules the roost, Kathleen, a mannequin who ends up all over town, and a shelter full of adorable dogs and cats, there are plenty of laughs, loads of emotion, and heart-warming entertainment.
Lots of shenanigans in Cemetery, Indiana, again. This time from a rescue dog, a thieving cat, and some newcomers looking for redemption and peace. This was such a fun story, nothing but pure pleasure reading!
I always enjoy books. by this author! Good hearted, beachy read that I really enjoyed reading- I couldn't put it down..The characters were likeable and very relatable. I truly enjoyed this book by Lori Foster the most! I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy a beachy read with a strong development of characters and an eye opening plot.
I love Lori Foster books because I always know I’m going to get a great story and characters that I root for. What I loved about this book was that the 2 main characters came from such hard backgrounds and they managed to survive their past tragic circumstances. The 2 secondary characters also dealt with difficult circumstances and came out stronger. Throw in some lovable animals and you get a real feel good story.
Berkley Carr thinks she has finally put her past to rest when she opens The Love Shack Animal Haven in the town of Cemetary. When she crosses paths with Lawson Salder her past comes back to haunt her. They came from the same neighborhood and both are trying to escape the past. But in Cemetary everyone is trying to matchmake and they are feeling an attraction to each other. Can they forget their past and embrace the love they deserve?
