This was formatted so poorly that I wasn't able to get into the book, I kept trying to figure out what was/wasn't actually part of the book. I'll definitely try reading the non-ARC version!!

This was a good book. It is the third in the series, and I feel like I would have benefited from reading the first two first. there were times the characters were confusing because the author would refer to the same character in different ways. But, overall, it was a decent read.

I can't stop getting enough of this series , infact I've read all 3 so far and I'm hoping there is going to be more to come , there's just something about this series that has me hooked , from the author 's writing style to the characters themselves, and the creepy crawly feeling you get from the bad guys . What ever it is once you start reading it's so hard to put down. The is is definitely a series that I'm, going to do a re read of some time down the road .

I have read one other Matheson novel and I enjoyed it much more than this one. The action was really nice and the thriller aspect was obviously nice. However, I was able to guess fairly quickly what was going on...

Detective Henley is back once again but this time she has to solve a case that has her old friend and boss’ reputation in questions. Will she figure out the truth does she have to accept that the man she called her friend is not who she and the rest of her coworkers thought!?
Ms. Nadine does not miss! I have read all three of the books in this series about Inspector Anjelica Henley and this was a complete roller coaster. Just when I thought I knew what was going on, a new suspect was introduced. This book is like slow burn but make it mystery, you get just enough to keep you running with a storyline then it snatches you back up and has you guessing again. Hopefully that makes sense!! Just like the previous books I really like that we get the ins and outs of the detectives personal lives and the strain the demanding work of solving serial crimes affects their personal relationships. It makes the book read like a tv show, gives the feeling of watching Criminal Minds which is my fave!! Highly recommend reading!!

4.5 stars
"He will come for them, one by one..." - from Goodreads summary.
This is the 3rd book in the Inspector Anjelica Henley series, and this series is an absolute favorite of mine. Here's the thing with series in general - they are hard to share your thoughts on especially the further that you get into a series. I do think that you could probably read this one without having read the other books in the series and be okay. But, I do truly think to get a full appreciation for this series and the characters then you want to start back with book one which is titled The Jigsaw Man. This series is dark and the author isn't afraid to go there. Each book is thick. But I find myself flying through the pages utterly immersed. I love Anjelica's character as well as all of the other members on her team. This book left off in a way that has me very curious about where the next book will go. I really enjoyed the mystery of this one and getting to watch Anjelica and her team peel back layers of the past to help solve both the current and past investigations. This series is so good and I cannot recommend it enough!
Readers who enjoy dark mysteries and police procedurals need to give this series a try. Start with the first book to get the full experience. I cannot recommend this series enough. I'm giving this book 4.5 stars but rounding up on Goodreads.

I cannot even put into words how much I love the Anjelica Henley series. Nadine Matheson has now become one of my favourite authors. If you want mystery, thrill, suspense, absolute shock and realistic/relatable characters read this book. I even felt like I was on the team trying to solve this case too. I had no idea who the killer was. Aside from Let’s not forget all the twist……woooo, I loved it. I was kept me at the edge of my seat. I cannot wait for the 4th book to come out. I highly recommend this series.

My favorite in the series! I was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. I'm impressed that the author was able to provide such an engaging and surprising story three books in the series. I hope there are more to come!

I DNFed this one about 3/4 of the way through. I lost interest in the story and felt that it was too long. The narration was hard to follow as the POV changes abruptly without pause.

This was a great crime procedural with a gripping plot. I did get confused a lot trying to keep up with all of the characters, especially with the police because it would often alternate between using a first or last name. I enjoyed the story being told from the detective's POV, but sometimes the parts about their personal lives felt a little forced. However, when the story focused on the murders, I was really pulled in and like how it was resolved. Overall, a good read that I'd recommend for those who like procedurals!

Interesting but felt like I needed to read the prior books first to really understand the back stories.

I really enjoyed this story, but I didn’t realize it was part of a series!! Now I can’t wait to go back and read all three - preferably I will come back to this after I read the first two and leave a more detailed review as well.
Part police procedural, part mystery, I can tell I will enjoy this entire series. I loved DI Henley; a strong, female main character is my favorite kind in a police procedural.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC! I will be sharing my full review of this (and the entire series) to my IG blog (@books_by_the_bottle).

