Detective Madison Harper is attending a local support group for families of missing people. She is not able to open up cold cases but she able to listen.
While there is called away as a body is found on Grave Mountain, and while there more are found, was this all the work of one killer, or is there more….
The twist and turns in this book keep you turning pages, and on the edge of your seat.

Another great book in this series, a fast paced thriller full of twists and turns which kept me involved from the beginning until the end.

I just love these books with Madison and Nate and of course Brody, all good characters which are so well described, they are just fast paced thriller reads all the way and of course, brilliant endings.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

This book does a thing that I really like when it's done well, as it is here. What it is, though--what's up--is make the mystery just short of solvable. Like, there's a limited number of potential suspects, so it's probably one of them, but I just can't decide for sure. Add to that the fact that this is another solid entry in a series I really like and you've got a winner.

A detective in Colorado attends a meeting of a support group for families who have a missing loved one. She wants to try and find new evidence, especially since the sole member of a group of three hiking friends who returned from the hike is at the meeting proclaiming his innocence in having anything to do with the two missing girls. Remains are discovered near the trail where the trio hiked, and then more remains, and yet more. Is there a serial killer, or is Grave Mountain just a convenient place to dump bodies?

This is a well-crafted mystery with more twists and turns than a Twizzler! It will keep a reader up into the wee hours trying to piece together the clues. Though I had not read any of the other titles in the series, I did not feel at a disadvantage, although some of the backstory between the detective and the local PI would have enhanced my enjoyment of the story, I'm sure.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my copy of Grave Mountain by Wendy Dranfield.
As I got closer to the end I knew I couldn’t sleep until I’d finished this book.
With a twisted plot and great characters, this book has it all.

Detective Madison Harper is sitting in on a family support meeting, where those people are there for missing family members. Madison is shortly to be called to a scene on Grave Mountain where a victim has been found. Within a couple of days, more are found. Madison along with the Sheriff's department are trying to work out - why, how, when, who - as to what happened and are they linked? The story is told over several time periods. It was touching to read about how the old and new characters become a well oiled team to solve the mystery. Once again, Wendy has delivered a fast paced, enthralling and unputdownable story with plenty of twists, turns, red herrings with a dramatic conclusion.

Oh my stars my heart was broken by this book.

So many careless acts of murder for no reason. My heart couldn’t cope with one of the deaths, it wasn’t fair.

I blitzed this straight from Her Lonely Bones as I just knew the story would continue from Doug and Nancy Draper but I didn’t expect this. I really can’t express how sad this book has made me. But my god it's a damn good book. It’s intense and a rollercoaster of a ride and you are constantly feeling that ticking clock on your shoulders as more and more bodies start to show up. It was depraved and dark but so addictive.

I have no idea where Wendy gets these ideas but they are good. She has no qualms upsetting the reader that’s for sure! But she does it with love and care….

Madison and Nate have big plans and I am so excited for their future. They give me the warm fuzzies and I hope it means Nate will stay forever and ever and ever and ever and ever. Maybe Dean Mathison could move in too.

Itching as ever for the next one, and happy to give my child for it…ok maybe not, but I have 5 cats.

After sitting in on a support group for individuals who have missing family members, Detective Madison Harper feels called to open one of the cases. As soon as she does, bodies are found on Grave Mountain. In the meantime, she encourages Nate (her significant other) to help another one of the missing families locate their a loved one. And, of course, their cases intertwine in a big way. More bodies are found, and a very special person to Madison - someone who welcomed her back to Lost Creek when no one else would -is found brutally murdered. And, personally, Madison has a lot on her plate with Nate wanting to take steps in their relationship. Wendy Dranfield has created such a wonderful character in Madison Harper - she's flawed, but through all that, she is loyal and honest. Each book keeps getting better and better - which is something considering how fantastic this series is. Thank you to Bookouture for an advanced reader of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.

Seventh book in the series, and I feel like I could read ten more with no risk of getting tired of it. This time, I finally managed to guess something very important earlier than was probably intended, but I couldn't be entirely sure and anyway there were still several twists to surprise me.
As usual, I loved following Madison's investigations (and Nate's, even if we get less of his point of view). And of course there are other characters (including the pets) that I'm always happy to see again too. I'm attached to quite a lot of them now.
Warning for people who haven't read the whole series yet: some references to past events inevitably spoil parts of previous books (not entire plots, though, and I think you'd still enjoy reading the other books later if you decide to read this one first).

Wow, there are so many skeletons and suspects in this story my head is spinning! An amazing roller coaster ride with Madison and Nate.
Wendy Dranfields writing just gets better each episode of this brilliant series. I’m really enjoying reading about Detective Madison Harper, in fact she has become one of my favourite fictional police people.
Grave Mountain flows along, the writing is exciting and hard to put down. Detective Harper and her boyfriend Nate Monroe, who is a private investigator, hardly get time to rest during this investigation. They are trying to find the serial killer they’ve christened the Grave Mountain killer. The ending is fantastic reading, I was on the edge of my seat.
Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the opportunity to read and share this book.

