Thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter for the ARC!
One Bed offers a charming blend of humor, romance, and memorable characters. While this lighthearted read didn’t meet all my expectations, it was still enjoyable, especially with its rich setting and the beloved “one bed” trope. Initially, I struggled to get into the story due to some slower pacing in the first chapters, but as the plot unfolded, Bea’s character arc pulled me in, and her journey toward self-assertion became one of the highlights. Bea’s godmother, Golly, deserves special mention—she brought a delightful energy and lightness, quickly becoming my favorite character with her vibrant personality and wit.
However, the romantic dynamic didn’t completely resonate with me. Gib, the male lead, felt authentic but often frustrated me with his lack of communication and tendency to play “fixer.” His feelings for Bea didn’t feel as developed as I’d hoped, and I wanted to see a bit more emotional growth from him. While their chemistry was evident, both characters could have benefited from resolving personal issues before diving into a relationship.
Despite these aspects, I appreciated the vivid descriptions that brought the setting to life and the satisfying epilogue that tied things together well. Though this book had its ups and downs, it’s an enjoyable story for anyone in the mood for a fun romance with memorable characters.

Wildly entertaining!
The whole book is over the top crazy big and bold. The characters are incredible - Golly is fabulous, and the two MC are interesting. The setting is gorgeous and the descriptions made me feel like I was right there. The storyline is incredulous - 1 bed on a whole island is unbelievable but it's all part of the over the top experience. It was an enjoyable read, she falls first - one bed trope - CEO romance.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.

I was selected to do a ARC read on this book. I gave this book 3 stars not because I didn’t enjoy it mainly because the mfc complained ALOT about her ex. While it added to the story a little bit it was not a huge factor and didn’t not need to be in every single chapter. I felt like between the MMC and the mfc they both had very big issues outside the bedroom they may have wanted to work out before jumping into a relationship.
Now on to the positive. Golly. I couldn’t love her more. She had flair and sass. Kept the story light and fun. She by far was my favorite character. The epilogue was my favorite chapter in the whole book! The setting was perfect and the description of the people and places were great! I felt like I could see them all!
Thank you @NetGalley for the ARC read

This was absolutely amazing! I was totally enthralled with this story from beginning to end, I could barely put it down, and when I finally read the last page, the house was dark, I was hungry, thirsty, needed to pee and my neck was stiff. But damn, it was worth it!

I really loved the premise of this story but I feel that it didn't quite hit the mark. My main issue was Gibson, I really couldn't connect to him at all, whereas I really loved Bea. Pretty sure this was a 'me' problem, rather than the book itself.

One Bed, by Joss Wood, is a fun and light read with an interesting plot that keeps you interested. The characters are the best, especially Golly. Her name is so fitting. Joss Wood is an author from whom I will be looking to read more novels.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with the ARC ebook I read and reviewed. All opinions are my own.

The first 25% of the book- I Ate it up! The rest of the book was like pulling teeth. Let me be upfront, I know this book isn’t meant to be taken seriously. Clearly, it’s meant to be an outlandish and funny book. But the writing choices in this book were too much for me.
1. Bea is extremely immature. There’s talk about her going through therapy but mentioning your ex in 90% of the inner dialogue does not scream “I’m over this.”
2. Gib gives off the vibe that if you ask him what his favorite color is he’s going to start sobbing in a corner saying that it’s all just TOO MUCH.
3. At some point Gib mentions Bea’s “sexy toes” 🤮🤮🤮
4. Every challenge, and I mean EVERY is made into a mountain. For example, finding a new agent. Bea spends too much time freaking out on if the new company will publicly out her. I don’t understand how simple communication and a contract won’t fix the issue???
Again, I am fully aware this is not meant to be taken as a serious book, but it was so far out that had it not been an ARC I would have DNF’d it at 50%.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins for the ARC in return for an honest review.

