This novel started off great, in my opinion. A meet cutewith a flat tire, then Bea and Gib ending up having to share the cottage of a villa in Santorini, with one bed. Not so bad, especially since these are the reasons I decided to request this book off NetGalley.
Sadly, everything stopped there. I mean, it had its nice moments with Bea's godmother being all over the place and over the top personality. But Bea's character fell flat. I get where she was comingfrom, her childhood and stuff, but she felt a bit immature and prickly, which didn't make me feel that close to her character.
Gib is all words. He likes to pry into Bea's life withouth giving anything in return. His povs where in total contraddictions to his actions in Bea's povs.
I'm rephrasing something another reviewer wrote, an easy but forgettable read once you finish it.
Thanks to NetGalley for the free e-book for a review.

What a wonderful read. As always, Joss Wood knows how to write a really great book. I enjoyed it from start to finish. The characters are amazing, they blend so well in the story, complementing each other—and there’s only one bed!
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley.

I struggled to get into this at first but then, at the same time, it felt like things just happened really quickly - too quickly for me to develop more care for any of the characters. There wasn't much chemistry... I read through it really quickly and just as quickly forgot about it. Sorry.

WOAH. The sparks between Gib & Bea are FLYING from the beginning. Their banter and inner monologues make the book fly by.
I hate a third act break up but liked that the characters made realistic growth during their 6-week break. Can we talk about how Golly is simply the best? She is by far my favorite character and made me laugh through the whole book.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this book was a cute quick read but definitely a little cheesy which isn’t a bad thing. I finished this book quickly and loved the banter of the main characters in this book. One thing is the book felt a little rushed and as a result the main characters didn’t have that spark or chemistry I was hoping for. Overall I enjoyed the book but it just felt a little flat at times but that’s a personal thing. I would still recommend this book to romance readers especially if they are a fan of the one bed trope or would like a quick read.

Unfortunately I DNF’d this book. I could
Not get into this book and the chapters were way too long. I was falling asleep every chapter. If the chapters were shorter, this book could of had potential

This was a cute romance set in Santorini; I think the author did an amazing job of capturing the feel of Santorini and I really felt as if I was there. There were elements in this story that I really enjoyed, but for me there was an equal amount of elements that I did not enjoy and really pulled my head out of the space I wanted to stay in. I found the two main character's relationship at times confusing and contradictory.
Ultimately it was a fun read though and I would recommend to anyone liking romance and wanting to capture that Greek island holiday feeling.
Thank you so much to HarperCollins UK for the arc via NetGalley, and for giving me the opportunity to share my honest thoughts on the book.

Bea definitely needed a vacation and her godmother’s Greek island is the perfect place to figure out her writer’s block.
It was hard as she had to share her cottage with him – Gibson Caddell, a childhood friend and a huge drop-dead-gorgeous.
As the sun sets on Santorini, There is a problem, there’s two of them. And only one bed…Wow!
Readers can't get enough of this book. Made me laugh and break my heart.

As other review mentioned there is a lack of chemistry between the two MCs which I think is a must have when writing romances. DNF unfortunately as the storyline felt quite done and I lost my interest. Shame as it's well written

I was super excited to read One Bed by Joss Wood. The one bed trope is one of my favorite tropes so I couldn’t wait to read it.
This book was not what I expected and it just wasn’t for me. The MC’s, Gib and Bea chemicals just wasn’t really there. And the plot/writing was a little flat and lacking.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.
This follows Bea and Gib who end up forced to stay together in a small cottage in Greece.
Both characters are looking for an escape from the world and end up with more than they planned on.
This is a slow burn, dislike to lovers - a forced proximity holiday romance. This wasn't the most amazing book I have ever read but it was fun and an easy read.
I felt like we could've explored the characters a bit more - it was lacking depth but overall enjoyed it as a romance reader.