I really enjoy this series and book 7 is a great addition to the Madison Harper series. The developing characterisation is good and it rolls along at a fast pace which keeps the reader interested. I liked the plotting, which is filled with twists and I had no idea who the killer was as the tension built to the end. This is another good addition to the series which readers will enjoy as much as I did. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

OH. MY. GOD!

The latest installment of Detective Madison Harper will have you on the edge of your seat, having to take a moment to breath, to keep going, unsure of exactly how it will all end.

As the body count continues to increase the investigation into a cold case of 2 missing girls, turns into something else, are they dealing with a serial killer or has the mountain become the grounds for multiple murders?

Around every turn, there is another switchback to keep you guessing and a drama filled, edge of your seat ending to the mystery.

If you have been reading the series, you will love book 7!

I was hooked on the Madison and Nate series since the very beginning, and this latest addition to this marvellous series did not disappoint!! I love the interaction between those two, how they work cold cases together while being one in law enforcement and the other one a PI and having each other's back. This town never ceases to amaze me with its load of deranged people!! Please dear Wendy do write much much more of this series, it is just fantastic and thrilling! I can't wait for the next installment! #GraveMountain #NetGalley

I love this series! Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy.
Book #7 does not disappoint! This series gets better and better. The author teased that she would make us like Madison's partner Adams. I did think that was possible, because I really didn't like the guy. Well, never doubt a good story teller like Wendy Dranfield! I actually do like the guy! This starts with the discovery of the skeleton remains on Grave Mountain. then another, then another! The twist and turns in this book were so good. I am looking forward to book 8 and more! Can't wait to see how Brody, Bandt, and Ms Pebbles get along. Highly recommend!

Wendy Dranfield delivers another enthralling and suspenseful book in the Madison Harper series. If you haven’t read the previous books, you definitely need too. There is so much back story you need to know about the two main characters, Madison and Nate.
My thoughts:
I was so totally engrossed with reading Grave Mountain, I couldn’t put it down for a minute. Talk about keeping you in suspense!
Madison is knee deep in bodies as more are discovered on Grave Mountain. What is going on? Is this a serial killer or just random killings?
Once again, Nate and his dog Brody are available to help Madison and her team.
I enjoy seeing Madison and Nate’s relationship evolve. We never know which way it is going to go.
I am excited to read the next book in the series!
Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I think this is my favorite book of this series so far! Detective Madison Harper is dealing with a whopper of a case when several bodies are discovered on Grave Mountain. Remains are found off a popular hiking trail that are believed to be a pair of friends who have been missing for several years. The third hiker who accompanied them was the only one to return after some bad weather struck. He was never charged, but the families of the missing girls always believed he was responsible. Yet at their local support group for families of missing people, he has the nerve to attend!

The case gets trickier when more bodies are discovered. It’s great that families will have answers, but there are more bodies than missing people – at least from the support group. Who are these other victims? Is Grave Mountain a serial killer’s dumping ground or is it used by more than one killer? Madison doesn’t know which is worse. And right in the middle of this huge case, Madison might be down a partner, as Detective Adams keeps missing work and he barely puts in the effort when he does show up.

Thank goodness Nate and Brody are available to assist. Nate takes on the case of a missing teenage boy after meeting the father at the support group. The man’s home is in foreclosure after he’s spent every penny he has trying to locate his son. Nate works free of charge, hoping to give the man some kind of closure. Brody is adorable as always, sniffing out remains and hunting down the bad guys.

When it’s revealed why and how the crimes are committed…whoo boy! Talk about pure evil. You just think, ok someone’s killing a lot of people, but no, it’s so much worse. The level of depravity is off the charts. Yet somehow Madison and Nate help each other through it like it’s all just another day in the life of a detective and a PI. And speaking of those two – well, you’ll just have to wait and see!

I loved this book and this series. There are bodies found on Grave Mountain and Detective Madison Harper, her boyfriend Nate and his dog Brody are on the hunt. If you haven’t read this series you should start now. Great book and series.

Someone close to Madison is found brutally murdered. As she gets closer to cracking the case, a tip-off leads her back to the mountain, and she knows that if she’s going to catch the killer, she has to hike it alone. But as another storm closes in, Madison realizes she may have just walked into a trap that means she’ll never make it off the mountain alive…
I’m so sad it's over. I could have read another sixty chapters . . . A fantastic read!
Cancel all plans while reading - I inhaled this amazing book over one weekend and resented everything that kept me away from it! The writing was top notch and the characters were very real.