One Bed is a light read with great side characters and just the right amount of spice! Admittedly, I had a tough time getting into the story in the first handful of chapters, despite loving the setting and “only one bed” trope. However, once things really started moving, I fell in love with Bea and her spitfire of a godmother, Golly! Bea’s character development over the course of the story was awesome, and I enjoyed watching her stand up for herself in spite of her insecurity. Gib was not my favorite MMC - I found myself feeling really frustrated with him for his lack of communication and constant need to go into “fix it” mode - but his character did feel authentic. I really wanted to like him, he has quite a backstory and was plenty charming, but like Bea, I just needed more from him.
Overall, while this book did not check all of my boxes, it was a cute read!

This was a wonderful book! I really enjoyed reading this book. The plot is very well written and interesting, and the characters were well developed. I would definitely recommend this to other readers!

This was not my first read by this author, but this one was a miss for me. I couldn't connect with the characters at all. I really wanted to love this one but something was missing for me. The MMC was not my cup of tea, unfortunately.

This was NOT it for me, unfortunately. I liked the FMC Bea and enjoyed her arc/growth, but I found the MMC Gibson to be horribly rude. The story did not redeem him AT ALL and it made me so turned off by their romance that I couldn't even enjoy the spicy scenes. I'm sorry to say that I cannot recommend this book.
Thank you to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK, and Joss Wood for providing this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I requested to read this ARC based on the cover alone, I absolutely love it! A fantastic piece of Art and a perfect match to the title.
I enjoyed the story, which is pretty much what it says in the title, although there isn’t much of a story to follow it doesn’t lack in keeping you entertained. The last few chapters really sold it for me, as there was just so much more” more depth, more emotion, just more.
It’s a cute, slow burn, forced proximity that will either keep you as entertained as it did me, or you are looking for something more. But for me it hit all the right spots and I really enjoyed it.

This was a cute idea and a pretty easy read, but I didn’t really feel like the MMC had much depth other than “hot brooding man of mystery”. The resolution at the end was a bit lacking, I’m not sure why Bea accepted him back so easily. Golly was a fun character and I do love the “one bed” trope so I enjoyed that side of things.

The concept for this book is so cute and I was so excited to read this. Bea is a great main character who was easy to root for but I wish she had a bit more growth that went along with her. At times it was hard to continue reading because it felt like Gib had absolutely no depth, no motive, and unfortunately not much interest in Bea. Golly was a saving grace when she was in it but she was a minor character. Given the concept and the setting for the book I wish I could've enjoyed it more but the lack of chemistry between the two main characters made it hard to most of the time.

One Bed by Joss Wood. A new to me author that I decided the storyline sounded interesting and the setting. It was spicy but it just didn't grab me. For me it was just a okay book.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to ARC read♥️
Overall, it was a good story. I liked the concept, and the main character Bea. She definitely had her issues and insecurities, but I was still rooting for her, and was happy reading her growth throughout.
For me, I felt like Gib fell short with his personality and growth. I never felt like he really liked Bea as much as she liked him, and that vibe is not what I like in a book
It was a super cute storyline and I enjoyed it, but I would’ve loved this book a lot more if Gib had more to him and better feelings for Bea. I didn’t think the way he talked to her was redeemable in my opinion.

Unfortunately I had to DNF, the writing and plot was just not there unfortunately. I wanted to love this but struggling to keep in engaged and interested in the story line. I hope other readers enjoy it though.

2.5 ⭐
GAH! Golly was just the best side character. Such a fun aunt. I was really so invested in her wild ways. .
On the other hand, Bea was okay and I enjoyed her slight growth. Gib on the other hand was not a likeable MMC for me. There was not much to depth to his character and he was honestly just mean, without any groveling.
If you enjoy one bed, forced proximity and a quick read, this is for you.
Thank you Netgalley and the author for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a super cute story! I really enjoyed this book especially toward the end when it seemed to get deeper and more emotional. This book was not very spicy in my opinion, I mean there is some spice but it's very mild and not very detailed. I really enjoyed Golly and Reena as characters as well.
There were a lot of times at that end that I could really relate to Bea and her feelings. I think the author did a great job of sucking me in during the third act breakup.
I definitely recommend this book!
