Title: Falling in Line
Author: Kasey Stockton
Star Rating: 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It was a clean second-chance romance in a small town called Arcadia Creek. The FMC Jane ran away five years ago, and she returned to care for her father and left her boyfriend (almost fiance) behind. I did not understand Jane and why she left. Even explaining it didn't make sense; she only said "sorry." She had a big communication issue. Tucker had to change his life after Jane left him. I actually liked him.
Thoughts on Plot: The plot was engaging. Usually, I love to read books with a lot of spicy scenes. This book only had a kissing scene. However, I love the dynamic between them, and the lack of spice did not bother me. It was a fun listen. It did not have any unexpected turns during this book.
Pacing: The pacing was perfect.
What You Liked: I love how slowly Tucker trusted her and progressed in their second chance.
What You Didn’t Like: I wouldn't say I liked that she had no real explanation for why she left and did not really apologize. She was sorry because if she communicated, this wouldn't happen.
Intended Audience: Clean romance, second-chance, and small-town lovers will enjoy this novel.
Whether You’ll Read the Sequel: This is the second book in the series, even though I did not notice it until after I finished that book. I will definitely continue reading the series.
Conclusion: The book was very engaging, and the narrators were absolutely amazing. I actually wish it did not end and that they continued reading the next novel.

“break my heart once, shame on you. break my heart twice? nope. not gonna let that happen.”⁣

june returns to her texas hometown to help her dad recover from knee surgery. she only intends to stay long enough to make sure he’s okay, but being in arcadia creek means she has to confront people and memories she wanted to leave behind.⁣

tucker, of course, refuses to get hurt again; it was bad enough the first time june left him. but it’s a small town and there’s no escaping one another—and their connection.⁣

told from the perspectives of both june and tucker, falling in line by @authorkaseystockton is not just a sweet second-chance romance, but also a story of facing your regrets and the people you didn’t mean to hurt, taking chances and pivoting from the life you thought you had to live. i had fun alongside june and tucker as they sorted through their feelings and challenges—the dual narration for the audiobook really brought them to life—and enjoyed revisiting arcadia creek (after love on deck) with its quirks and charms.⁣

definitely a good contemporary read for a clean-romance reader.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

It is safe to say that the town of Arcadia Creek has my heart. I was so so so excited to read this book, after reading the first one of the interconnected series (Love on Deck). Kasey Stockton knows how to put a small-town feel on paper, without it being too “cheesy”. The book was fast-paced, and full of adventure and kept me wanting more throughout the entire book.

June and Tucker’s second chance brought me so many smiles and laughs. And their friendships and family dynamics (mainly Tucker’s) were just so fun! I sure hope Dusty is going to get his book because his character was just so fun and his banter with Tucker was spot on. And he BETTER keep that kitten!!!

There are deep themes of deception, hurt, sorrow, and forgiveness, which make this story such a beautiful one. When June stands up at the Quilting Bee meeting and gives her “speech”.....CHILLS. It was seriously the moment that I was waiting and hoping for and it did not disappoint at all.

I do wish there was more spice to this, as there really was not any at all. I think it would have added to this romantic book but overall, it did not NEED it, which I am sure is why it was not included.

I also did not LOVE the FMC narrator…..it is just not the voice I pictured, however, that is not a huge factor for me, as the story very much made up for that.

Kasey, you did it again and I cannot WAIT to come back to Arcadia Creek again!

Just loved this story! The ultimate second chance love story that I could not get enough of! June and Tucker are so sweet and they’re warming back up to each other after massive heart break! I loved the raw, true emotions that the author doesn’t gloss over. June and Tucker have such strong emotions for each other, love, but also hurt and distrust. Kasey Stockton did a fantastic job of giving us a wonderfully warm and sweet love story!

Falling in Line is a sweet little palette cleanser! Also filled with some of your favorite tropes.

- Second chance romance
- Small town setting
- Unexpectedly returning home after many years

Tucker got his heart broken by June. She was the love of his life and suddenly out of no where, she was gone. 5 years have gone by with not even a word from June, when suddenly she’s back in Arcadia Creek. You’d think 5 years would be enough time to get over your first love, right? Wrong.

