Thanks NetGalley and Viz Media for this arc!

5/5 stars

I'm really enjoying this series! It's funny and light hearted, even though it's dealing with heavier subjects like assassinations and theft lol. This is really fun, and I'm excited to continue this series, not only to see where it's going, but also to see how this cliffhanger gets resolved!!!

Chapters 7-15 of the manga

This volume of Marriagetoxin was great like the previous one. We got to see more of Gero's skills as well as him in a more social(?) setting, and we got to learn more about him as a character. From snippets of his past to how he treats others, we just can't help but cheer him on! Can't wait to read the next volume.

This series continues to be so much fun and I feel like this volume changes the vibe slightly! Like Gero ends up being a bodyguard and escorts his charge on a camping trip and then it takes a spooky, almost horror movie type vibe as they try to evade the assassin in the woods with a spooky legend hanging over them!

I’ll admit I enjoyed this volume more than the previous one as it starts to really get into the flow of things but it’s just as fun and action packed as the first!

I think this is where I am going to leave the series. I just could not get into volume two. I have been recommending this series though to shonen fans! I have gotten wonderful feedback from customers about how much they enjoy this series.

I loved the first one, and this sequel definitely didn’t disappoint! There were just as many hilarious, touching, and action-packed moments and I really enjoyed how Himekawa’s story wrapped up for now. I also liked getting to delve into a new scenario with fun new characters, masters, and mayhem for the second half of this volume.

A fun follow up to volume 1! We meet a new master assassin and a new potential love interest for Gero. I like that our two main characters are the same but we get a whole cast of new characters in this volume. It's interesting to see how Gero adapts to the new jobs he has and he remains his awkward self when it comes to women but is making some progress. Kinosaki is still very present in this volume but I definitely felt less of any kind of romantic vibes between Kinosaki and Gero. Gero's new job takes him undercover as a college student in order to guard an heiress to a major corporation which is entertaining to say the least. The artwork remains fantastic and the plot moved along quickly. There are lots of quirky scenes/moments that are humorous and I really enjoy the action scenes in this volume. I am now anxiously awaiting the next volume since this leaves off on a cliffhanger!

Marriage Toxin is a fun, action filled adventure with a socially awkward main character and his very extroverted friend/dating coach that I recommend to anyone looking for a quick, quirky, all around good read!

Poison Master Gero is locked in battle with a Water Master as volume 2 opens. Gero is there to rescue Himekawa, an art thief, with the assistance of marriage swindler Kinosaki in the hopes of maybe finding a wife. But Gero finds out that defeating an enemy is easier than creating a relationship that may lead to marriage so off to another job! The new job is posing as a college student while being a body guard for Shoriure Shino, the heir to a mega-corporation. The girl's aunt has plans on the company while the girl's uncle wants to follow his late brother's wishes. So will Gero and Kinosaki be able to thwart all the plans the Sound Master has carefully laid? The reader will need to tune in for volume three of Marriage Toxin to find out!

Thanks Netgalley and Viz Media for the chance to read this title!

I really liked this volume! I love all of the action because it's so different from a regular fighting manga. Gero's nervousness to talk to people is so relatable. I can't wait to see where the story goes from here!

Ack, it ended on a cliffhanger! I like where volume 2 picked up and it kept the same rhythm and flow as volume 1. Gero is forever hilarious and I loved seeing him in the cat ears. Seeing him adapt his teachings is also hilarious because he does everything...very awkwardly.

Also, a sound master?! That's such a cool power I've never thought of. I can't wait to see them duke it out in volume three.

Thank you Viz Media and NetGalley for the ARC!

The water master was very cool, and I liked the art thief Gero made friends with in this edition. I would like to continue.

In this second volume of "Marriage Toxin" our main character has some good character development going on. He is finally able to carry on a decent conversation with women without being super awkward. I am actually convinced that Gero might find himself a wife. On the other hand, saving these women is proving to be a little bit difficult. I do have faith that Gero will continue to destroy these other masters in battle. Curious to see how the fight will carry out in volume three.

VIZ Media provided an early galley for review.

A few months back, I checked out the the first volume of this manga. I am eager to see how the story continues.

The action picks right up volume 1 left off - with Gero facing off against the water master. The artwork once again conveys the energy and emotion of the dynamic encounter. But once the tide turns and the battle is over, the even more challenging navigation of the world of dating begins for Gero. And this, clearly, is the bigger of the challenges for him. Poisons and fighting for survival is what he was raised to do. Connecting with another on a personal level is a whole new world for him.

Gero's second assignment is one of protection for a young woman set to inherit a family run corporation. His skills are put to the test when another interestingly powered assassin targets her. Again, the artwork of the action scenes is very exciting. Once more, we end on a cliffhanger to be resolved in the next volume (smart planning to encourage continued reading of the series).

I like too that each chapter ends with a page from a character profile glossary. It is a quick summation of details accompanied by figure art of each character.

Marriage Toxin volume 2 continues the absurdist action comedy bonanza from the first volume. As the first story arc (if we measure them by the lead female of the storyline) wraps up, another one starts, ending this volume with a cliffhanger. I would dismiss this as absolute fluff if it weren't for the actual truth bombs they drop about human relationships amidst all the weird things going on.

Thank you to NetGally and Viz Media for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review. This series follows Poison Master Gero and marriage swindler Mei as they try to find Gero a wife so that he can further his great lineage. We follow Gero and Mei as they take on missions to show off to potential mates. Vol 2 is even more ridiculous than volume 1 and that's great.

Gero is back to working another job furthering his goal to eventually get married allowing him to continue the poison master family line. Volume 2 concludes the previous cliffhanger and then continues with a new job where he is protecting a girl who stands to inherit her father's company. But all she wants to do is make friends by being herself. Can Gero empower her to be her best self, protect her and further his own growth towards his goal?

Marriage Toxin continues to surprise me with how heartfelt it can be. Sure, there's plenty of action with the various assignments, and fun characters being peppered throughout, but it's how our poison master reacts to said characters that gives me the warm fuzzies. For as distant as he was raised to be, he cares, and the people around him care right back. He even gives a real date a try! Progress!

Loved the continuation of the story. The artwork is still great, and the characters are fun. I like that the "romance" isn't the main part of the story. The addition of new characters with new abilities is cool and I'm excited for where the rest of the story will take us.