The Kill List by Nadine Matheson is a gripping thriller that combines elements of crime, suspense, and psychological depth. The story follows a detective who is pulled into a chilling investigation involving a series of murders linked to a mysterious list. Matheson skillfully weaves together intricate character development and a fast-paced plot, keeping readers on edge throughout. The exploration of themes such as justice, morality, and the weight of past decisions adds layers to the narrative. With sharp prose and a compelling storyline, Matheson delivers a captivating read that will resonate with fans of the genre. Overall, it's a thought-provoking and thrilling page-turner that showcases her talent as a storyteller.

The Kill List is a thriller that will keep you engaged from the beginning to the end. DI Henley worked for DCI Harry Rhimes who arrested Andrew Streeter 25 years ago after killing 5 five and a "kill list" was found with those names. New evidence has come out now and DI Henley is shocked and it becomes very personal for her her. As the killings start happening again Henley realizes that Rhimes may have gotten it all wrong. Wanting to find out the truth Henley with the help of her team reopens the case to find out what really happened all those years ago. As the hunt for the killer intensifies you won't be able to put this book down. Even though some parts may be predictable the twist make up for it. I can't wait to read more by this author.

Twenty-five years ago, Andrew Streeter was convicted of the brutal murders of five seemingly unrelated victims. Today Streeter’s conviction is being overturned and there’s an investigation into police corruption. Was the case completely mishandled? Why was certain evidence swept under the rug? Was Streeter innocent all along? When the killing starts anew with a very different kill list, it’s up to DI Henley to find out. This book started strong, but in the end it just fizzled a bit. There was no gripping suspense, but just a straight forward story. A good read for the moment, but wont be memorable in the long run. Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

Nadine Mathison’s The Kill List delivers a gripping, pulse-pounding story that reopens the dark past of DCI Harry Rhimes’s career—and questions whether his convictions can be trusted. When new evidence suggests that Rhimes’s investigation into the brutal killings of five young people was corrupt, DI Anj Henley and her team are left scrambling to uncover the truth. But when the murders begin again, Henley must confront the reality that the wrong man may have been convicted twenty-five years ago—and the real killer is still at large, with a fresh kill list.
Having been hooked by The Binding Room, I was excited to dive into this next installment, and Mathison did not disappoint. Though it stands on its own, I’d highly recommend reading the earlier books, as returning characters add even more depth to the story and help create a rich continuity. Mathison’s background as a criminal attorney shines through, giving the plot and police procedural elements incredible realism. DI Anj Henley is a compelling character, and her dedication makes her an excellent guide through both the live and cold-case investigations.
With jet-black darkness and a pace that doesn’t let up, The Kill List kept me turning pages, eager to untangle the mystery of who the killer is and whether corruption truly played a role. Fans of dark thrillers and expertly crafted police procedurals will find this one hard to put down.
Thank you NetGalley, HQ and the author for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A digital copy of this book was provided to me by NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing. The opinions are my own and freely given.
A man is convicted of murdered, but he has always maintained his innocence. Then he is freed by the court and his conviction is overturned. Now victims are being found in same manner in which the original victims died all those years ago. This "reopens" the original investigation, and the department looks into the officers that put the suspect away. Corrupt policing, and questions abound.
Inspector Angelica Henley's best friend was one of the first victims and she discovered the body. So, she faces a lot of turmoil dredging that day back, and looking into the police at that time who she thought could do nothing wrong.
This is #3 in Inspector Angelica Henly series. I sadly admit that I have not read the first 2 YET, but I wasn't lost reading this one at all.

Another intriguing installment to the Anjelica Henley series. Henley is forced to come to terms with events from her youth and the explosive impact they have on her career in the force. All truths eventually come to light, and DI Henley must forge a path forward. Every time I put the book down for the night, I couldn’t wait to continue the saga the next day.

This was a fabulous read. I love reading crime thrillers because I can't put them down. I have to know who is the murderer. With 5 kills, I needed to know how this book finished!

DI Anjelica Henley is a complex and flawed protagonist. I love that Matheson reveals a little more about her personal life and past with each new installment in the series. In The Kill List, we meet a new to us serial killer but it is a case that Henley knows intimately. The emotional connection to Henley’s past really upped the stakes and I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish!