Although I didn’t agree with a lot of June’s communication skills and choices, I still really enjoyed her spunky character. Tucker and June will certainly bring a smile to your face!

June left her fiancé, her dad, her friends and her town essentially without saying goodbye and she hasn't been back. It's been five years.
Because her father is having a knee replacement she decides to take a few months off and take care of him. She's not quite sure of the reception she'll get. She's hoping she can avoid her ex, Tucker, if possible.
Of course that doesn't happen. It's a small close knit town after all.

Memories resurface, hurts are refreshed and there's lots of confusion in both parties.

Was she right to leave? Does he want her to stay? Why didn’t he fight for her?

She also realizes she's been left out of the loop about many of the changes that have taken place in her absence.

This was a very heart rending second chance romance. I really enjoyed it and even shed a few tears. It's a wonderful story, masterfully told. I highly recommend that you read about and come to know the people of Arcadia, Texas. You'll be glad you did.

I read both the book and listened to the audio version. I loved them both!

Such a cute second chance small town romance! This is a fast paced read with the POV of both June and Tucker.

Overall I recommend this book! I’m always looking for palette cleaner book after reading fantasy and this definitely got me out of that fantasy headspace and into this small town!

This is part of a series and after reading this one I’ll be picking up the others.

Thank you Netgalley for this arc read!!!!

This is a beautiful mix of second chance romance mixed with small town romance. I enjoyed the story and you could really become invested in the characters. Sometimes with romance I can feel that the end is rushed but not this one. The timeline flowed so well.
I listened to the audiobook and I didn’t think the Voice fit the June in my head but all in all it was enjoyable as well.

This is the second book in the Arcadia Creek series by Kasey Stockton, but it could be enjoyed as a standalone story. It is a clean/kisses only contemporary romcom.

This is a sweet second chance type romance between June and Tucker. The town of Arcadia Creek plays into the plot as well. I enjoyed this book for what it was. Not suspenseful but a lighter predictable read. Sometimes you just need that kind of book.

I did listen to the audio. It is a dual POV story with both a female and male narrator. They did fine in reading it. My only issue was that the female narrator sounded like a 50 year old smoker rather than a 25 year old woman. I literally was shocked almost every time she started to read her chapter.

Thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape media for the audiobook. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

"Falling In Line" is a captivating novel that left me with a warm and fuzzy feeling. The book is a perfect romance that explores the theme of second chances and the importance of owning up to our mistakes. The author has done an excellent job of crafting a well-structured plot with great character development. Each character has a unique personality, and their interactions with each other are both heartwarming and humorous.

The book's pacing is fast, making it effortless and delightful. After reading a string of intense thrillers and historical dramas, this book provided me with a much-needed break and a refreshing change.

One of the things that I enjoyed the most about the novel was the charming bookshop that served as the backdrop for the story. It was delightful to see how the characters' lives revolved around it.

I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to NetGalley for providing me with a free and advanced copy of this remarkable book.

This was the second book in a series, and I hadn’t read the first one but it didn’t feel like I was missing any info. I believe there are interconnected stand alones. The book was so cute and heartwarming. I love a small town/second chance romance. I’m glad I got the advance listening copy as well bc the narrator was amazing and added so much to the story.

June returns to her small hometown to take care of her dad, dreading it because it meant facing all the people living there, including her ex-fiancé Tucker. You quickly learn June left Tucker, and many of the toen people haven’t forgiven her for that.
The books is written in a dual point of view. The writing is fun, you really get a sense of how the main characters are feeling. It’s a sweet story without any explicit scenes, but with lots of banter, awkward emotions and a chance at second love.
The narration is okay, lots of funny voices and you hear the emotions through their voices.
It’s a lighthearted, easy, feel good book with a happy ending.
Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for providing an advanced copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!! The closed-door romance was perfect. I didn't realize this was the second book, so I HAVE to go back and read Lauren & Jack's story. The narrator also did a fantastic job. Loved this second-chance romance so so much!
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this audio ARC!