It delivered on the one bad aspect but it was still overall so 🫳🏻🫴🏻 like I didn't really feel their chemistry it was more physical and I wanted more. There was definitely insta love present. I did have fun at times and I enjoyed it so I wouldn't say it was completely bad but it was boring at time and I wanted to skim. I'd say that it serves as a perfect palette cleanser when needed. The characters share a good banter so that was easy to read as well but everything that was happening felt way too rushed and honestly it wasn't grabbing my attention like I wanted it too 😔 so that was a bummer. The spice was okay as well. It's wasn't bad but I feel like with a couple more chapters and with attention to the detail this book could've been way better. I see the potential in this one and to be honest I may come back and read it when I need a palette cleanser it may increase my rating as well. It wasn't bad.

I absolutely loved this book. It was just perfection! The characters I fell in love with. The story itself is addictive. This book is so so easy to read and extremely enjoyable.

I had so much hope for this book, but it fell flat to me. There was no depth to any of the characters, and the “conflict” was boring. Even the spice was boring. Just overall not something I’d recommend.

Joss Wood is a new author for me, and her book hit the spot! This was a cute, homey read, that hit all the feels! The characters were very likable and had good character development. Things seemed a little too rushed at times with their connection, and there was a little too long narration, but I would definitely recommend this book for a lighthearted read! I will be reading Joss Wood back-log!
Thank you Netgalley for the arc!

This romantic comedy offers a fun, lighthearted read with plenty of cute moments, set against a breathtaking backdrop. The “one bed” trope is featured, and the inclusion of Bea's wild godmother provides a refreshing contrast to the main storyline, arguably making her the standout character in the narrative.
The story centers on Bea, a talented author who publishes under a pseudonym and finds herself at a crossroads, and Gib, a successful businessman who’s in desperate need of a break.
The opening of the book is somewhat heavy on exposition, which made it a little slow to get into. This slower start, coupled with a first meeting between Bea and Gib that felt a bit stiff, left me struggling to feel that initial spark of chemistry between the characters. As a result, it took a little while to fully invest in their story.
While the writing itself is serviceable, it occasionally lacks the depth and emotional pull that could make it truly memorable. While I think romance readers will still find enjoyment in the book, it ultimately doesn’t leave a lasting impact.
Overall, this is a light, enjoyable read with some cute moments and strong secondary characters, but it doesn’t quite elevate itself to a standout in the genre.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review 'One Bed'.

One Bed was a fun and cute read with lots of steam! I love the one bed trope so was so excited for this when I saw it on Netgalley. It had good characters and I loved the greek setting for the story.
My biggest issue was a personal one with romances - I struggle with third person reads for romances and much prefer them to be first person so it took me a bit of time to get into the book and get to know the characters. I struggled to engage and invest in Bea and Gib's romance and that took away some of the enjoyment for me. There is potential but for me personally, I found it a bit too slow and it didn't quite work for me.

Thanks to the author and publisher for the copy 💕
This book has a really cute and cosy vibe to it, with the main characters slowly falling in love throughout with the one bed they have to share on the greek island they're both staying at. I really liked the dynamic that they both had, although to me it wasn't enemies and more just mutual annoyance of one another. However I felt like sadly for majority of the book I did struggle to engage with it and it had me wondering what was going on

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me free access to the advanced digital copy of this book. A gorgeous 4 star read book from me. What an exciting plot, vivid storytelling and relatable, rich characters. I could put this book down – absolutely loved it.

Thank you so much to Netgalley, One More Chapter and Joss Wood for providing me with an advanced reader copy for review purposes!
Either 2.5 or 3 ⭐
One Bed is the story of Bea, a bestselling author that finds herself at a crossroad and has to take one of the biggest decisions of her life, and Gibson, a closed-off CEO that desperately needs a holiday. The two end up having to share a living space thanks to Golly, Bea’s godmother/grandmother/literary agent, who promised the cottage to both of them.
As you can probably guess from the title, the one bed trope plays a huge role in the development of this story.
The story was entertaining but there wasn’t anything that caught my attention and made me excited to keep reading and figure out what was going to happen next. Despite the long chapters that initially made it a tad difficult to get into the story, I wasn’t bored or anything. I just didn’t really care.