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC of this audiobook. I thought this book was sweet and heartwarming. The main character comes to her hometown to help her father who had surgery. But her ex is there and the town seems to have a grudge against her. I wasn’t a fan of the narrator but the story line flowed well and it was entertaining.

Second chance romance is never my first choice but I LOVED this book! This is going to sound odd, but it was honestly refreshing to read a book where not everyone is obsessed with the FMC. After a hasty exit, June came back to her small town years later to help her dad recover from surgery. The first person she runs into is her ex-fiancé Tucker.

No matter how hard the two try to stay away from each other they are drawn back together. Throw in small town gossip, a secret relationship, a date auction, the quilting club, and you have the perfect mix of drama for their tiny town. I loved seeing June grow throughout this book and stand up for herself when it came to her job, she really came full circle. Thank

This is a cute, wholesome love story about two high school sweethearts who are planning to marry when one runs off without saying goodbye to anyone, including her father. After five years, June finally returns home to help her father recover from knee surgery. She finds a love that never ended and the life she thought she didn't want.

4.5 ⭐️
Narrated by: Cara Swingline and Evan Sibley

Lineman vs firefighter jokes 5 ⭐️
Every lineman ever: Even firefighters need heroes. (Heroes = lineman of course)

This love story features high school sweethearts that went separate ways after June left without warning to a new college. Lineman Tucker stayed in their home town and tried to move on. When June’s dad needs some assistance after a knee replacement, June comes back to Arcadia Creek for the first time in 5 years. Is June ready to face her past?

Tucker and June are incredibly endearing. This is a very sweet, fluffy story. They feel like real, good people. This story is a smut free zone that’s heavy on banter and tension. I really enjoyed it.

I absolutely loved having Tucker be a lineman. I haven’t found many books that feature linework. My husband and brother in law are lineman; I’m incredibly proud of them and the insane things they do to keep the lights on.

I do not think you need to read book 1 of the series to enjoy book 2. You are more familiar with the characters of you read book 1, but I don’t think you would ever be lost or annoyed if you start in with book 2. However, book 1 is just as cute and enjoyable as this one though so I do encourage you to read it.

For whatever reason, Sibley’s audio sounded a bit flat and robotic to me but it seemed like an audio file issue not a narrator performance issue. I do think it’s goofy that southern accents were almost completely MIA - seemed like an intentional choice.

audiobook ARC - thank you netgalley, Kasey Stockton, and Dreamscape Media

This cute little read is about a small town girl who moved onto bigger and better things….until she has to return home to care for her father. She is thrown back into the tiny town and the normalcy of everybody being all up in everybody else’s business, and the business just so happens to be the man that got away - or the one she ran away from!

If you’re looking for a rom-com that is more sweet than sultry, this might be just the thing you need! I thought the storyline, although quite predictable, is adorable and the characters are lovable. There isn’t a lot of drama and angst here, it’s a pretty straightforward book that is easy to follow, easy to listen to and one that is easy to enjoy especially if you are needing something lighthearted. Also, I thought the narration was well done without being overdone!

This is the first book by this author that I’ve experienced and it’s one I would happily recommend to some of my fellow readers. I would like to thank Kasey Stockton, NetGalley, and Dreamscape Media for the advanced copy of this audiobook.

Falling In Line by Kasey Stockton was such a cute listen! I really enjoyed this very PG romance. It was so innocent and refreshing. None of the steam. Just the sweetness. A feel-good listen that you do not have to mute when in the company of children.

I found the female narrator's voice to be "too old" for an early 20-year-old. I kept doing the math, trying to figure out June's age, because there is no way a 20-year-old sounds as old as Cara Swingline (of course, maybe she is young with an older sounding voice). I did enjoy Tucker's narrator, Evan Sibley.

Oh, and while googling Swingline, I saw that this is the second book in the Arcadia Creek series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced audio listen in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
